  1. When i put my screwdriver in the latch, the light turns off. I imagine if you unplug the harness, the light should turn off too. However if you have something on the 'door circuit' which is grounding, even if you unplug the boot switch harness your lights may stay on, becuase the problem is somewhere else, not there.
  2. If i had your car, i'd now start looking at the alarm wiring, and maybe take it to an autoelectrican! It sounds like you've determined there are no problems with any of your boot/door switches.
  3. I'm still learning about photography, how do you get the background blurred and the car sharp? Are you panning the camera with the car as you take the photo? Thanks mate, nice pics.
  4. These are still for sale... consider any offer...
  5. This is what mine looks like. You can push a screw driver in to simulate the boot closing, and should see your boot light turn off. Does yours look the same as mine? There is a black plug half way up the boot, if you think the lock is dodgy, disconnect the plug.
  6. Thanks for the pic Mark, do you think if you took the covers off, you'd see the holes? What about on the front seats - i cant see how it'd be possible to thread a hole through the seat - how do they fit?
  7. My old pioneer deck had 3 levels of 'loud', i found my music sounded best on the middle level. This sounded better than if i had loud off, and turned the volume up more - my belief was that worked like an equiliser. I dont think its going to blow your amp up! Equilisers are needed on the best sound systems - to tweak the frequency response. Just because you choose pop or rock instead of flat, doesnt mean you have a shit sound system.
  8. That could be your problem there! So if you disconnect your CD Player Head Unit, you can turn your head lights on and they don't short out?
  9. Can anyone post a manual for this? I'm interested in utilising the advanced features of GPRS.
  10. There are some really cheap pager alarms on Ebay, like $45 + $20 postage. Try searching for item 330228454424, or just search for "pager alarm". You could just wire up the bits you need, if you dont want a siren dont install it.
  11. So the strings go through the seats, or around them? Thanks
  12. I've made multiple purchases from Sliding Performance, nothing but praise. They need to hurry up with the new website though, its been down for a while.
  13. How much did you guys pay for your HID kits? I presume they are simple to install - install a globe the same way you change your normal globes, and then mount the electronics somewhere. There is a group buy kit for $145, seems too cheap. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Gr....html&st=20
  14. Did you guys push any threads through the seat to get a tight fit, or are the covers just slipped over the seats? I know someone has used spray-on adhesive to install them before, what i'm trying to work out is if they are removable or not.
  15. There is an illumination wire which i think is black with a yellow stripe. If you have wired this incorrectly, it would cause the problem you are describing. Depending on your head unit, it may not need this wire, in which case you need to tape it up so it doesnt short. I know of someone who thought being a black wire, it was a ground, and wired it up to the head unit. There actually isnt any ground wire from the wiring loom, you need to ground your head unit by running a wire to the chassis.
  16. I like the GT badges on the side, but i dont miss having the S on the bonnet.
  17. Hrmm every car i've had, the alarm has always used the same boot switch. The alarm taps onto the common 'door' circuit, so that when the circuit goes to ground, it triggers the alarm. Bumble_Bee - have you tested your alarm to make sure its working? Try arming your car with the windows down, then unlock the door an open it to see if the alarm sounds. I wouldnt be surprised if your alarm isnt working at the moment which could be of concern!
  18. Those photos are ok for a camera phone! Nice scenery, use a decent camera and you'll end up with some awesome shots.
  19. The narva website (narva.com.au) has a pretty good catalogue on there. Hella also have a good catalog, but its hard to find on their page. I was looking for an LED spoiler brake light and eventually found it.
  20. You might be better posting in the General Maintenance forum? You can get a wiring harness for most turbo timers, so they are "plug and play" - that way you dont need to cut that many wires, and if you get defected and need to remove it, its easy to unplug it.
  21. What badges got stolen? I dont have a badge on my bonnet, only have the key-hole skyline cover on the boot and i think that looks good.
  22. This is another good link - this is DIY Tutorial on how to change them! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Di...o-t205400.html#
  23. Try PM'ing Matt/Gary. I checked part availabilty when i ordered my whole package last week, and everything was in stock except a strut brace. Matt is quick to reply to PM's too.
  24. I've got a sliding performance high flow, and its got the 8x double blades, looking for some photos but they arent on this computer...
  25. From what i understand, if you open your boot, the boot-switch will be in the lock mechanism on the boot lid (not on the car chassis itself) You'll notice a black rubber tube on the right - the electric wire runs through there. This is what i've been told, havent had time to pull mine apart yet.
