What was the end result of this project?
-
I checked the turbo part numbers and they are stock r32 gtr turbos. I also checked what pressure the waste gates are opening, and it's at around 9psi on the high setting so I must have an issue with the boost solenoid or the hoses.

Adjustable Castor Arms
MYRB30 replied to MYRB30's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Finally fitted these arms last night. The aligner set my castor at 4 degrees which seems on the high end for r32's, so we will see how we go. -

When they snap is it from accident damage or normal usage? -

Yeah, I assume they aren't legal....Got boxes full of stock stuff here...........and at my parents LOL. I've seen plenty of cars with these after market arms on, and no-name brands too. But I don't know of anyone who has had one simply break. Thats my main concern. -
Hi guys, I grabbed a set of Shiang-I adjustable caster rods for my R32 GTR. They look ok quality with a rubber boot over the rose joint, which I was happy about. But after talking to a couple of wanna-be drift kings they tell me that some of these after market arms break! How likely is this given it's only street driven? Last thing I want is to be repairing the firewall after the caster rod snaps. I've seen it with stock rods when people just gutters and the like. Your thoughts most appreciated.

Thanks guys, lots of good options there.

Thanks for that. Is it noisy? My experience of Walbro is that they are noisy as hell.

Hey all, I have a case of the lazy fuel pump disease. It's not holding up it's end of the bargain. What fuel pumps are people using these days as replacements? The cars pretty stock, just exhaust and filters. So I'm not fueling a 1000hp monster. Is there a suitable replacement that slides straight in? or are we messing around with brackets and stuff now? Thanks!!!!!!

Rebuilding A R33 Gts 5 Speed Yourself.
MYRB30 replied to studricho's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Have done a few of them...Not rb25 boxes, but vl turbo, d22 navara, rd28 patrol boxes, they all are the same basic box, just minor differences. They are a large, heavy, and clunky box. I was always amazed at how much end float the gears had. LOL. Everything is circliped and shimed in (unlike rb20, rb30 NA boxes, which are hold by threaded nuts). Any usually everything is DAMN tight. I was lucky enough to have access to NISSAN tools, so that puller shown above is a blessing. LOL. It can be done at home, but dont hope to get it all done in one weekend, unless everything runs smoothly. -
You mean rear cross member? Hit up pedders, like $290 for a kit.

Yeah, the blue cover definitely gets baked on!

I've tried a couple of places here in SA with no luck, can you suggest any one who I should try?
-
Theres not much room there and its a lot of messing around for the LEDS...
-
There are severaly types of "nissan' 4 piston calipers. There are ONLY R32 GTR Nissan/Sumitomo callipers though, and only the V spec II with the R33 Brembos.. You more than likely seen repainted nissan calipers, perhaps with a larger rotor and adaptor to make it look 'tight'
-
How do you go finding the blue caps? LED's dont like 12 volts either do they?
-
Hi guys, I've searched high and low for quite some time, but have never been able to find a source of these bulbs. These are the ones that go in the switches in an R32.

This is quite funny. Not long a go a fella was saying he wanted to be a mechnic. I let rip with my view of the trade and was shot down for being over negetive and crap at my job! How disliking your job eqates to being no good at it beats me. Shane Warne wanted to be an AFL player, didn't really care much for cricket, but was the best bowler of all time. But here in this thread alot of people are advising against it. I have no doubt females can make great mechanics. You just gotta be able to stand up and tell the idiots running the show to F#@K OFF alot of the time. After all why aren't they working on the cars? Automotive customers are the worst in the world. I am sure of this. Im sick and tired of chasing dash rattles and squeaks. Consumer law says these are not warranty, and we should get paid to find them. I spend alot of my day doing warranty stuff, and they business just doesn't get paid for it. Hence my time is worthless. Thats what annoys me the most. Im selling my life away at a rediculously low cost. How can a lawyer justify $80 just to answer an email, where I can work on a car for two or three days and the business doesn't recieve a cent.

Have I been affected? Oh son of rajab yes. My investments have been sold down way lower than their worth. How can I say that? Well all of them made record profits last year, for the last six months last year and look to be well on their way for this six months. I was close to starting a business outside of my current field, but this has been put on hold. Ill have to continue to do what I do now. By the end of the year Ill just buy a business. I think we got lots of bad news yet to come. End of the year should see the local economy really hurting. I did post in another thread that we would be in official recession in April. Well last quarter last year we shrunk, and we will definately shrink this quarter, voila two quarters of negitive growth. Yes, technical recession in April. On the upside, gee aren't Vspec's getting cheap....Getting closer to buying my Vspec II every week.

That is one nice Bnr32. You should be proud. Even inspired me to think about cleaning mine lol

Ive been messing with liunx (mainly mandriva) for what for 6 or more years now. It was bit hit and miss back then. Now its pretty darn good. I built a new pc in October last year and some of the drivers werent out, like the network driver and video card. Thats what you get for buying cutting edge. I was able to get it working after googling for a few hours. I couldnt get my RAID array running. A few months later mandriva 2009 came out. I installed that and everything, EVERYTHING, was detected and worked. So the improvements happen so fast with everyone from around the globe finding and repairing bugs. I still have to spend hours googling to find ways to do stuff. I am a member of the Mandrivausers forum and those guys are great. I still dual boot with XP, as some of my programs are windows based. But I'm sure i could get them to work under WINE. Linux is so stable and so much faster that I use it for practically all my surfing and other pc duties. As a normal home pc linux would be perfect. If your like me and mess with hard ware abit and like messing around it still takes a bit to find how to do stuff. I love my linux installs. The 3d desktop effects are always impressive for my friends too!

Im not sure of an easy way, just pop the dash cluster out, and its the metal box bolted to the back of it, just remove it.

$15? are you sure thats the right key? As in one with a transponder in it?

The car will need a thermostat. Yes it will run with out one. Yes you will use more fuel. Yes the coolant wont warm up properly most of the time. And on real hot days the water will circulate so quickly that it will not cool down in the radiator, and hence it will still run hot. Get the cooling system checked out properly. Chucking the thermostat to the chook house is for bogans
