  6. what i have noticed with my build is that the engine & driveline have to be solid, but not overdone or overly expensive. The brakes & suspension & tyres are where the expence is. easy to put 10k away.

  9. i find it weird that circuit racers want to drag race, isnt that funny.
  10. the servicable items are all the same, except it is recommended to replace timing belt idler and tensioner, tensioner stud & bolt, timing case seals & water pump in the front. everything else is per usual. i would not go changing coils unless you have an issue. Get a diagnostic done to check sensor operation.

  12. why are u running a ceramic with 180kw? you can run organics up to 250kw no problems. Massive overkill mate, and the fact you are having issues is proof that you are running the wrong clutch for the application.
  13. Think of it as like an insurance premium. when your in a higher risk catagory, you pay more. i think the idea is if i have to pay X amount a year, make good use of the liscense. there are plenty of events to race.

  17. its all fresh, and has been clearanced, standard stroke 5.7 ls1. 11:1 comp, the asuall stuff. Running a really agressive roller camshaft, longer rocker arms and rocker gear to suit. thats it. they are really very simple. My tuner is confident of mid 350kw @ the wheels and 550-600nm torque. running the tremec with Jim Berry ceramic clutch and 4.3:1 GTR diff.

I had a similar discussion with Duncan earlier this week and he mentioned the Just Jap G4 packages. its the same deal. all there for 2k and is all new. i just havent heard what they are like...has anybody had anything to do with them? i was considering r34 Brembos but came across the issue that you have just described.

  20. i was looking at a new simpson, but you have to order it with out trying it on. They give you all the sizing measurements, but im not sure how it will fit.

  22. fair go jase, it was about 5 years before i even saw what was at the end of the track, ive only done a dozen passess. lots of laps of kembla though, so very inexperienced to say the least.

  24. shit, just need someone who can drive lol. this is my light weight powerplant. hopefully can provide the goods. i know its missing a few cams, but its got a few extra cylinders.
  25. hey guys, what is considered to be a good power to weight ratio? i am looking at the 900-1000kg and 350kw, i know that handling plays the larger part but is this in the ballpark?
