  1. Great info Mik, there is a distinct lack of info on cam upgrades on this forum so thanks. Do you have dyno charts showing the difference between the stock and Tomei cams? If not do you know the numbers. The Tomei website say themselves that with Poncams there is no need for cam gears with Poncams as they optimised them at 0°/0° timing. fatz, the fact is, you've got a big mother of a turbo with a 1.06 A/R exhaust housing and there is bugger all you can do to bring the turbo on earlier. You'd be better off focusing on spreading power across the top end to give as broad a power band as possible, much easier to do than trying to beat the laws of physics. Cams would prob be the best way as the other guys have said, and just keep the revs up. I currently have stock cams with exhaust only adjustable cam gear but I wanted to get more top end and a broader spread of power. It worked with 10rwkW more but a far better feel up top with more power overall. I now have a set of Tomei Poncams for my RB25DET that I haven't installed and I am looking to get more grunt but more importantly get a broader spread of power. The website says it will help spool up a bigger bolt on turbo but I'm not sure the effect is gonna be that signifincant, I think from maybe 3200rpm there will be a difference up to I hope 7500rpm.
  2. Sounds good. Grepin, Chris32 and myself have been busy as well. I reckon when Clint32 completes his animal we should have another dyno day at Boost Worx with Shaun's recently recalibrated dyno. Maybe a month after the 4, 6 & Rot nationals.
  3. Is anyone doing anything these days to power up their beast? Seems bloody lame on the grunt front!
  4. I'm not bi-sexual so I suppose I won't be coming....
  5. I think the fundamentals of the turbo CHRA are good, but I think the comp &/or turbine covers are a bit cobbled together. So looking at options there. 270-280rwkW at 17psi is good I suppose, particularly with stock cams and pipework/intercooler designed for only a 250rwkW target.
  6. Yeah, I was gonna do that eventually, just wanted peoples own experiences.
  7. Come on guys, surely someone knows.
  8. Who in Oz supplied the basic components of the turbos, in particular the compressor and exhaust housings and also in particular, internal gate ones? I want to look into changing my exhaust housing to one that is more modern, like the HKS and current crop of Garrett designs (like the XR6 Turbo ones). Thanks in advance.
  9. Looks like grepin is in
  10. Will definetely be there with other Skyline scrubbers in crime, either as competitor or spectator.
  11. Hmmm, thought there'd be a catch...stuff that then. Will do the 16th feb meet instead. Thanks for the heads up old boy.
  12. What on at Mallala? I might enter in the 4,6,Rot for the hell of it. I'll be in the 12s, so nothing majorly quick but should be interesting. Clint, I have an entry form if you need to know more info.
  13. OK, thanks for the feedback.
  14. Has anyone cleaned up (or match ported) their stock inlet manifold on their RB25DET? Is there anything to clean up? Any power gains if you did? Don't want to know about Greddy plenums etc. More thinking of cleaning up factory plenum and maybe bigger throttle.
  15. I heard you have a big collection of gay pornos to share.
  16. It's a fixed loss depending on what type of car you have: - Big V8 or XR6T RWD, 60kW loss - Small FWD, 40kW loss - Mid size RWD or small 4WD (R32/33 or WRX), 50kW loss - Mid size 4WD (GTR), 60kW loss So a dyno can read 100 or 300 rwkW, you'll still only have that fixed difference between wheel and engine power readings.
  17. You have my deepest sympathies, didn't know they had uni's or that they even studied there.....

  20. I reckon you are on the money, RB25DET early models cam lift = valve lift but not so for later models and all RB26DETTs due to valve clearance of 0.45-0.51mm (quite a bit really).
  21. Yes, it's the Southern Cross place on OG Rd. I've known about it for well over 9 months but keep forgetting. Not game to use it as I've asked for specs and manufacturer twice now without success, so they can get stuffed until I see something. I'm sure all other manufacturers/suppliers have to freely provide minimum standards. Any other clues as to who makes it?
  22. Outlet in Adelaide selling 100 Octane Unleaded fuel from a normal pump, and has been selling for well over a year now. Says it's road legal, however I asked them for specifications and who the supplier/manufacturer is but no cooperation. Selling for $1.38/L and stays at that price so for some reason not affected by oil price. Price is pretty good for the odd drag, track or dyno day. Better than stuffing around with Toluene or fouling plugs with octane boosters. I've never tried it BTW. Would anyone know what product this is? Is is possibly the Mobil Avgas Green 100/115?
