  1. are you willing to fly pit crew over?
  2. my car is alot more well behaved now with the wing on, most noticably under heavy braking. i got this gt style one a while ago now, but after reading info off this thread. as stated by others, a wing is a bandaid for other setup issues sometimes, best to develope suspension before adding wing. if only i listened to that advise lol.
  3. check the sump is not damaged, if its been punched up it may have damaged the pick up tube higher up, causing it to pull air on braking, even when your oil level is correct. can test this by overfilling oil by a litre. sr20s common for it.
  4. hey guys, sorry to crash but ive run a few of these on a few different applications, mostly 4 cylinders but did fit one to a rb20, but with a .62 ex housing, it was a little big for it, but the .48 housings worked a treat on the sr20. gcg 30/37, only let down is it requires external gate. we just ran the 38mm turbosmart items.
  5. i see where your coming from, all the points you make are valid, i just didnt have the room. the strut brace is designed to run this way but around the back, but the engine sits so far back that it was easier around the front. the fuel rails sit 5mm under the bonnett so couldnt go over with the brace. you can with factory manifold. wasnt concerned with fuel temp as e85 is cold and it chews it, and some airflow will reach them.
  6. bloke builds thousands of clutches and has an issue with one and you blokes cant get over it.........i dont understand.
  7. no, they usually move the power band north
  8. whats the go with lewis gbox, can they repair either of them or does he cop another 5 grid penalty next race?
  9. I KNOW, LOVING LIFE ATM QUALI MIDDAY 2MORO ON 1HD
  10. seems like you have already made up your mind then, but the fact the car is faster with the standard sway bar on tells me that your aftermarket one is not matched to the rest of your set-up.
  11. sh$t, your completely right, i was under the impression the tyres were a lot narrower than that. they still weigh around the 1200kg is that correct?
  12. plenty of second hand diffs in the 4 sale section, cheaper and easier just to replace the whole unit
  13. hes on the right track with a $37 boost controller. second hand r34 side mount intercooler, panel filter and exhaust. $1000 max if this thing is a series 1.5 with series 2 ecu he is wasting his time.
  14. YOU KEEP THE TUNE VERY SOFT. you should only be leaning on the tune if you are buying the stuff drummed with data sheets.
  15. like this. this started as rust around the wheel arch, but when we pulled the quarter off it was much worse. replaced quarters with gtr quarter panels.
  16. hi mate, i have used truflow water pumps dozens of times on skylines and hundreds of times on all vehicles with no issues. just a vl rb 30 pump. ive had genuine pumps fail, and just the other day i had an issue with fitting a nismo n1 pump.......go figure. a good quality aftermarket pump will be fine. not the cheap chinese ones.
  17. yeah mate, the issue is making one offs. its more worth the effort when we punch 3-5 out in one hit, otherwise we have material left over etc.
  18. i was lucky enough to recieve a phone call from this gentleman last week about this problem.... havent heard back, so hope it all got worked out.
  19. Recently replaced a water pump on a members car and encountered a problem with a nissan genuine N1 water pump. for those of you who have replaced RB water pumps you will be aware of the single 6mm bolt that is at the top of the pump. This is where the problem arises with this particular pump. the hole for this bolt has been illongated as so the pump can be multi-fitted to different engines, as this bolt hole is in slightly different spots on the RB 20s, 25s, 26s & 30s. the problem with the wide hole is that it actually protrudes into the water jacket, obviously causing a substantial coolant leak. it is only 1/2mm x 1/2mm gap. The cure is to hold the pump up as far as you can when mounting it and tighten the water pump bolts in this position. this is enough to close the gap and seal the pump to the block. its a small simple step follow but will save you having to do the job twice.
  20. we tried to run a group buy for members but there was little interest so it didnt go ahead. also the mods werent too happy about it. decided to keep the car, just put it away for a bit.
  21. ill die if he swaps the reverse finger for the heart shape next time he gets pole.
  22. good luck mate, i did something similar a couple of years back, different model car and 1jz but similar. result was awesome, well worth it. http://www.csapo.com.au/volvo/index.htm
  23. yeh saw that, commintator picked up on it as well, wanted to see a replay to see what gear was displayed on the wheel when he took off. was probably frustrated as team fu#ked his race by bringing him in with alonso. thought they would leave him out for a couple of flyers then pit him. seems redbull can only concentrate on one drivers strategy per race.
  24. agreed, some great passing in the middle of the pack. Kubica around the outside was pass of the race. whats the go with the macs? seem very fragile......to think last race hamo hit the ferrari the same way contact was made on him and both times the mac has broken.....very frustrating for lewis. what was the go with slower cars being in the train on the restart? that was possibly the reason mark & lewis came together in the first place. im glad there was some racing in the middle, made it enjoyable.
