  1. great effort Sean, your car sounded strong on the track. And also a good idea to keep it on the black stuff. Something i havent mastered yet lol. My little brother had a good day in his Ford Focus lapping in 1.20s. He had the help of some new Azenis on the front and some used yokis on the rear but was very smooth. Good for a NA focus. Great to meet Noel. Unfortunately didnt get to drive on track with him....next time. Sorry i didnt get to spend as much time with everyone that i would have liked. We were chasing a tuning issue and it took us 3 sessions before we recovered any data so we were stressing early on. The car was seriously lean all over the map. in places afrs were 16.0. Just goes to show the difference from a dyno tune to a track tune. After getting it sorted the car was making alot more power down low and really pulled at low rpm in 3rd which i saw alot of on this track. Was brushing the limiter in 4th in the last session and seeing 240kmh just before turn 1. The diff slowly deteriated and i was single wheeling out of the tighter corners so called it a day. Happy to have got the tune sorted though. Now just have to re-build the diff centre and buy some tyres. Very happy with the lap times in the last session.
  2. yeh thumbs up to the circuit club guys who ran a great day. Weather held up well although a little chilli for the spectators apparently. mixed day as we had issues early getting on top of the tune, but after finally being able to collect some data we got it very close. car was suffering from understeer for most of the day, could only get 3 or 4 decent laps per session before the fronts went off. After finalising the tune the car was making alot more power and the 20 year old lsd started to get tired so getting traction out of the tighter corners like turn 2, the fishhook and the final turn was difficult. was very happy to rattle off a few 1.08s in the last session with the best being a 1.085. bit of work too do but alot achieved also. good to see all the sau guys and girls setting pbs also.
  3. SEE YOU SOOOOON
  4. remove calliper and push pistons all the way back, or vice versa. Measure distance between pistons. take rotor thicness away from this measurement and divide by 2. This will give you the maximum pad thicness including the pad backing that you can run.
  5. there was a r33 at the sau shownshine late last year that was bagged. if you pull up the shownshine tthread you can see some pics, it was a full show car with air brushing. sorry, dont know the guys name.
  6. OK smarty, he snuck it in lol. what time you planning to arrive Ben? Save me too spots. we are aiming to get there around 8sh. we are going back up picton rd then down the hume, should hit the hume by 7pm. hope we dont get lost.
  7. you use the moroso calculator, how far before the finish line? you can go a taller tyre if its only 50 meters.
  8. yeh thats correct. My missus was getting insurance quotes for her stagea and a few mobs would not insure it with one fitted.
  9. probably would be a good idea to have the battery isolater switch position marked. The rest i think you have covered. i recieved the itinerary etc from circuit club today but my computer wont open PDF anymore. anyone else get it? what does it say?
  10. oh lizy, always on the lookout for a young boy in a skyline.
  11. pretty sure you can purchase the wakefield liscence on the day
  12. i agree, cheaperest option. maybe do that to get it running and slowly build the existing engine up on the side.
  13. not sure a ceramic clutch was designed to be ridden and or slipped when reversing or any driving for that matter.. mate its a performance clutch designed for motorsport applications, should have put a heavy duty organic in your daily. In saying that ive fitted dozens and never had a noisy one.
  14. bring your helmet brus....
  15. lol Ben. dont you just put 200ml of fuel in it and just turn up?
  16. i would not recommend it. bottom of the welsch pluds as a maximum. but run extra piston to bore clearance.
  17. yeh footage please, keen to do one of these.
  18. ok, serviced the car yesterday, nothing special, just oil & filter. also dropped the rubbish nulon gearbox oil out and replaced it with some Repsol synthetic matic atf. Much better. checked and adjusted the wheel alignment, running 6 deg caster, 3 deg neg camber and 1.5mm toe out on front. 3 deg neg camber and 1.8mm toe in on rear. will see how it goes. Bring on wakefield.
  19. last year when we went down for f1 we were sitting in the Transporter Bar at about 6pm and noticed all these people heading in the same direction with afl singlets on. Kids with balls you name it. everybody was going. i turned to some people in the bar and asked them who was playing and they were shocked i didnt know. i explained i was from sydney so they didnt kill me. its a religion down there, one that i dont understand but its massive. Try finding a pub showing the league lol.
  20. yeh i do but im not the best person to ask. Ive only driven on them twice, i was starting at 26psi cold and seeing where they end up hot, some of the other boys will no what is ok.
  21. thats a pretty standard ceramic turbo failure.........i guess the new one will be a steel wheeled turbo. excessive exhaust temperature due to lean burn will cause this. Definately have some tune issues.
  22. your fuel consumption makes me sick
  23. hmmmmmm, im not sure if that looks like fun or is like one of those amusement rides that scares the shit out of you to the point that you cant wait for it to be over so you can get off. the shots with the cliff is unbelievable. Hats off to you people...much respect.
