  1. For those looking for a manual turbo wagon.. (not a stagea) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/371270-toyota-caldina-gt-turbo-1998-manual/
  2. I have decided to sell my daily driver, my GTR is back on the road and no longer need a daily as I'll be catching public transport to work (cant justify spending $22 a day on parking alone) So for SALE is: 1998 Toyota Caldina MANUAL (rare) * 76,000km * Factory Fitted 3sgte * Factory Manual * Privacy Glass on rear cabin I have owned the car for almost a year now and purchased it when it had 64,000km, it was in completely stock, genuine condition. In the past 6 months, I have installed: * 17" AVS-Model 7 wheels * JIC coilovers * Custom exhaust * Boost Gauge Still have standard wheels with good tyres and standard suspension, which I will be providing with car. Came with: * Carrozzeria MP3/CD player * HID headlights It has been well looked after and currently has just under 76,000km with service completed every 5,000km since I have owned it. Its a quick wagon, fantastic alternative to a Stagea, much better fuel economy and dare I say, its quicker and more responsive. Not to mention, cheaper Rego and Insurance. It is in VERY good overall condition and will suit fussy buyers. Still has 3 months rego left. Looking for $14,500, happy to consider offers, but i'm definitely not in a rush to sell, so please no lowball offers. Needs to be seen to be appreciated
  3. but in all honesty, if I was ever to build an engine again.. I would only ever let Paul do it.. regardless of what it is! He just called me up then, to give me his advice on what the issue in the tune may be! On a sunday night! now thats a bloke who cares
  4. nope
  5. would eventually like to pop her on a 4wd dyno though, to get a true figure
  6. you're right.... i've been going there for a few years now, he's always been good. Might give him another crack at it, just give him a de-brief of how its responding on the road etc
  7. any idea what he charges these days?
  8. i think you might be right...
  9. Not entirely happy with the tune.. Terrible on cold starts, need to turn ignition over twice before it starts, when it does, timing is all retarded and drives sluggish. A lot better when it warms up, but still a bit hesitant when just cruising along at 2500rpm. Not sure if this has something to do with the larger injectors? When foot is 3/4 or flat on the throttle, it does pull very smoothly. I'd like to see final boost setting around 22psi and lean it out a bit more, noticed it's chewing through petrol pretty quickly at the moment!
  10. simple things like changing monthly repayments to weekly can also save you bucket loads in the long run! just check out the calculators..http://www.banksa.com.au/personal/home-loans/tools/home-loan-calculators/repayments on a 300k mortgage, you save around 100k in interest over the life of the loan
  11. 1st tune = 281.4 rwkw @ 18psi running a bit rich at the mo.. will be tinkering with it a bit more
  12. Few things came up (not car related), hasn't been tuned yet. Its at the workshop: Injectors installed Fuel Pump installed AFMs installed PFC installed Ready to rock'n'roll!! tuner is away until friday though, will hopefully have a result then.
  13. got home after work last night and just couldnt help myself.. picked up the keys and went for a nice drive to hahndorf I must say Paul has done a fantastic job its very quiet and smooth..... until I put my foot down and you hear its growl via the exhaust. I had the biggest, cheesiest grin on my face driving back down the hill. Cannot wait until the tune next week!!! Coming home along portrush rd, I saw headlights speeding towards me in my rearview, I automatically thought "great.. gonna get pulled over and harrased by the po-po first night out" turned out to be an fpv, he pulled up next to me.. revving whilst driving side by side, trying to get my attention. I didn't respond, douche then floored it, lost traction and almost lost it.. friggin idiot! Where's the police when you need them?
  14. well the good news is, the car has got a sweet running heart again! the bad news is.. ive been sooo busy over the last 2 weeks, i've only had time to drive it home... thats it!! keen to take it out this sunday, and then due for a proper tune up friday week
