  1. i hate to ask but why would you not run a bov , you no what the purpose of one is, obviously not if you are considering not running one.....must be cashed up and prepared to replce compressor wheels at regular intervals.
  2. i find it amusing how people suggest it would be cheaper to set another car like a GTST up for drift, all cars will require a great deal of money to be spent. the only difference would be the initial purchase price of the car. you would be looking at 15k + the purchase price of the car easy.
  3. Hi mate, no didnt modify the rack, had to fabricate brackets to suit it though and weld them to the rear of the crossmember. Replaced the rack ends as to suit the skyline tie-rod ends. Also had to extend the steering linkage.
  4. this thread is more like it...............ha ha
  5. Yeh, ban them all...........bring back the im i a GTR want to be thread.....
  6. i used the original r32 mount and fabricated the bracket from the engine to suit. i think there are pics early in the thread. the oil filter relocation kit was a universal job. but the part on the engine is model specific. i also had to modify it as the fittings dropped below the sump level at first and i was worried about them being damaged if i came off the track or ripple strip. just cut it down and welded fittings to it instead of having to screw them in.
  7. Aaron Hambridge runs new national record for top alcohol dragster at winternationals. 5.57 @ 253mph. It was a busy weekend for us as the APM dragster suffered major tyre shake on its first qualifier on friday afternoon causing an ignition wire to break off the coil. After getting the car back to the pits it was found that the damage was much worse, the gearbox had broken away from the back off the clutch can and there was significant damage to the diff gears. A long afternoon and night saw the diff gears replaced and the gearbox repairedas to be ready for the next day of quallifying which saw a 5.609 @ 249mph. This was good enough for second place. Our second qualifyier of the day saw a 5.69 but the car had brocken the ears off the box again and also burnt an exhaust pushrod which resulted in a brocken lifter and damaged camshaft. Another busy night saw the camshaft replaced, and engine re-built. also the removal of the gearbox awaiting the fittment of a spare that we had flown up from wollongong that night. The next morning the box was fitted and engine fired. Fist elimination was against Ben Bray's funnycar, both left hard but Bray went up in tyre smoke at the 60foot mark. Aaron drove it through for a 5.61 @ 254mph. Second elimination was against Wayne Newby's dragster. Aaron cuts a .004 reaction and drives it through for the win. Final against Brett Stevens funny car. Unfortunately Aaron leaves a touch early giving the win too Stevens but runs it out the back door for a national record 5.57 @ 253mph. A bitter sweet ending to a excellent weekend. We worked like dogs but it was all worth it. looking forward too some sleep.....
  8. O.K. I officially ran out of patients today........ i was quiet at the shop, and was looking for something to do, so i put the engine in minus heads. Fitted flywheel, clutch, transmission, tailshaft, radiator, made the fan shroud, made the clutch hydraulic line and stuffed around with the oil cooler lines. got a fair bit done but might have made some extra work for myself having to fit heads in the car, but looks to be plenty of room.
  9. Hi Morten, i sent you a link in my thread for the radiator i used, but looking at the bar-work in the front of your car it looks like you may need a custom unit. unless the pics are decieving. PWR will build you one, you just have to draw it and they will fabricate it. I have used them for over a dozen conversions and the job is always perfect, and never a over-heating issue. they also do excellent thermo fans.
  10. yeh ha ha, what an idiot, i know lol. believe it or not they are the wheels and tyres that were on it when i bought it..... no wonder the bloke crashed it into a pole lol.. I actually got my outer rims back from the polisher last week and re-assembled them. once i get tyres fitted ill put them on the car.
  11. the radiator is a PWR unit to suit r32 gtr, i just had them modify the outlet size to suit the ls1. i also had them discard their fan bracket as i prefer to fabricate a full shroud. http://www.pwr.com.au/radiators_car.html#nissan
  12. can do it from my camera but not my phone. not a smart man jenny
  13. power steer assy will be next.....that will save me some grief.
  14. i have no doubt your little 6 cylinder will have massive amounts of power, we will have to see how it performs when braking and cornering is necessary. by the way, anyone need a whiteline front sway bar to suit r33.
  15. this is how it sits at the moment. Once cylinder heads are back, engine an be finished and installed, transmision etc, everything is ready to go.
  16. mine will run run before yours.......
  17. a full spool was mentioned. alot safer than a cig centre.
  18. wtf, if you are only a possibillity of beating people running 150mph, then i think we should pack it up know.
  19. mine wont be a problem, its adrians im worried about.
  20. no, that i think there would be more hours in fabricating a cradle than making a cage. therfore more expence
  21. whens your wedding?
  22. Yeh, you are probably right, seeing that was the plan last time we should probably try something different this time.
  23. mounted engine oil cooler thanks to 2rismo. also fitted remote oil filter. all tucked up behind front bar on passanger side. Systems 1 oil filter also fitted. just have to complete plumbing once engine is fitted. ill add some pics soon.
  24. u must be cashed up..... Pro fab Motorsport Fabrication. If a 8 point molly cage costs $3000, id hate to know what a cradle is worth. Obviously not as much steel required, but alot of hours.
