  1. i guess your one of the luckier ones, as i have seen RX3 rotary empty a 3 litre surge tank in 300metres, as the lift pump was a holley blue and had two 044 running forward. there is alot of variables, but the smart way to plumb it is the way that has been described. but at the same time if your system is working for you, dont change it. i have tryed something completely different again in my car, should work but quite possibly could be a failure. its all trial and error in the end.
  2. F#*!K, im confused, Gt2840s-10witha60rs is the same as Garrett GT2540rs+.05inducer-boost pressure. The car is a circuit car and ran a nine second pass with two turbos bolted to the standard manifolds. simple. great effort, that would be fun to try and chase around corners. i obviously have to sharpen up on my turbochargers. i thought about bolting two on mine but i think now that i wont, might get the wrong ones. lol
  3. yeh i bought it from a young fella from the gold coast. he had advitised it on here. was about 18 months or so ago. Dont know where the pics went. Pulled the box out today. had 17mm clearance between the release bearing and pressure plate, causing excessive pedal travel to get the clutch to release. machining up a 12mm spacer to go behind the slave cylinder which is one piece with the release bearing on a tremec, that will give us the necessary clearance and a good pedal. Engine also coming out as to bolt heads and manifolds on. easier to do it all on a stand and only takes 15mins to pull it out seeing that box is already out. will weigh engine and box while they are out. ordered a harrop short shift kit this week, so ill fit that while box is out. just saving cash now to get suspension From SK. also looking at brake packages, looking like buying G4s or similar. just dont have the cash and cant see the point in spending 8k on brakes for a car that i dont know if i am keeping.
  4. Car has been at panel shop for last week getting fitted up. Had the boot sprayed also. Bonnet pins fitted etc and then a final buff, came up mad. cant believe it is the same car i picked up from Qld 18 months ago. this is the first time the car has had all the panels fitted. Got the lifters today and should have the heads next week. Pulling box back out tomorro to play around with release bearing clearance. Cpmputer arrived during the week. Going to purchase some guages, finish the dash and get the car wired so i can fire it. A few before and after shots.
  5. yeh, solid 14 to high 13
  6. yeh, thats a bit dissapointing. why dont you put the other vid up, you know, the one where your talking too it.........weirdo
  7. yeh, thought that might be the case, figured it was on top. funny that people dont run it this way.
  8. yes, its alive, and has had its maiden voyage around the block. all looks really good, no major leaks, cooling system bled, cams run in, fans cycling in and out, base timing set, fuel pressure set, needs a good cleaning up of the tune as it is fat but good enough to move around.
  9. Hey duncan, just looking at your fuel sytem and surge tank, there is only three fittings on it.....does this mean you dont run the fuel rail return back to the surge tank? We have found after setting up dozens of drag cars that the best way to eliminate any possibillity of fuel starvation is to run your lift pump to fill the tank (obvious), your feed out the bottom,(again obvious), but then the fuel return line in and then an overflow back to your cell. This method ensures that the surge tank is always full. i have seen cars set up without the return line plumbed in and they empty the tank quicker than the lift pump can fill it. admittedly drag cars run some big fuel pumps, like two 044s but then again you might be running similar. This system also allows you to put the surge tank wherever you want as gravity draining back to the main tank is not necessary as the surge tank is pressurised.
  10. about time, they say Rome wasnt built in a day but this was ridiculous... Shit mechanics...
  11. yeh, should work. I opted for the alluminium tank and modified it. i welded a two litre aluminium sump on the bottom. hole sawed the bottom of the tank first to drop two 040 bosch pumps through. The tank cost $280. the rest was just material. ill see how it goes.
  12. Dont tight corners give more opportunity for overtaking rather than faster corners? I watched the hungarian GP the other week, thats a fast flowing track and there were only two passes all race.
  13. ABS units sold. R32 boot trim sold.
  14. Lol Kimi has the right idea, rather have her hanging around in the pit than dad...
  15. Refer too what time will my car run thread,........ 14.0 @98mph
  16. are you guys using a lift pump with a swirl pot, as that is a drag style cell. just wondering how you controll fuel surge. The bar work in your cage is amazing. excellent job.
  17. its not that they dont work, we just cant afford to finish them.
  18. 1 sec between the top 8 drivers. thats big. be good to know what fuel load everyone was on, especially glock. thanks 4 results m3gtr.
  19. can someone give the qualifying positions, and Webbers q if possible.
  20. so when am i putting a clutch in for you? your already antother $400 OUT OF POCKET.
  21. if you had the clutch supplied and installed proffesionally Daikin will warrant it if the fault is not due to mis-use. if you installed it yourself you have little chance of a claim being paid. at the end of the day, a clutch plate is worth buggerall anyway.
  22. basically the same car, i cant see it being to much different. Spoke to SK today about a suspension package. You would be amazed on what i learned in 20mins on the phone. want to get the car running in the next few weeks and then sort suspension and then brakes. Might have to sell go-kart.
  23. as soon as i knock over the local convenience store a couple of times. im about 10k short of finishing.
  24. ABS units sold pending payment
