  1. A little off topic, but is anyone going to GP next year? Just booked accomodation, cant book tickets until the 23rd. Looking at the 4 corners package. 7 months to go, cant wait.
  2. this is brilliant. i did a skid pan day under similar istruction and it was excellent. This is the best $100 you could spend.
  3. you go alright for a pencil pusher. you should see my brother inlaw hold a tool. i only got nervous when you were using drills and stuff.
  4. 14.0 @ 98 came from my apprentices stock r32 4 door running 13psi on MTs. not bad hey.
  5. if you need some where for it to sleep id be happy to give it a home for you for a while. got 200square meters of empty workshop i was thinking of leasing out. it can live with mine, although you get it back with a Chevy in it lol. I was building mine with the intention of selling it, but know that its close to finished i dont think i could let anyone else have it. so the go-kart went on ebay instead.
  6. ive had cars run 11.70 with 285rwk. i doubt 30kw=1.3sec. the mph shows about 220kw at the wheels. your mph is showing about 220ish also
  7. hey, people are going to think you mean me.....we must be clear that Adrian was responcible for the bodgy stuff.
  8. congratulations to you and your team as it sounds like you were all busy. Nothing like putting in the hard yards and beeing rewarded with numbers like those. not sure if many people can appreciate whats involved in getting a car to be that fast and also consistent like you have your car running know. big well done.
  9. what was the wash up with the two pit lane incidents? was there a time penalty for massa or did they let it go?
  10. Maybe, but i think RBR hasnt progressed as strongly as the other teams. They seem to be strong at the begining of the season, where other teams might be struggling a little but dont make any further progress. Teams like Toyota with a massive budget are always going to come on strong. It is a shame when your a Webber supporter to see him struggling. Ren'os down on pace this weekend. Even Alonso upset with cars pace through practice and qualifying.
  11. again with the cams, and yes the intake is horny, just checking with harrop to see if it is worth the money. giving me some before and after torque and power figures on modified engines as it does nothing for a standard engine. Have to get suspension and brakes first. ill get it running with the standard intake first. Finished the dash, mounted battery and isolator switch today. also remote mounted oil pressure senders. temp sender is fitted in remote oil filter boss. all these little things take heaps of time, but getting through them slowly.
  12. hey, ive spent the last week doing everything up that he fitted. Full floating coil packs. LOL.
  13. lets just hope there is no wet races between now and the end of the season, that could be Massas only downfall. he was a bit dizzy last wet race. Doesnt seem to fase Kimi or Lewis.
  14. Anywhere south, Wakefield Park, Canberra etc. -4 in Canberra this week. We had oil temp issue at Willowbank at the winternationals in he drag car this year.
  15. interesting to note that oil has to reach operating temperature also. i have seen 240 volt heating elements in dry sump tanks to warm the oil up. cold oil can also cause issues.
  16. i watched the super taxis there a while back. we could see them into turn one, down into the hair-pin, up over the top and disapear around the mountain, then back into view again. how much do you want to see? this was sitting on the hill. there is no seating position at any track where you can see the whole track. i payed $600 for my ticket at Melbourne, we saw them come down the straight through turns one and two and that was it. and i loved it because i was there. the atmosphere of being at the track is awesome, and nothing stops you from walking around to get different vantage points. sydney are just poor supporters of anything, whether it be sport or motorsport. i dont think the track has anything to do with it.
  17. good too see a few cars in the build. guys, whats the go with the wiring looms? its something i havent given much thought, just figured the electrician will work out. and also, where do i have to mount battery isolator? does it have to be outside vehicle?
  18. price mainly, Harrop short shifter $197inc delivered. b&M rip-shifter $360+gst + delivery. saving for Harrop 8 throttle intake.
  19. Just a re-post of pics that went missing, some before & after shots.
  20. its not over till its done a pass.
  21. ha, ha. I thought i read somewhere that i had to retain the factory dash pad.....is this the case, otherwise i will fab a sheet metal one. im shore i read it in some CAMs rule or something. yes i know, 7000rpm is just off idle for a RB but screaming for a boat anchor. By the way, those switch clusters are made by ACA, they are not badly priced either. there are all sorts of combinations and colours. I only need a switch for lights and wipers and also the ignition/start switch, but heaps of options available.
  22. lost my last posts pics, 20 mins of uploading gone. doesnt matter. anyway have since finished dash & switch panel. Still have to mount oil pressure warning light & shift light.
  23. the clutch plate obviously wears out, but the pressure plate is what provides the clamp, what makes you think the clutch wont slip with a new clutch plate but second hand pressure plate? i think you gave people a bum steer by asking there opinion of what clutch combination to run, you should have asked what can i do for $150, then that poor bloke wouldnt have written 3 pages out for you. And yes a Jim Berry sprung centred ceramic will hold well over the power you are making and still be streetable.
  24. your clearances are not the problem, but your machine shop should have advised you on what to run. usually run larger clearance when revving engine harder, i agree that you might have starved it. also Castrol WTF. how did you measure these bearing clearances?
