  1. Probably a bit lighter! Not much to this single-din fold out screen, the double-din stock thing weighs a lot!
  2. That bracket is approx 1mm thick sheet steel, but it has pressed ridges in it - to increase strength and rigidity. Would you suggest increasing the thickness of sheet steel slightly, to ensure the mounts are stiff enough?
  3. I hope their stupid enough to drive around in it for a few days, and to be caught behind the wheel by the cops. Actually... with our justice system, they'd probably get a slap and be on their way to take more of our cars.
  4. Hope you get it back quickly, without too much damage mate. Did it have an alarm? I'd like to know how switched on these theives are, and if they are just going for cars without alarms, or disabling the alarm/immobiliser?
  5. Hey guys, I've mounted a few head units in my time, usually pioneers or jvc's which bolt straight in. My new Xenarc fold out touch screen does not line up well with the double-din brackets, can someone pls share some advice on the best way to mount it? Im thinking either: (1) drill a couple holes in the bottom of the bracket, although these will be close together and may not provide much support. (2) make new brackets to replace factory ones, quite difficult (3) modify existing brackets, weld in a bit of plate to make them wider and stiffer
  6. Good luck gettin in touch with pk, i've PM'd him a cpl times without reply, he must be busy!
  7. Where did you get 311 AUD? Email from Greenline: NISMO Fuel Pump R33 GTSt: 33,264 yen Shipping: 4,100 yen TOTAL: 37,364 yen AU$363
  8. Hey Guys, I've decided to try a set of Ferodo TS2000's on the front and rear of my 33. Can anyone suggest some places which sell these at a good price, either in SA or online? I've heard prices of approx $180 for a set, Ebay seller stewie108 sells them for $154 for the fronts, not sure if rears are cheaper/same price.
  9. It its stolen and been dumped, and they've tried to set it on fire, I dont think they'll come back for it? If SAPOL where notified, they may tow it back to their compound and try to get prints/evidence, thats what they did when they found mine.
  10. Whats wrong with yours? Can it be repainted, or you have physical damage to it?
  11. How big-a-box? Whats rough RRP too, under $700?
  12. What mid-high range 10" subwoofer is best suited to a small enclosure? By small, i am thinking approx 1 cubic foot or so.
  13. I am getting the impression there is NIL difference between the Nismo and the Tomei, except for the name!
  14. Where did you get your Tomei for $340 inc delivery? Nengun is $370 at the moment. From all the threads ive read, Nismo and Tomei are on par with each other. Can anyone name a reason why one is more preferable than the other?
  15. Well i've got 2, could go double-or-nothing on the next bet to win it back
  16. 2 signs of a stuffed battery. Even if it was something like a seized motor, if you had a good battery your windows would be working?! Did you disconnect the battery when installing the turbo? didnt do something stupid and hook it up backwards by mistake?
  17. Can you post/PM the address where it was found? I want to organise a visit, to see if they were responsible for mine too.
  18. Good idea to deter them from sitting in your car ripping ur audio gear out! My last alarm installer suggested an extra internal screemer for my calais. Just make sure you tuck it away somewhere!
  19. I think fitting a non-airbag wheel to an air-bag car will be defectable.
  20. Relays are internal to the alarm. Why stuff around with a coloured-wire alarm, trying to bring it up to standard - just buy a decent well built secure alarm to start with, with a brand name you can trust. If i was to go for a paging alarm, id definatly go GSM (sms), the RF signal ones like this viper have a range which isnt much better than line of sight.
  21. You sure? Mine feel pretty fricken heavy for Ally, id bet my left nut that they are mild steel.
  22. Both sprayed black looks pretty slick!
  23. Interesting, what suburb? Keep us posted how you go.
  24. Guy's, dont waste your money on this viper alarm, it is not an alarm but more of a gimmik/toy. Search the Car Alarm & Audio thread for more information. One reason: Most alarms have NO (normally open) relays, and the when the immobilier is disarmed, it charges the relay to allow the car to start. The 791 has NC (normally closed) relays. So cut the one single power wire to the alarm module, and the 3 point immobiliser would be more useful as a paperweight.
