well the cheap way is to shim it, r33 diffs seem to lock easy (yes i tried it out on mine but didnt like it because im pretty gentle on my car), im betting a shimmed up 33 vlsd would last a couple years because when i pulled the shim out of mine it still worked the same as before i put it in. if you dont mind your diff being virtually locked under 40kmh then id go for a 1.0mm shim, if you dont want it locked go for a smaller one, it does work well and for alot cheaper than a mech lsd. saying that a mech 1.5 would be your ultimate, perhaps shim it while you save for the 1.5 way?
