  2. nah not really mate , i have 2 already . my idea of cheap is that i really only want a bare c33 shell with a roof lining .... and a sunroof the rest will be kinda useless to me apart from being cheaper to post

  4. what's happening everyone , i'm chasing a c33 laurel for cheap , preferrably with a sunroof for resto , i don't care too much for outside condish as long as it's straight underneath , has a good front window and is registerable , can anyone help me???????????

  11. cheers guys , it's a goer by the looks of it , the laurel will be off the road as of this w/e. i won't have it done in one weekend though , gunna sell the 20 and box to fund injectors instead of going for the cheap n nasty std - high flowed . i'll post up a thread when i start
  12. yeah cheers mate , i think i've pretty much talked myself into going 2530 combo , i have everything except injectors and the turbo itself. I didn't explain myself very well in the forst post sorry , part of my main worry is reliability, i suppose i'm kinda trying to cut corners and 'do it on the cheap' considering it's more of a side project while i'm saving up for my main project (rips bottom end , hopefully with a 26 head with an aim of around 400rwk hopefully reliably ). Do you guys think the bottom end is strong enough to hold around 280-300rwk with only a basic rebuild? or am i kidding myself? edit: it only needs to live for 12 months
  13. hey everyone , i've come to kinda a crossroad with my daily spec drifter thingy , as much as i love the lil rb20 for its unbreakable-ness im getting pretty sick of the severe lack of low down forward motive force.... so i've decided to either whack in a 25det or make it a 30det (just so you know this is kinda my spare car/daily/do while i'm building my other car) . My plan would be to use an average r33 25 head on a 160klm rb30 that's in my umm.. other daily/loaner with a ebay spec T67 and supporting mods . Now , my question is basically , is it worth the extra hassle to make the 25/30 over just whacking in the 25 for an aim of around 280-300rwk , being daily driven (because the n/a auto r31 bores me to sleep) , the rev range i drive in with the rb20 is under 5k 99% of the time so it's not really being thrashed so much. Any advice is appreciated . cheers p.s i have searched but i haven't really found the answer/s i'm seeking , i'm not so much looking for a power comparo , more of a drivability comparo and/or advice cheers

  15. yeah i know dyno sheets won't show much but you can definately feel the difference. I thought the same thing which is why i sent it [the 2530] to be checked out . to give you an idea : the kkr starts to spool around 2krpm and hits full boost around 3.8k , slow to get to full boost i know but you can definately feel it from 2krpm any way to try to accelerate , the 2530 made boost around 3krpm and full boost around 4krpm in memory , made it feel like a laggy pos in comparison on the road , both are/were running around 20 psi on 98ron (bp) the hks had gtr injectors and pfc , the kkr is using nistune with std injectors is about the only difference in setup

  17. this would be my choice with the worked head , sell the hks manifold and buy a 6boost with trust flange or something similar .... or buy the china copy with t3 the problem there is you can get some pretty good high flowed these days that would simply eat your hks t300 i disagree , personally i'm not a fan of hks 2530 after owning one ,the kkr 430 i put in its place is a more responsive turbo , And i have the dyno sheets to prove it! ( i actually sent my 2530 away to be checked/rebuilt if need be but it was given a clean bill of health )

  21. best with a metal string/guitar string/window take outerer , but a thin spatchuler and some heat (and some care) and a bottle/drum of wax and grease remover to get rid of the glue left over then some cut and polish to try and make the paint not look so mis-matched will do the trick

    how is the sump bolted to the block mate? is this jason flakemores old one? , engineered?
  23. looks like it has potential mate , t67 and supporting mods from gt garage?? . r33 are a pretty good choice for a drift car imo , they are essentially a lwb s14 so don't be fooled into thinking it will be no good. your car is in pretty good hands with nick and ben , i'm 100% sure you'll be happy with the end reult! , did you want a list of suspension etc mods you will be wanting?
