OK, after a week of perfect weather in QLD on holidays i took the oportunity to pick up my hand built mufflers from Gonzo, who is the exhaust guru. These are his new trick mufflers, and like i said they are nothing like you would have seen before. They are 3" merged into twin 3" pipes but with the spiral vortex baffles welded inside. They excellerate gas flow while muffeling sound. Gonzo also had a software programe on his PC which after entering some engine specs gave us the ideal collector diameter, merge collector area and ideal dinstance from collectors to merge collector. All of this aids in throttle responce, torque and peak power. Hope to have car back soon to fabricate exhaust and other tin-work etc.

ordered my trick mufflers from gonzo today, in QLD next week so will pick them up then, ill post pics when i get them as they are different from mufflers most of you would have seen. so planning on getting exhaust, tin-work & a few things in engine bay like breather can and overflow made. want to run car at that 6 hour at wakefield in march so have a deadline now. also need to tune car , set wheel alignment and suspension set-up and find a rear screen.

if you can get seats in fangio, jones or brabham you wont be dissapointed.

yeh you hire these little gps devices and they have a tv screen so you can watch the race, check lap times and splits, listen to team radio, go to incar camera on cars where they are fitted, all sorts of stuff. we would wait to see who was pitting then switch that camera on and watch the stop from inside the car. it was awesome.

shit, dont take my word for it, you could probably get a seat, we had issues back in october, but it was due to the fact we were trying to get 7 seats together. the pit lane stands and turn 1&2 stands would be full. but best money you will spend. and those little GPS things you hire are great too.

hey, your starting to sound like jase lol, yeah i think i need a deadline. might have to team up with those r31s and do some solid consistent ass kicking. seeing that its not about being fast. or some consistent drinking afterwards. thats probably more likely.

if you guys work out your numbers and find your short, let me know, i can be ready in 2 months. this would be fun and ease the pain of missing superlap. good chance to sort a car out without having to ring its neck. plus good oportunity to meet everyone, besides niel and duncan who i have had the pleasure.

you would be lucky to get seats in a stand now, maybe on the back of the track. we bought the four corners package this year, different stand each day, but we are in shoey stand on saturday and jones on sunday.

ahhh the old tow car is lighter than the trailer trick.....

mate of mine has scares all over his head to prove they are no fun. back in the day they used to chain the cars and use those hook and turn-buckle style fasteners. He fell asleep at the wheel and drove up the arse of something, the racecar lurched of the trailer and onto the tow car.........ouch. Cant be to care-full, so overated straps and safety chains and re-checking the load is all fine by me. I guess at the end of the day if we are not doing what i have seen people do and use pieces of rope, then we stand a better chance of eliminating risk.

There are pics in my LS1 Conversion thread in this section. Believe me this was on the expensive side when i had it done. PRO FAB Motorsport in Wollongong did it. Mostly do ANDRA style cages. that's a cheap moly cage. any pics? who did it?

Not sure what you drew for them, but my molly cage cost $3000. i then had an extra side intrusion bar fitted. at the end of the day you cant put a dollar figure on safety, it costs what it costs. if you want to save a couple of kilos on the way the moly is the go.

for those who arent sure these plugs are worth over $25 each.

New GCG XTR Hi-mount exhaust manifold to suit RB25DET. This is a hi-quality thick wall stainless manifoldsold supplied by GCG Turbochargers. This manifold has 12 months warranty against cracking or warping etc. Have had these manifolds fitted on customer cars for over 3 years with no issues. manifold is T3 flanged and has 38mm wastegate flange. New 100mm billett throttle body, polished with flange plate. Commodore TPS switch is fitted to suit Haltech & Microtech ECUs but Nissan switch could be fitted. also has base idle adjustment screw. New Polished Billett fuel rail to suit Rb25DET. Straight bolt on, all brackets included. To suit top feed injectors. This is for a big HP application where after-market fuel regulator and larger fuel lines need to be used. Will also suit speedflow fuel fittings. These are custom made hi-quality rails made here, not in Taiwan. This is the last one of 5 as the others have been successfully fitted on other customer cars. They were sold for $290. The fuel filters are to suit a custom fuel system where external pump and larger fuel lines are used. Asking price is $200 for rail. New Russell inline fuel filter. 30 micron.
