  1. Should have bought a wagon and called it 'Boonga'.......or is that old hat now? What power? Looks like 600HP potential.
  2. Martin/Matt, yep, there has to be a trade off across the rev range for sure. However with mine, I'm lucky in that I think the better flowing manifold and definately the better tune (both off and on boost) has more than hiden any power loss below 4000rpm and it feels better everywhere on the road. Martin is ICL the same as LCA? Lobe Centre Angle, it governs/determines overlap I have read. I was going cams with this latest upgrade as it is was the next logical step but went the half way option for now as I'll have a few months of enjoyment until the next upgrade. I like to do things in stages to see what happens for myself, however I pay for it in the end with more labour costs I spose. But yeah, bring on the cams. Myself, Whatsisname and Grepin are due in the next few months, should be interesting, start to give Steve a run for his money. Any of the RB30 R32 boys going aftermarket cams??
  3. Andrew, could you repeat the question? Not 100% sure what you mean re your first sentence....were you drunk
  4. Sorry but I have no idea, Shaun did it and I wasn't there. I'll ask next time I'm there.
  5. Shit mate that's alot of grunt anyway, bloody good stuff. 1.6 bar mate, that'll get you there. Cams will give you another 20 easy. Anyhow, how does it sound now?
  6. Sorry to post-whore....Matt, I was flat out at work until late and had get home for dinner with some people so couldn't make it to BstWrx this arvo. Did you head there?
  7. So what have you done with the extra stockings mate? Otherwise very good job I must say.
  8. Won't be in town for the 6th unfortunately. By the way, I drive my car to work everyday and use it for work on occasions, getting good mileage considering, 390-410km/tank and alot more of course if a driving in country. But that's Skylines for ya, brilliant, as per the editorial by Ben Ellis in a recent HPI.
  9. Rightio, might see you there.
  10. I gotta admit I thought exactly that myself mate  It does sound nice with all the changes. Can't wait to put cams in one day. By the way I now have a sticker on my car, Boost Worx on front window. This new mod overlooks my bonnet and infuses its magic influence into my motor  Matt, when's the next AIR run?
  11. Yep that's the one, I thought the same re cylinder 5 runner in particular however at the same time I thought it was much better than stock simply by virtue of the larger ID of the runners. Who knows, the extended power range at the top end I now have might not have been achieved with the old manifold. I read around on various forums and the consenses was that three into one from each bank of three was better than six into one. The manifold from Tilbrooks (Mick Stanic...is he still there???) is oen of the best around, but again much more expensive. Anyway, for the price (less than half of anything else I have been quoted) I'm happy enough.
  12. Thanks. I have internal gate turbo, so just a swap from stock cast manifold to tubular SS manifold.
  13. Cheers all. Clint, will also be very interesting to see outright engine vs chassis dyno figures when you're done. From all accounts it's a linear relationship re engine vs chassis numbers, not a multiple like 1.3 for eg. So a smallish FWD car might loose 40rwkW through drivetrain whether the engine is pushing out 100 or 200 kW. A mid size RWD, I have read, is a 50kW drivetrain loss, so for example when I first got my car it had 136rwkW, which = 186kW. Now 280rwkW = 330kW. For bigger cars like old Falcons, Monaros and also 4WD GTRs, typical losses are 60rwkW. We'll see as yours is full R33 and GTR running gear is that right? So you might expect 50-55kW loss.
  14. Did a few tweaks to get new power level: - Exhaust Cam gear (OS Giken), 5° retard - Tubular SS exh manifold (didn't make much difference on its own unfortunately) - Swap to better Matrix mode tune with LT-12 Mictotech from old-style mode (leans out some rich spots I had) Shaun at BoostWorx did the work, excellent stuff as per usual. Green plot is old setup. The old power curve indicates better low down power but that's due to different ramp rate on dyno helping to spool turbo earlier, so if Shaun had done that same ramp rate, <3000rpm power with the new setup would have been better. Not sure why he does that because it can make a dyno plot look like shit at lower RPM??? Anyway, if we have another dyno day, we should make sure ramp rates are the same for all, within reason of course.
  15. a'yep.
  16. Just letting you all know that that new song called L-a-c-h-l-a-n is definately based on me :aroused: Rgds, Lachlan (Freebaggin).
  17. Don't you mean scrubbers?
  18. Yeah, that was all for the turbo compressor and exhaust housings it's so huge and massive, the rest was for my equally massive exhaust. Kept the chrome tip however.
  19. Just go to Bunnings mate, prob need 8 or so cans. Remember it's only an R32.
  20. All cars except R34 Gtt & Gtr R33 Gtr Cruise dudes and dudets Those cars are too flash for us and we'll just get too embarrassed. Prob avoid city and Glenelg since our humble modes of trans will be rubbished by the "best of the best" who frequent these hip spots.
  21. Do you have a picture of the manifold you received? How did it go with fitup and power improvement? What car do you have? Cheers, Freebaggin.
  22. Hmmm, sounds good, might bring me up to my nemisis Grepin's figure of 274rwkW and at less boost :kick:
  23. For RB series motors?
  24. I've attached pic, are these the BFGs you mean? How would you rate them for hills driving?
