  1. N/A engines require back pressure to maintain low down torque and throttle response. you may not have issues seeing you are retaining the stock engine pipe and cat but it is a possibillity. we actually reduced my exhaust down from 3" to 2,1/2" back to 3" behind the collectors to create back pressure.
  2. you know it is ilegal to tow load heavier than tow car let alone dangerous, guess thats why it is ilegal.
  3. camshafts and valve springs. no use revving stock engine past the point where it makes power.
  4. Depends on how much you can get a crank for......if your trying to do this on the cheap i suggest you leave it as is as splitting an engine to change stroke will require machining and parts, at least rings, bearings and gasket kit. Replace water pump, timing belt, camsafts & gears etc etc. if you then are paying someone else to blueprint the engine you will be looking at atleast $1500 in labour. I reckon to stroke RB20 using second hand parts ie crank and rods, machining and other parts + labour to build.......$5000. Cheapest option would be to get a 3litre and put you head on it.
  5. more than likely, but theres a good chance you will loose powah.
  6. Merli, in all seriousness if you are looking for something built specially for towing, my boss is selling his ford transit van. It has had a VT V6 conversion. Has kitchenette, toilet, shower and bunk bed. He used it for towing horse float so 2000kg is not a problem. also good for those overnighters. let me know if your interested and ill organise some pics.
  7. easy to tell the difference between series 1&2, Series 1 have brown plug on harnes, series 2 have grey plug. can get split-fires for under $600, and Just Jap do there own now also.
  8. the engine fan has a fluid filled clutch on it. When hot air passes through the radiator it melts wax in the clutch which runs into a chamber which locks the clutch up intern driving the fan. you should be able to free-spin the fan with the engine off when cold. It will have a litle drag but should not be tight or locked. If it is the clutch is F#cked. They are about $110 after-market. have replaced a few. it has nothing to do with air-con or any sensors as it is mechanical.
  9. brus that was 3 seasons ago...........
  10. everybody has mixed opinions on this, factory engines are pre-run in so just get into it. Im also a believer of the harder you drive it the better it performs as mentioned earlier. As for running in built engines, this is how i ran in mine.
  11. Cheers Doof. No stereo unfortunately.
  12. yeh i dont know what happened, bloody phone.
  13. yeh, boring from the limited overtaking but the incar footage was out of control......i was shitting myself watching.
  14. yes but cubes are everything, Na engines require capacity, why hamstring yourself with a 2ltr when you can run a 3ltr with 26 head. Run comp up to 11:1 . E85 and off you go. or at least run the RB26 crank and rods in the rb20.
  15. thats gold Neil, your such a gentleman waving to everybody...except JP lol.
  16. just a pic update of the things done a fortnight ago. Rear screen, tin-work, hand-brake & shifter, throttle-body mesh and of course SAU schticker and hood badging.
  17. hey guys, i meant to ask if there was a nismo package for the M35 as mine has a Nismo badge on the steering wheel and full set of floor mats. Not sure if you can buy them as an option, but the wheel looks factory, unless the previous owner did a really good job of putting a badge on.
  18. little engine bay clip, free reving in the garage. have to stop doing this, neighbours arent happy.
  19. ive had mine about a month, did a service and brakes on it last week and was surprised how easy it was to work on. i love driving it, find it hard to behave. lucky the wife has it most of the time. It is the most comfortable, smooth and strong ride i have driven for $20K. And it has all the bells and whistles. It is a touch thirstry ie 400km around town but thats 100 more than my SS. So far i am more than happy and most importantly so is the wife. It has much better build quality than an australian built car and please dont compare them to a Hyundai. seriously. Cant wait to get it out on a longer drive. Excellent bang for buck like all Nissan imports.
  20. just a rush of blood in the garage...........if i dont stop doing this ill f#ck it before i race it
  21. has anyone tried a SAFC or alike to try and trim the AFRs at all?

  23. can have mine for $60. ill even run it in for you on the 12th.
  24. you know that too much pump will also contribute to the problem.
