  1. If you dont want your brake fluid to absorb mositure, wouldnt DOT5 be good, if you're saying it doesnt absorb water at all?
  2. There are 12V LED's available, wouldnt these be more suitable then cheap 1.5V ones with resistors? Also, Jaycar sell these two products, which are 12V. Do you think they'd be suitable? 12VDC SMD LED Light Strips - Blue http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...=&SUBCATID= 12VDC Flexible Strip with 3 SM LEDs- Blue http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?I...=&SUBCATID=
  3. The druggies thought you were COPS and bashed you and chased you with a Shotgun?! WTF! Who would do that to someone they thought was a cop?!!!! Musta been on those homemade drugs themselves! Sorry to hijack thread, this is the first pillarless R31 i've seen. Is that a mod you've done yourself, or was there a model released with that? Looks good!
  4. Seems like a skyline is stolen every couple of weeks, and dumped a couple days later. Wonder if its the same f**kers after a quick ride cause they cant afford their own. When my car was recovered, clothes and maccas wrappers were in there, couple of tools, and a phone voucher purchased from Oaklands park while my car was missing. Dont know if the cops ever followed it up to get video footage of the person who bought it, or find out what mobile number it recharged. You must be relieved to get it back, i've seen so many stolen cars dumped in the Adelaide hills + torched.
  5. Can you post a pic of your 33? Interested to see it...
  6. When i was getting quotes to have my VN Calais resprayed, the panel beater said if i sanded and prep'd it, he wouldnt paint it - he does his own prep to guarantee his work. I dont think this was so he could get extra money, cause his prices were awesome anyway.
  7. I used to have a blue covered globe, very dull. Got LED from Dan, really white, worth the money.Keep the coloured leds for your parkers or dash!
  8. Is there a need to go back to bare metal? I thought if original paintwork was solid, its easier and just as good to sand and paint on top?
  9. I've got 4 of the little UH036sx-2 listed on that page, and use them for cruises. They work fairly well, normally we are still in line of sight, if you start getting km's away i dont think they will be too good though. Dont use cheap batteries in them, they last 5 minutes. Good batteries last for weeks.
  10. It cant be too popular, if google doesnt bring up any results - unless its because all the results are in japanese....
  11. If it was me, i'd take this opportunity to get the clutch you want for your long-term solution - dont waste money on something you are likely to upgrade in 12 months time.
  12. Looks sweet, great colour for a show car. Make sure you get an alarm ASAP - don't put it off, so much scum in this world!
  13. I wouldnt trust what JustCars or Shannons VERBALLY tell you. I've called them before, asking about what alarm is legal - and they just read a little tiny generic statement along the lines of "it must be an Australian Approved immobiliser". I asked them how many points of immobilisation it must have, and they couldnt tell me. I sent them an email, and they referred me to go talk to CarSafe to find out the Australian Standards. Write them a letter, tell them you are installing a remote start alarm which is illegal and makes your car defectable in Australia, and ask them to confirm that they will provide insurance.... I'd like to see their WRITTEN response!
  14. I remember reading this happened to someone else... Here is one instance which may help you: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...et+cable+broken
  15. Looks awesome, i like seeing skylines with custom colours, makes it much more individual. How much the paint job set you back?
  16. Not when i was looking, it wasnt! Interesting that NateTune has an ebay store, but they sell the Nismo indicators for $79 buy it now. Too much! This thread has been hyjacked anyway - has anyone painted their surrounds before, to colour code to their car?!!!
  17. You should be able to get your local autobarn to order it in for you. What are you using the multicolour Mirage for? Its expensive stuff!!
  18. I shopped around, and nengun was the cheapest i could find. whats Nate tune - never heard of them...
  19. They are designed not to be tampered with. When they are tampered with, you can sometimes tell, because the numbers dont all line up anymore. And ive heard stories of people winding back an ODO (not in a skyline), and then it breaks down a few thou kms after that. When buying a second hand cluster, you could get lucky and get one with less kms, or unlucky and get one with more kms. As long as you have a log book since you owned the car, showing your services, etc - you shouldnt be too worried about the extra kms.
  20. I did my callipers, came out AWESOME. Metalcast base coat, which was a silver colour Metalcast Blue Anodised paint. The number of coats makes a big difference. I did two coats on my first calliper. On my next i think i did 4 or 5, and it came out a lot smoother, thicker, and shiney. The thinner 2-coat job looked more metallic and sparkley.
  21. Does 2pak need a wet sand when its finished? I know when i did acrylic, i did a 1200 sand then a cut. Someone told me a wet sand on 2pak will get rid of any orange peel.
  22. I got my clear nismo blinkers from nengun today, has anyone painted the black surround before? I have a white car, and think a white surround might look better. Heres what the black surround looks like on a hot hot hot 33!
  23. Nice work, what sort of LCD are you running? I admire people who spend the time making their carputer look custom. I personally wouldnt do it, because i like being able to easily remove and upgrade/change things if they break.
  24. And make sure you have a bloody good mask. 2pak is much worse for ya then acrylic, its highly carcinogenic.
  25. Tried ebay? I did a quick search, but didnt find anything. I believe i was going to buy some from http://www.gimmecarparts.com.au but ended up finding some at Autobarn.
