the thermostat housing is on the side of engine underneith intake manifold, so it wont be going there, besides it has to go before the thermostat, not after. id say just swap it out with standard guage sender, as it would be gay to run two temp guages, full auto salon temp tacho style.

i hope this is not the case as then i should not have sold my kart. is the loss of OP that bad as we still have 2 tracks, thats one more than most states. i know its a good track but could sacrificing one help with the maintenance of the others? -

weights of engine & transmissions have been talked about alot in this thread, but today i weighed a few components thanks too 'Victory' bringing a set of scales in. we worked out a few weeks ago that a stock standard LS2 weighs 90kg. That was with standard cast iron exhaust manifolds. The tremec 6 speed complete with shifter, slave cylinder & release bearing weighed 62kg. unfortunately i didnt weigh the old clutch & flywheel assy, but should have saved a couple of kilos there as the old 12" clutch was massive with the cast flywheel. Know running the steel flywheel with 10.5" clutch. For a comparison we weighed a RB20 5 speed. It weighed 39kg minus shifter. Ill weigh the clutch and flywheel assy tomorro. So i reckon a rb25 turbo box would weigh around the 50-55kg mark. so i think i may be giving 10-15kg away in transmission weight but be ahead 50-60 in the engine department. i have a rb25de in the shop to weigh once we figure out how to do it without breaking the scales. might have to use some scales from the butcher or fruit shop lol. Gary from superior suspension also weighed the stock springs which came up around 6kg each. the new coilover springs weigh 900grams. thats 20kg. but the new disks are heavy so i will be giving some weight back. ill weigh the old & new rotors 2morro. its a bit of a juggling act but hopefully it has lost and gained weight in the right places. 3D Sports Sedans have a minimum weight of 1125kg, but there is no minimum weight for super sprints so hopefully im under and can add and remove weight when necessary.

i understand 100% where you are coming from, but the issue is in NSW anyway is that knowone goes to watch, no spectators = no money and the sport will die. there has been talk of V8 supercar folding, i think thats why they are trying something different, i hope that if it is supported, that eventually moneys will filter back to the permanent tracks. and therefore us. -
just off the top of your head, what do you reckon it cost the singapore government to set up the lighting system used last weekend, note there was a light every 4 meters. i reckon tickets would double in price in melbourne to accomidate a night race, dont get me wrong, id still pay it, but its not a cheap exercise. that would be $600 i wouldnt have to spend at bar20.

i agree, as a spectator it will be excellent, lets give it our full support and see how it goes, if less whinging and more support was thrown towards motorsport as spectators it might also open doors for us the little people to get involved also. all the whinging and the first thing mentioned is the admission price to go watch....... we expect all this cash to be spent on tracks for us to race on when realistically there is enough, but cringe at the though of parting with a few dollars to go watch. -
yeh, actaually -12 fittings, but you get the idea. pickup is welded to the bottom of the sump and piped internally to the fitting. plumbed from there through the pre filter, then pump, then inline filter then into the block where the standard filter usually goes.

These are the rear 330mm with 6 pot calliper. I cant believe how thick the rotor is.
-
D2 rear brakes arrived today, was originally going the G4s but Darron at just jap suggested that the D2 were a little bit easier on the eye, otherwise the same, also had these in stock. accidently sent me the rears instead of the fronts, but i reckon he was just ensuring i would buy both sets lol. darron was excellent, cant fault just jap service.

i told you guys i have 250square meters of workshop space available. perfect for race-car storage and all workshop equipment available for use. enough room to store 6 cars with enough room to work on them, compressor, engine cranes, jacks, hoists, brake lathes, etc etc all at your fingertips. promise your cars wont catch v8 disease. Im serious, better than having them out in the rain.
-
you never know, it might rain and Webber might qualify 1st, only to finish 8th, thats if your mate doesnt try to run him off the road again.

rofl, im more of a pictures kind of guy myself. Went too SKs today, everything is underway. Front brakes also ordered from Just Jap. busy couple of weeks ahead.

Fuel Cell Questions For Track Work In Gtr
BezerkR32 replied to unique1's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
yeh, this is of upmost importance. ive run carter 14psi lift pumps for surge fill with Bosch 984 pressure pump and never emptyed the surge, but fuel return was always plumbed back to surge tank, then overflow back to main tank. -

im a chance of making this, fancy debuing the bumblebee at this meeting Duncan? -
time will tell, she might be too much car for me, or it might be a nugget. SK has suggested to set it up for time attacks and track days for the moment so i can get used to it, so suspension will be set up for semi-slicks. probably will need to get someone with some experience behind the wheel to give it the score out of ten. and some feedback for set-up. thanks for all the positive coments guys. i know its a bit hard for the avid nissan ethusiast to swallow, but i couldnt think of a better car to build.
-
hey Roy, as you know i have done the build from scratch including accident repair, some extensive panel work and paint etc. if you had a rolling shell with cage, suspension and brakes already done, and you were only looking at the engine/driveline conversion, you can buy brand new standard LS2 6litre for 4.5k, gearbox im not sure about but say 1500-2000. clutch, tailshaft, mounts, plumbing, exhaust, wiring etc. i would say 10-12k turn key. i reckon this thing will owe me somewhere between 30 and 35k now that i am doing the brakes and suspension which is roughly 2k a corner. it all ads up when you do everything. sometimes i think i should have started off with a better shell, but instead of paying 3k for the car i would have payed 6k. that extra 3k payed for the cage.

the tank is off the shelf but the sump with the 2 intank pumps is custom, as well as the feed lines being plumbed through the side of the tank into the inline filter.
