  1. obviously looking to do some track work. what other plans for it, engine suspension brakes etc. love the door trims..
  2. faaaaark ive forgotten how ugly the exhaust side of the rb26 was.........thanks for the reminder. has that car got coil packs in it fats, just wondering as the top of the graph gets angry.
  3. ended up finding that it was rocker ratio that was the issue, not the brand so replaced the 1.8s with 1.7s. we tried to run a group buy on custom oil pans, but had no interest. if you want one done PM me. there are pics of the rb sumps i have done on here, but like i said people were to tight to spend $550. rather rebuild engines lol.
  4. did most of the internal baffles and gates today. time consuming but almost done. just need to add a few in the sump and make sure its all clear when bolted in.
  5. ahh, good charles, good too see the projects are coming along. the little jeep looks great. sooner its done you can turn your attention to the track cars. I started the oil pan/sump modifications on saturday. actually almost finished it with only some internal gates left to do and put a relief in the front fot the sway bar. hope to have it finished this week.......then just have to swap it with the one in the car and re-plumb the cooler and external oil filter. Pretty happy so far as it only took about 4 hours.
  6. hey mate, im happy to share any info you might want, also my build thread is prety detailed. i see your familiar with it. i have been asked the question about rego and by my understanding you can legally engineer and register up too 6litre na. why you would need to then turbo the car is beyond me. the conversion is very straight forward and almost the easiest i have done. the fact you can buy a ls2 crate engine complete from intake too sump for 4k also makes it the cheapest. the mass of aftermarket parts whether it be cams, rocker gear, valve springs, etc is readily available and cheaper than any nissan part. I love turbod 6s, but they dont compare to the savage torque of a healthy v8. good luck.
  7. very good. sump is well underway so i should be ok.
  8. mmmmmm. anything that is x matt is going to be well used lol. rattlle rattle is bad Matt lol. time for chev me thinks.
  9. shit you guys are using some ealy big words...........im going to bed.
  10. i agree with toyotas sentiments though, cant see too much f1 technology being thrown at the new hybrid camry, unless it has kurs device lol. It would be better if we could get closer to the action, be able to talk to pit crew, not necesserally drivers but get a bit closer.
  11. this system works well, i did a similar thing with 2 040s in an alloy cell. keeps pumps cool and no excess plumbing.
  12. guys could i ask that you let me know the latest i can enter as im trying to have car ready and am not sure, otherwise first reserve. should have sump done, but not diff. dont want to commit then not be able to make it. ptherwise hepling out and drinking is a good option. ps, will be cold in july.
  13. who seconded these guys nominations again?
  14. i dare say there would have been a dont come monday dealt out. Commentary guy in pit lane reckons he saw it and told the mclaren guys, but the thing still hurt itself in that short period of time. did it do the warm up lap or did it fail during it? cant remember.
  15. What an insane place to race, thats nerve racking to watch, there are so many variables to bring you unstuck, the incident with 3 laps remaining is a good example. apparently big aero package upgrade coming for RBR in the sphincter of the universe.......will they become the untouchable. or will it make little difference. big decisions to be made in RBR garage now, and talk of Webber packing it up is all but gone. Koobs rumored to go to Ferrari and Massa to RBR........are they going to run 3 cars? Massa might find himself in a Williams lol.
  16. brakes are great, they were recommended by Duncan who is a good source of info and advice for most things bar pushrod v8s lol. They easily outbtake the mechanical grip of the tyre if you jump on them. i realed off 6 laps straight, 3 of which were in the 1.08sand the rest 1.09s and they were great. its the first time ive had the confidence to climb on them hard as the car setup is improving all the time. i could cover the brake in turn 1 at 240kph without unsettling the car and easily make the turn in to turn 2, very happy. but my car is light so doesnt work them as hard.
  17. ok Roy, its only a warm up lap while tuning but its ok.
  18. its a fair call, i think nascar has a percentage of lap time you have to be inside. there are definate safety issues. but mercedes were also over a minute off the race pace which is huge, but 20 secs a lap is dangerous.
  19. looked like it broke something in the suspension before the tyre let go. i watched the super slow-mo and you see the front left hand corner drop and wobble and then the tyre goes. comentary didnt pick it up, but they seem to miss alot lol.
  20. this is unfortunately the correct way to do it. requires removal of intake manifold to tap vacuum ports behind throttle plates. you can plumb into the balance tube and it will work but reading is not as accurate.
  21. lol, the reverse sychology worked. nasty suspension failure for lewis......did well not to go into the barrier a lot harder. Vets not happy. likes being out infront, not so good when he has to scrap.
  22. lol, its for roadworthy. over here it is the same with commercial vehicles. look at the new tritons, no tint on the front windows but 20% on the rears. passenger vehicles are restricted to under 30% here where in japan there is only restriction on the front windows, not the rear.
