  2. depends on what you are fitting it in.... in a 32 it required engine mount brackets on the block to be fabricated, clutch master is off a 33, i ran a VL manual steering rack, but guys reckon you can leave the standard one, but i think its to tight, cross member is untouched. fabricated a gbox crossmember for the tremec, can leave standard radiator. exhaust, wiring etc goes without saying. All has been detailed with pics in this thread. If you plan on street registering this car i would talk to an engineer first.
  3. ive built half a dozen off the shelf combos with hi-mounts and they all support over 280rwkw and using a 38mm gate with no boost control issues. the only time we have had a problem was with the introduction of 100nos, and that was only with the gt35/40 with 1.00 exhaust housing.
  4. thanks for the kind words guys, but as you have heard i have closed the workshop indefinately. There were a few contributing factors that i wont go into but at the end of the day when going to work feels like a chore and not fun anymore then decisions have to be made. I found that i had lost the passion i had when i opened 5 years ago and that business pressure was increasing with all outside factors such as fuel prices & interest rates earlier in the year and now the global collapse, all which indirectly affect small business. Also the fact that my landlord felt fit to increase my rent 40% on my first renuwal after he new i was settled and established. At the end of the day i was working to pay bills, and felt guilty when id spend a bit of cash on the car. Going to work early and coming home late also has meant i have missed spending time with my young family which i will now have the opportunity to do. Thanks again to all of you who trusted me to work on your cars and supported me in my business. The good thing is now ill have more time to spend on my own car and hopefully get to some events to enjoy it with the rest of you guys. Cheers Stuart. PS Chevys Rule lol...
  5. main concern with s-hook style fasteners is in the case of an accident, which we hope never happens, the s-hook open up and you loose the load, sometimes off the trailer and onto the tow-car. i have personally seen this happen. I have been useing 2500kg ratchet straps with the ends that clip over themselves for years and havent had any issues. Usually use a safety strap also incase the car tries to come off the back.

  7. despite all the negativity surrounding the sport with all the changes etc, i think it is also very exciting, for once we will have a championship where half a dozen drivers could give it a good shake. its going to be new for everyone, and will certainly shake the dead wood loose. bring on Melbourne....

  11. noob question guys but dont your ECUs log everything, you go back and check it in the pits after your session? i know most would not time, but i remember when karting i ran a alfano digital dash and there was only one place on the track i got a chance to look at it which was on the straight. had time to see elapsed lap time, and peak RPM and then had to turn in. unless a warning light came on i just strangled it. the HP tuners software im running logs all engine sensors, and i have warning lights on the dash. At what stage of competition are these dashes necessary?

  18. that would be great, but have a few things to finish, and not sure when ill get her back from the sparky. but ill come along for a look anyway. was looking at getting it done for power-cruise, just so i could get it out somewhere to run it in and bed brakes in etc, but a track day would be better. its a shame superlap is on F1 weekend, would have loved to let her loose for that.
  19. where do you sighn up for that. why cant i run in opens, why is there a seperate class for v8? doesnt seem necessary.

I remember in the wash-up of the last superlap event that there were issues with cars having ring in drivers driving in classes other than pro. was this an issue because the drivers were experienced or because they were pro drivers? will the pro drivers be able to drive in the more amature classes again next year? I think it a little weird someone getting someone else to drive there car, but hey if the offers there....

  22. how can you put a motorsport event on the same weekend as F1, thats so dissapointing. we often talk about spectators and drivers supporting motorsport, going to watch etc, then put the biggest driving event on the same weekend as the biggest motorsport event of the year. that sucks. i so wanted to compete, but have already payed for all my tickets and accomodation, and i fear that there would be alot of other people in the same boat. i really hope it is successfull as id love to race in the next one. but its F1 for me every March.
