  1. its my understanding that the KERS system is powered directly by the engine, not using the 'brakes' at all, similar in effect to an engine brake on a truck. this means that as the system reaches full charge there is a loss of retardation that would normally be offered by the KERS, and since the engine is only linked to the rear wheels this throws the braking ballance off
  2. definatly stick with the 9's, but as for width wait till u lower it and see how much room u have obviously a wider tire of the same make/model is going to be provide more grip, but a better tire in the same size will also offer more grip. so u should look into getting quality tire, the adrenalin's are good, but for that bit extra u cant go past the RE01-R's imho they are the best all round tire u can get (st/motorkana obviosly not suited to full on track use)
  3. have u lipped the gaurds? i'd lower it 1st, see how much room u have and go from there if u have some room a 245/40 fits nice on a 9" rim, but also if ur having traction issues u might wanna look into better quality tires
  4. pretty self explanitory, what tyres do u use on the back of ur drift machine and y/how do u find them? not after 2nd hand cheapy answers but at the same time if ur forkin out $300 a tyre i'd like to no y u think its worth it over the $100 option
  5. RE01-R 235/45R17 $355 each fitted and ballanced race compound and construction in a st tread and depth, the best compramise i've found and they destroy RE01's and RE001's but i cant vouch for the T1R's
  6. anyone no if there is some way of saving or buffering the ITV feed? stoopid 3G mobile net isnt fast enough to stream it
  7. any idea on cost of freight to perth on say 4 tires? their about $130 each 235/45R17's here
  8. i didnt say that they didnt have R&D put into them (any new product has to) what i am saying is that its not suficent. also the build quality is poor, i have seen the mounting brackets (S13) snap in what could be deemed as a small incident (car got about 1 foot of air) these coilovers are built in china on a tight budget and it shows, unfortunatly most people that would even consider fitting these to their car would think that they're the ducks nuts cause all of a suden its a stiff, jumpy and 'feels' exciting which 'feels' fast... it took me a while to learn that a boring ride/drive is often alot faster
  9. ok well 1st off what were u running b4? of course it is gunna feel like the bomb if u've just been rollin round on stock suspension again what tires, if there not the same as u ran on ur previous setup then u may need to factor that in how did u change the geometry of the car (camber/toe/castor) also as its been mentioned dropping the car 100mm is gunna help feel and performance also be carefull comparing to other cars on the track cause driver skill come into it ALOT more than the car, i've beaten 400hp GTR's around a track in my old car with 150hp and busted ass JIC's also u list ur prefered settings for stiffness and say that u wanna try stiffer, were u being timed? and did u compare times to setting to find the optimum? i dont doubt that ur car does indeed go better with these coilovers than ur std suspension... however these cheap coilovers D2's G4's and ISC's simply do not have the R&D put into them that they need. they use overly stiff valving and spring rates to make it 'feel' faster and more fun to drive, but infact if you push it to the limits they simply cant provide the grip that a quailty product can. i have custom bilstine coilovers all round on my car (track only) and i love them, they're softer than my previous jap spec coilovers but provide much better grip through both the tight twisty stuff and the long sweeping bends; admitadly it is too soft for drifting and as thats the direction that i wish to take the car they will have to be rebuilt to new specs, a costly and time consuming exercise, but necessary if u truly wish ur car to handle basically what i'm saying is they're good, an improvement over std, but there is alot better out there and personally i wouldnt touch them (quality products will also last longer)
  10. fair enough, if convicted it'll be my 1st reckless offence, but i do realise that i dont have the best chances, but what can ya do any luck finding his number?
  11. i no that i could have denied it (been there done that) but in this situation i felt that it was better to fess up from the get go and try and get the charge reduced, it saved my car being impounding and me being arrested since finding out about the whole 2nd dangerous offence i do regret it, but what ya gunna do... i still maintain that what i did wasnt reckless, prob dangerous and definatly careless but if it makes u happy Stirch9 i've sold my skyline and bought a track car so the temptation will be removed
  12. ok... hung over (not still pissed it was like 3/4pm) driving my skyline after about a month of driving a run down POS corona i took a turn too fast, lost the rear end, brought it back, hit a patch of sand, spun, stalled, saw ppl trying to take a pic i paniked, did a little skid leaving. then cops come round my place while i'm playing with the sound system ask me what the go is, tell me they have 2 whitnesses and a pic, i owned up to it. knowing the difference between reckless and dangerous i made sure that i repeatedly said it was an accident. they took me to the scene to take pics of the marks, i took pics of the sand and the bumps on turn in (JIC coilovers dont like the bumps much) got charged with reckless which i'll have no problem gettin down to dangerous... careless on the other hand :S i also dont have the best record ever, lost my licence twice while on my P's one of which being for dangerous in a very similar situation althought i'm not sure how long that stuff stays on your record
  13. ok, i was really chasing someone that had fought a charge and had it reduced/thrown out
  14. ok cheers, should i say i was refered by someone? and how not cheap is not cheap, i can afford to spend about 2-3k maybe more if it has to go to trial
  15. ok well as the topic stats i'm lookin for a good lawyer, i was just going to accept the dangerous driving charge till i realised that 2nd offence carries mandatory 6 months disqualification so i'm trying to fight it down to careless i wont go into the details cause its fairly complex, but if any of you have had good experiences with lawyers let me know cheers des
  16. if u let me no how much freight will be to perth (6152) i'll take one of the turbos
  17. ok i dont agree with the whole knob thing, even if ur not a potential customer, but it can get abit frustrating when ppl shoot down ur atempt to help them (not that thats an excuse) if ppl come to u prepared to pay top $ then u obviously no what ur on about, and i'm not disputing that; but u have to realise that not everyone has the $$$'s or the desire to have there car handle like a race car, and thats where a store like REPCO comes in, off the shelf stuff like king springs that give a good value for money, especially on a daily. if u think that discounting prices is detrimental to the industry i would have to disagree, as i have explained they are 2 completely different markets that were catering for, one has little effect on the other IMHO granted ppl have had bad experiences with REPCO in the past, but that usually more to do with the f**kwit behind the counter than anything else, jake and i have put our hands up to help u guys out to try and avoid this; but if u wanna turn it down its no skin off my nose
  18. if u guys want drive in drive out serive then take it to wilko's and u'll get what u want... at a price now if u want off the shelf springs what does it matter who u buy them off, and yes we are cheaper than wilkos (i work with jake at REPCO btw) fine example $200odd for a whiteline swaybar for a 31 at wilkos, i'm doing them for 84, std off the shelf kings i can do for 120~ now obviously if u want customs it requires some research, and no we cant give u specs suited to ur needs, but i'm sure that if ur going to the trouble of gettin customs (and u dont have the misfourtune of having the only aus made skyline ) u'd b going coilovers, but for anyone that does want them 200~ and PM jake with specs cause i'm almost never on here now i realise where u guys r coming from, most ppl at repco dont no shit about anything performance, but u'd b surprised at some of the stuff we can get, and how much we can get it for; so dont b so superficial and listen 2 ppl when there trying to help u out
  19. thats so horny, both the 33, and the Z look at the screamer pipes, and looks at those turbos, wouldnt wanna encounter a nasty curb
