I sanded and sprayed mine, so its fairly smooth, so i dont have that problem.

I've seen a pic where a guy modified the screen, and was able to use it like a computer screen and put whatever he wanted on there. Well worth $900, they are rare as! Aussie dollar is good at the moment too!

My limited knowledge of RF would say that's not a SAPOL equipped vehicle. SAPOL use the Government Radio Network (GRN) which are only require a 40cm antenna for their digital signals. Highway vehicles have HF radios which have the big antennas, but theres no reason to put one on a city vehicle like that, and it doesnt look like a HF antenna. I've seen plain clothed officers in an old holden crusing around TTP before, they normally dont equip the vehicle with a mobile radio, but use their handhelds. And they arn't undercover persuit vehicles, but more like a spotter. My guess is its a CB enthusiest, as someone else suggested. Probably have a scanner in there to pick up a wide spectrum of frequencies hence the need for a long antenna. The End!

How do you know they are photoshopped? I dont mind a bit of dish, but preferred a smooth flowing sorta look for my skyline, wingless.

I love these wheels, any idea what they are? Advanti Racing have something similar in their range, which are 19x8 inch. Do you know what is the widest rim you can get, with no dish? Maybe 19x8.5?

I'm in the same situation, about to buy my first set of rims and was thinking bigger was better, but then you're always paying more for tires... im undecided what way to go. I guess its a personal decision, if ya happy with 18"s, go with those, or if you want something a bit more special, go 19. I'm expecting 18's will be a bit more harsh riding than my current 17's.

You get what you pay for, so for $500 you can't expect much. That'd be basic materials (MDF+carpet) and a couple hours labour only?

I'd be considering an earthing upgrade + bigger alternator before a second battery, no use having 2 batteries if you cant charge em.

I have 6.5" splits in the front, which have lots of bass (Rainbow 265Kicks). But then again I probably set aside $500 just for the installation of front splits, which included dynamat both inside and outside door skins and dynaxorbs behind the drivers too. You might get more bass out of a set of 6x9's in your parcel shelf?

I've got a question sorta on the same topic here..... Is pinging the same as KNOCK, measured by the powerfc? I think i've heard my engine ping, but when i check my powerfc, the max knock was only 20. So would i be hearing ping, or something else?

Have you put the car up on jacks and inspected your exhaust system to look for leaks? I've been in a couple of cars which have been fumey, and would suggest looking for the source of the exhaust leak first.
