  1. im bringing sexy back! YEAH! book tow truck... Check! book workshop... Check! call Paul... Check! after 5 months, its time to take the dust off and get it running again. All the enthusiasm's back!
  2. just bought one for a friend, dont expect them to be any cheaper over there than they are here. they are still holding their value quite well... that is unless you want a clapped out one
  3. he's moved it to adelaide and given it a wash! thats gotta be at least $5k worth of effort in that
  4. its like banging your head against a brick wall.... had the same happen to me last year.. both front wheels were buckled. Tried the council, they told me to speak with the contractor. Spoke with the contractor, they advised me to speak with council. Sent both a letter of demand... all just a big waste of time!
  5. even better yet
  6. saw it again today, this time on portrush road around 10.30am just past the parade intersection. gave the 5-0 a call but with the speed he was doing, theres no chance they'll get there in time. didn't spot the driver either, by the time i realised it was the right car... it was gone.
  7. hey mate.. sucks to hear! i'm pretty sure I saw this heading up Magill road about 45mins ago, heading towards the hills.
  8. paid today, pm sent cheers for organising this!
  9. count me in, 35% all round.. just gotta work out a way to roll the gtr there
  10. Couldnt agree more, I should have gone to an RB expert, however it wasn't a decision based on pricing. I had received a number of quotes, all within the same vicinity. I truly believed that this person knew what they were doing, he has produced loads of motors with great success
  11. Bit of a funny story.. This happened over a year ago while the engine was being put together the first time, I had the car parked on my front lawn for a little while. I live on a quiet, dead end street in a half decent suburb so I thought it was quite safe leaving it there for a few nights. Anyway.. so One day Luke (Heslo) came around and had a bit of a look at my car and says to me "Dude, you realise your cars unlocked" I was certain that it had been locked! So we had a closer look and realised someone had tried to flog it!! The ignition barrel was drilled out at the door had a small hole drilled (near the handle) So these dudes, would have been all excited, thinking they're about to take off with a GTR! they couldn't have worked out why it didn't start??!... well here's a lesson for you douche bag!...... next time check it has a motor
  12. Thanks Andrew, appreciate the offer however I am a bit cash strapped at the moment, plus this is my weekender, so its not essential for me to be able to use the car in the meantime. Cheers for offering though
  13. could be a number of things, trojan, card skimming etc lodge a dispute and im confident you'll be reimbursed, its just the inconvenience thats annoying!
  14. Paul is most definitely THE MAN had a good chat with him on the phone today.. top bloke, really knows his stuff!
  15. I'd rather not divulge that information at this early stage.. I will keep everyone posted on future events and pending on the outcome I'll reveal the builders name, I think this is both in his and my best interests
  16. even if the original builder was to offer to fix it, I would hesitate taking it back, there's been a few other issues that occurred during the build which have now made me lose all confidence in his workmanship. 1. When he installed the oil pump, he fitted the wrong gasket, causing it to leak instantly on start up, to his credit he did fix this 2. The extended sump which he welded himself had started leaking within a week (he didn't fix) 3. Now this knock.. Three strikes your out I believe?
  17. Paul... i'm lost for words.....that is a VERY generous offer indeed I'd be delighted to take you up on that offer. Scanning all the receipts for you now
  18. yeh mate it blows big time.. I've already received a couple of offers but the thought of getting rid of the car sickens me.. so I don't think that's an option 'the night is darkest before the dawn'
  19. im pretty sure thats against the rules, plus I don't think it would be in my best interest either as I may yet have to deal with him
  20. funny you say that.. I offloaded a Manual Chaser to finance this build.. perhaps I sold the wrong car? The pleasure from driving the GTR far outweighs that of the Toyota though
  21. yeh i've heard about it before, definitely going to be following it up
  22. nope, didn't sign any clauses or waivers
  23. Oil level and pressure is perfect! I haven't launched it ever and not once took it over 7000rpm, been waiting to install support mods before giving it a real drive.
  24. I've had the discussion of liability with him, he argues if it had been of his doing, then this would have happened within the first couple of hundred kms I'm going to lodge something with consumer affairs/fair trading and see what comes from it... but to be honest I don't think I can go through the whole process again.
