  1. i reckon we all join fats on the hill at turn 2 with a few eskys and fold out chairs, we can wave sau flags or something.
  2. put car in 4th gear and try to take off with the handbrake on. give it a few revs as you would to take off normally in 1st. dont hold it on the limiter and step off the clutch pedal lol. if the car stalls its ok, if it tries to drive through the clutch then its on the way out. it will start to slip in heavier load applications, 3rd and 4th gear to begin with, then all the time when its f@#ked. dont let it get to that stage. a off the shelf heavy duty organic clutch will cost you $800 fitted at most shops. (decent ones anyway) a custom built Jim Berry organic or similar about $1200 fitted. Nismo coppermix also very good. DO NOT FIT A BRASS BUTTON OR CERAMIC CLUTH PLATED CLUTCH TO A STREET DRIVEN CAR. no matter what people on here tell you. especially given that your car is mostly standard.
  3. yeh i couldnt see many shops keeping stock at 1k a piece. if you can trial fit some other rims but take note of offsets then order the style you like.
  4. heres link to my build thread, knock yourself out. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...on-t187852.html not sure why you want a blower or turbo setup on it but each to there own.
  5. is this setup for a 25 or 26? if a 26 disregard this post, but if you are trying to mount indy whites in a rb25 runner it will require modifying.
  6. unfortunately its an aquired feel.
  7. modify my young apprentice. you can run your two 044s intank, eliminate all the extra plumbing invoved with the swirl pot and keep pumps cool at the same time.
  8. is the cell alluminium? if so you could modify it to house an 040 intank pump as your lift. id remove the foam with e85, or leave a small piece sitting in some to make sure it doesnt break down. e85 is pretty corrosive.
  9. im keen, but would rather go when there are people i know, not by myself as ive never done a hill climb and have no idea whats going on. are any club members going?
  10. there are also things that are out of your control, solenoids sometimes sieze up, the nitrous solenoid can freeze if bottle pressure is too high, poor fuel quality causing detonation, etc. you must have alot of faith in the installer and tuner, in saying that i have seen guys fit there own kits, have no guages for gas pressure and fuel pressure reference and still have no issue, mind you the cars werent neer there full potential. this system is for motorsport use only in a conrolled environment. not recommended for street use. it makes cars fairly angry. Also ends up expensive as a 10lb bottle costs $120 to fill. thats a dollar a second.
  11. remove #1 spark plug and drop a screw driver in. rotate the engine clockwise from say 10deg before tdc and watch where the screw driver peaks. thats tdc. then mark pulley at that point.
  12. do as the drag racers do.....nice little frame with tags and bobs your uncle. Im planning on doing my side windows soon. the piece of 4mm i used for the rear window was $160
  13. i guess im lucky i dont have that issue, unless running in 4wd loads the convereter causing the vibration.
  14. ive never experienced any vibration in mine as the 4wd motor is f@$ked and the 4wd light has been on since day one. so there is a good chance what you are experiencing is transfer or front diff related.
  15. now that i know whats involved i can tell the boss what the go is, as its her car, but id say she will be keen. i know the shifter works in reverse to most cars but i like it.
  16. this is the truest statement. the v8s were great on the weekend. big anti-climax on sunday night. was a little bit of action at the back of the pack but far out.....it was boring. glad i gave melbourne a miss this year, except the fact im missing out on bar20. big problems.
  17. this sounds great, but the pulling down of the dash is what im concerned about. OK, i know see that the issue is replacing the top facia, which is not an issue when leaving the std deck. Thanks heaps.
  18. I am looking into replacing stereo in m35 stagea as factory cd player doesnt work. Chris was good enough to let me know that they are repairable but for $600. I would still have to remove it as i live south of sydney so driving it up to Brisbane for a install is a bit silly. was also toying with the idea of an after market head unit, but have been told the facia plates are $500 because they include some air conditioning module as it has to be broken off in the removal process which doesnt sound right to me. any help or a step by step diss-assembly guide would be much appreciated.
  19. is there an unofficial track day at Wakie hapening or what?????????? got plenty of fuel left from powercruise. im keen on a week-end.
  20. whats the latest we can book?
  21. having full camshaft control opens countless doors for performance tuning, its a full f1 inspired step and very exciting, as for the fly by wire im not a big fan, but you can see why it is done in a production car. i remember when i was an apprentice at Toyota, the first fly by wire cars were landcruisers. Toyota had one get away in a carpark, drove off a 12 foot ledge and squashed a couple of cars on landing. that was early days but still funny.
  22. v8 boat anchors. thats awesome Ben, it makes the power at the wheels that the ls1 boasted at the flywheel 10 years ago. they have come a long way.
  23. easy on the v8 bogan talk lads, im starting to take it personally lol. the cruise sessions were fun, by far the quickest car i ran was the 426ci shelby cobra replica. it was quick. highlight of the weekend was chopping the lambo. didnt really get to mix it with any of you guys, even 2rismo kept his distance, which was a good thing as i didnt want any panel damage. off street drags was hard, struggled for traction, even 2nd gear started my 2nd run, no good. at least i know it will turn them into 4th. not sure how i will go with standing start stuff.....big problems. but had fun and love the track. cant wait to attack it with less traffic.
