huh? i'm the one purchasing it with missing id tag. i'm anal either way :shake:

i didn't think a xr6 turbo was that quick.... that's quite impressive.. but i read from wheels magazine that the gearbox is very weak and the auto is a better package. Apparently they are bringing out a more pumped up xr6 turbo in the near future.

am i being too anal about this whole situation, i mean the car can be registered here in oz as it is complianced?

ylwgtr2... how would one go about doing these checks? i'm actually quite concerned, on the one hand, the car is exactly what i want and on the other hand i'm troubled by this missing tag.

that's a really good point about the authenticity.... i'm actually in the position of purchasing a brilliant car and the only thing that is of concern is the missing id tag... i guess it's just a decision of whether you want a good quality car or an authentic car.

Hence, a car with the id plate missing isn't such a big issue, rather a car with the wrong id plate maybe. A major reason why the id plate maybe missing is because the car is complianced as a different year due to the limited number of compliance plates...... hence they have to remove the id plate.... that in itself is dodgy, but once complied and registered, then it's no hassles... so i have been told.

spoke to a few people regarding this, and the no body seems to have a problem with it... as long as the car is registered and complied, then it's fine. just hard to explain to someone why it was removed.

Dudes, i know of this particular car in question (not the one pictured) ... it is complianced and has the compliance plate but there is no build plate/id tag... hence funkymonkey, how would this have complied. I guess the question is, would buying such a car be an issue?

thanks for the response guys, but i already got it checked out at Revzone.... they did a pretty good job cos i'm mates with them... vspecv... thanks for the offer, if you were early i would've done it with you guys.. and you are right... racv wouldn't have picked up the clutch on the way out. so... apart from the clutch.. i'm pretty much set to get the beast.... i finally own the legend...woohoo.

Actually there was a weird noise behind the dash somewhere.. sounds like something loose or electrical.... well i called Revzone, but not sure if they are any good.

The car has been previously inspected by Race Pace when another purchaser was planning to buy it. They said it was a great car... apart from the usual little things, hence they don't wanna inspect again and they don't do inspections now cos of certain events. Should i just take their word for it cos i can't seem to find anybody else... ylwgtr2> if you wanna come for a cruise to bayswater, then i wouldn't mind your advice:P

Hyper-Tech are very dodgy... i have heard many stories about them which i don't know if i should share..... I brought my previous car there for pre-purchase inspection. I will never go there again.

Guys, Apart from Ice Performance or Race Pace, where is the best place to get a pre-purchase inspection on a GTR? I know a few places have been mentioned here, but are there any good mechanics or panel beaters you would recommend.... Anyone from here think they can do the job? Cheers.

Is that single plate (i'm not too familiar with clutches) and what is it like to drive it in peak hour?
