  1. ^^ yep a ecu is only as good as the tuner couldnt be happier with both.. +1 for PITS Matt Spry..
  2. I have a m800 for my race car and had thoughts of converting my GTR to motec but I can't bring myself to removing the trusty old PFC ljetro it's the nicest driving modified car I have ever driven cold starts like factory and has had the same tune in the ecu for 3years.. For me in my street car the PFC was the best 1k that I spent out of the 100k. Lol
  3. No results yet still in the build phase..
  4. Turbos going on a FJ20 1600 so no RB data sorry..
  5. Ok mate good luck with it. Keep this thread updated ill definitely come out to see how it goes one thursday night...
  6. I have a HTA3586 from FP and it runs a T4 TS 1.00 marked with Garrett. Pretty sure the ATP one is 1.06. My garret one looks like a normal Garrett housing with no problems..
  7. Have you considered any of the billet wheeled T04z sized turbos 6766 or HTA3794? Usable powerband is what wins races.. Like how Fatgtr found out when he ran a properly built 2.6 with lowmount 2530's with his 2.8 and t51.. Lol
  8. UAS organised the honing back in 2004 not sure if there still doing it.. Maybe hypergear could join the conversation with a few options on high flow bolt in low mount GTR turbo's that give 50-60AWKW extra than current offerings without masses of lag??
  9. Attempting to push 2530's harder! Whats the consensus of whether to open up the entry to the wastegate flap on hks 2530's? More area on the flap would apply more force to blow it open? These could be my next upgrade (4th set) of actuators the dual ports look real nice! http://www.full-race.com/store/turbos/borgwarner-efr/efr-dual-port-internal-wg-actuator.html Now i wonder if running boost pressure to the bottom side of the gate will enable me to crack 30psi up top with the 19psi actuators or head straight to the 35psi units? Be interesting to see base pressure with the 35psi ones! The reliability of the stock extruded manifolds are great but at 460awkw i wonder if theres power there aswell?
  10. That's the thing about the precisions if you want low boost you can if you want big #'s turn it to 35psi. Why limit yourself with thr 6262for 4-500rpm.. On supra forum there's a good guide on how to make the stock auto live with big power.. If you stick to the same rules as the guys with built stock auto running 8's in full weight supra it should handle high 400rwhp ok.
  11. If your into drifting or circuit the auto probably isn't a good option but for cruising the streets or drags the automatic is so much faster compared to the manual.. MV 3.2 stall and the shift kit = win
  12. Best thing iv done to my mz12 2j powered Soarer was a Mv shift kit it's pretty easy to live with and gear changes under power were 1000% better!!
  13. As Lith mentioned in the precision thread plain bearings aren't known for reliability if I was going to run low boost I'd just go with something tested like a 3582.. If you have plans of building the motor I'd scarifices a small amount of lag increase and get the 65 rear then you have the option of turning it up later. If you go 6262 your limiting yourself for a few hundred rpm spool..
  14. The 6262 exhaust wheel will choke before you can benefit from the high flow front wheel.. I doubt you'll be able to run 30+psi on a gt35 sized exhaust wheel.. Id go straight to the 65 rear wheel and deal with a few hundred extra lag.. What gearbox you running?
  15. Ok N1 id be willing to donate $100 towards some high flow twin setup development.. If we could find another 19 member we could put a large dent in the initial outlay? Would be nice to keep them in true direct bolt on loosing that would suck! We could name them after the forum something catchy like -5AU. LOL
  16. I dont think it will be as bad as the 71 wheel because the "billet" wheel does its magic up top when the motor can consume it!
  17. A few pm's from hypergear turbos some months back concerning upgraded turbine wheels on the 2530's Good day: Thanks for your email. the 2530 runs off GTRS turbine wheel which can flow up to around the 450hp mark. I believe the reasons that you can’t hold more boost would either be the comp wheel can not satisfy engine’s air consumption at the specific boot level. The wastegate is too small. And Turbine housing is too small. So you can run 71mm comp wheel or we can make a set of billet 60mm wheel and machine out your current internal gate with a larger flap see if that works better, if not we will have to go for larger turbine housing or larger turbine wheel which will affect the GTR’s response by much. Good day: The 2530's already felt laggy on the Rb26det, The next size up is the GT30 turbine wheel, we can grind it down in trim which will pickup better response but I'm not too sure what that would be like running as a twin on a GTR thou.. Good day: You will really be looking at the GT3071 / 76 cores. those are around 1400AUD each from Garrett Australia, but I'm more then happy just machine your housings if you want to supply your own core as you can get them for almost half price from US. We charge $110 for each housing to be machined. And Also if you've got the anti surged housings we will need to measure up the surge grove to the lower blade of the new comp wheel. Just need someone with 2530/-5 to take the plunge and try a cropped GT30 exhaust wheel as above and use the HTA 68 front wheel and hope for the best! If its to laggie 3ltr it!!
  18. After experiencing back pressure issues with standard hks 2530 on my 26 i never thought the -10 or Gtrs were worth even considering.. -5/2530's ftw
  19. This bumper sticker will confuse some of the old timers "Nissan found a replacement for displacement" GR6!!!!! LOL Cant wait to see what the next 2years holds for the R35... LAMBO
  20. Another EFR faluire on EvolutionM forum. Im feeling sorry for the guys that've been waiting for over a year for there turbo to have this in the back of there mind - When i actually get my turbo will it fail. I can say the car is stinking fast. First two sessions of the shake down run were great. Went out for the third session, hit the back straight and see a m3 passing me while at WOT. I'm thinking wait how is that even possible (Nobody could even come close to my backstraight speed.)Look down.... 0 boost and a supercharger like whine. Limped it in to see if it was any easy fix. Luckliy I had the guys from RRE down doing track support so they checked and found no boost leaks and from the intake side it looks like the wheel started digging in to the inside of the housing. It SO hard to see. Running the car, There is a heavy metalic like whine, and with the intake off and putting your hand over the intake side it definently sucks... no leaks everything bulges like it should. The one interesting thing is that when you stop the car... the wheel just stops instantly... typically I was told on a BB turbo the wheel keeps spining.. this just comes to an abrudt stop. So the car is headed back down to RRE for the turbo to be removed and inspected... But if it was damaged from the original issue, I'm wondering if that may have been part less then stellar results? I don't really know... but I'm trying my hardest to get a solution together before Tuesday. So, the turbo is off and as far as RRE can tell the bearings are fine. The turbo does not spin because the shaft is bent. That is making it bind on the bearings. One sise of the compressor wheel has relatively undamaged blades. They do not contact the housing. On the opposite side of the wheel the blades are all ground away. We are pretty sure that it wasn't caused by the prior motor’s death. To be continued:
  21. http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?633847-Na-t-6265-new-best-9.99-133&highlight=6265 Here's a heavy as soarer with a power sapping Turbo400 running 9's with a 6265 and 640rwhp You need to be a member to view. Ill look for the supra thread later.. Na-t, 6265 new best 9.99@133 Just got home from the drags. Got a few runs in and finally hit a high 9. I previously had a best of 10.1x on a pair of 265/40/18 mt dr's on is350 wheels with a 1.6x time. A good buddy of mine let me borrow his M&H dr's and I was able to cut a little better 60 foot. Just enough to squeak a 9.99 on my last pass during bracket. I was very happy to say the least. Boost was a solid 30 psi and I launched with around 15psi as anything more would have massive tire spin. I honestly didnt think this little 62mm turbo had a 9 in it, but I am pleased to say it does! Time slip consists of. 60' 1.527 330' 4.206 1/8 6.428 mph 110.33 1000' 8.357 1/4 9.994 mph 133.61 not sure why the low mph as the car was trapping 137-138 all night? My buddy that was filming went home early so I didnt get any footage of the car running the 9.99. I did however get the in car video with a gopro of that pass. Before he left for the night he had filmed a few 10.0x passes. I am uploading the video's on youtube at the moment, as I finish I will post the link here on this thread.
