  1. no, all was sweet, did a little bit on it before he had a look, but he barely looked at it anyway. was weird, i was freeking for nothing.
  2. they have to be plumbed into oil gallery, other than that its a good safety back-up.
  3. boz, everyone is going to compare $ vs track time...same with drag racing. $200 to enter. 6, 10sec passes = 1min of racing. thats $3.30 a second. people just want track time.
  4. Wollongong boys and gals, are you keen to meet at northgate maccas around 6am, and we will leave about 6.15ish. Can cruise up together. also opportunity to get sausage and egg muffin and hash browns + coffee.
  5. good effort, 113mph at half track is the terminal speed of most 13-14 sec cars lol. get the rear end set up and put it on a diet and it will go fast.
  6. i agree, i think you will see that teams that comprimised next years car by vying for his years championship will struggle next year. Brawn, even Red-Bull will struggle against the Macs which were strong at the end of the season, and the uknown Ferrari.
  7. L2s, also got car log-booked.
  8. good question brus.....food. very important. Might have to bring the tail-gater. Guys, probably already been covered but what is the adress of the show-ground? Ill have to put it in the GPS as ive no idea around Sydney. Looks like a 6.00am start...fun.
  9. sounds great, Shame its on the same week-end as powercruise in sydney.
  10. we can build it roy.... only costs are machining. Whats to building anyway, its all clearancing, the combo is up to you but they all go together the same way.
  11. they are good in a glass boot or bonett, dont know how you would go in metal. I just used bonnet pins.
  12. hey guys, sent entry form and cheque off int the mail a week ago, havent recieved any confirmation that you recieved it and that im entered, can you confirm recieved entrys and also if there will be parking for tow vehicle and trailer. thanks Stuart
  13. congrats on a first class build Matt. White is so clean and easy on the eye, its just effortless to look at.... See you at shownshine.
  14. yes im keen, missed this year. also keen on garage.
  15. sorry mate, no cams license required for driver training days and at least 50 mins track time guaranteed. no hidden costs, $200.
  16. faark, what did you do? no license, no cams license, no membership to sau, no helmet, no cash, you kill a black cat lol, but still keen to race......i like it.
  17. Car all log-booked and have sent away for my L2S liscence. Looking forward to show-n-shine in december, as i dont think ill get it out for a meeting before the end of the year. Discovered the tach-recall button and got a shock to see highest recorded rpm, probably shouldnt do that too often.
  18. yeh, i kind of know the feeling of sitting in the cabin with the overwhelming scream which you just cant seem to get enough of. Had a little wheel spin moment of my own last outing and spun the engine a little hard lol, i think turning the rpm down is a good idea as they dont like being turned too hard. Still cant imagine the sound of the big cuber at 6200.
  19. it would be interesting to know how many of the above mentioned oils are actually certified as meeting there advertised spec. And viscosity as in the thickness is not the spec either. Should be running a SL spec oil or higher which is commonly a semi-synthetic at the very least. Check on the back of the packaging. If its not got the API stamp, then you dont actually know what you are getting and 80% of oils retailed off the shelf havent as it costs big dollars to have a product certified. Repsol oils are what i used in my shop for 5 years for this reason.
  20. Oh Chris, she is beautiful and a real credit to you and the crew who built her..... Whish you guys all the best with her and hope the juice was worth the squeeze, which it no doubt will be. If ever you need mechanic please call me.......im enthusiastic and will travel. Just require divorce first lol. Probably a good decision to sit out the first round, even though i bet you were itching to turn that 8 litre monster to 6000. Make sure to update us after your next meeting.
  21. thanks guys, i will check these things tonight.
  22. 4WD light on dash cluster is on all the time. Has been since i bought the car. Didnt think anything of it until lately. Was wondering if it was normal or if it might be indicating a transmission fault. Car seems to drive fine. Any help much appreciated.
  23. i strongly suggest you talk to your tuner before buying and installing a wolf ECU............Autronic are the favoured ECU of tuners i am invoved with. Peak horsepower is also confusing. You want it to make good power early so a solid torque curve is what you are really after in a street car. Keep the turbos small and push around a bar of boost through it. It will make 400hp but will make it from 3200rpm onwards withought straining the engine therefore keeping it reliable. anything over that power becomes wasted on the street. Also limit your rpm to 7500. There is no use in turning a standard engine with std cams, springs and small turbos any harder. This just hurts the engine.
  24. shit shane, it looks like you have written $550 a spot lol.
  25. cant run any forced induction over 3000cc engine capacity in sports sedan and maximum of 6000cc aspirated. ill stroke this engine when i freshen it up which hopefully wont be in the near future. car is a handful now with 300kw, cant imagine another 100kw. currently in the process of getting car log-booked, just finishing off a few little odds and ends like remote battery isolator cable and sealing rear parcel tray. Getting inspected this week-end. Thanks for the great words and pictures Xmetal. love the shot at the back of the track....
