Leatherette Seat Covers From Group Buy - New
Trav33 replied to Trav33's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
These are still available for any 33's who are looking for that "leather" look interior. -
I know it'll be out-dated in 6 months, and really out-dated in 2 years, but i'm good at making use of what i've got, and i'll prob keep struggling with it in 3-4 years time. i did think about having a second drive, configured by hardware Raid. But then i still want a form of off-site backup. i'd be happy to risk losing a weeks worth of data and leave out the second hdd, and put those $$$s into an external HDD.

Wow, lots to read over a bit more thorougly tonight. Can you mention your source for those prices? I think i'd rather spend $500 more now to boost the specs a bit (processor and more RAM), and not have to worry about upgrading in 18 months. Any reason for the 2x HDDs, instead of a 1TB?

That 4870 seems to be a bit more pricey than the nVidia 9800GT. Looks like an awesome card, but i might not put it to it's full use with what i do. From the price list i'm looking at, you could almost compare these two cards pricewise, MSI is slightly more expensive: MSI R4870-T2D512-OC PCIe ATi, 512MB DDR5, PCIe 2.0, HDTV Gigabyte nVidia 9800GTX+ PCIe, 1GB, DDR3, HDTV, HDCP, ATX

Main uses: - Usual Internet browsing, and documents - Video Editing (only home vid's no ultra HD stuff initially) - Gaming - don't have a lot of time, but would like to have ability to play some 3D games Budget... Whenever i've bought a car, i've started with a budget but always spent a bit more to get the right car. I'm not sure what a new system will be worth - getting parts wholesale through our suppliers at work will save a few dollars. I need all new peripherals too (24" widescreen LCD, wireless k/b and mouse, decent speakers). If i spent $1500-$2000 i'd be happy, but its not hard to spend a couple hundred more here and there to improve the setup. I plan to save a bit of money by choosing a budget case, only a DVD burner (not BluRay) initially, on-board sound, non-Kingston RAM.

I see a financial advisor who my gf put my onto. He's not a morgage broker as such - generally morgage brokers get paid on commission, so they'd rather you borrow $300k then $200k. This guy looks at your overall situation, prepares you for interest rate rises, and puts plans in place for the ability to redraw for a new car, etc etc. The only thing i've heard about devine, is to be careful of their small print and their interest rates after the honeymoon period. Their tv adverts sound fantastic, but sometimes things are too good to be true.

Hey All, my current PC (AMD Athlon XP2000) has done well for 5 years, but its time to upgrade! It's been a while since i built a computer, and i havent stayed up to date, so need some advice on... 1. Should I aim for an entry level Intel i7 processor(eg i7 920 - 2.66GHZ /8MB), or spend the same money on a Intel Core2 Quad which should have come down in price with the launch if the i7. (eg Q9550 2.83GHz/12MB/1333FSB) 2. I want something to last me a few years, so looking at 8GB of RAM (4x 2GB sticks). Would DDR2 say 1066MHz suffice? Not sure if its worth the extra $$$'s to go for DDR3 1333MHz. I'm on a bit of a budget. 3. Looking at a Gigabyte video card, 9800GT 1Gig DDR3 with nVidia Chipset. Any comments? 4. Haven't started looking at motherboards yet, too many to sift through. want to sort out the above and then find a mb to match. Thanks for any advice.

Do you need a special processor to run a 64-bit OS? I'm looking for a new PC at the moment, and might investigate Vista 64 if its suitable for video editing, gaming, etc.

If you're after a local paint supplier, try posting in the WA forums - might get some local advice.

Did you get this sorted? Not sure how much current the solenoid draws, and how much the alarm can sink, but it might be as simple as: +12V fused --------> Solenoid + side, and then Solenoid - side ------> Alarm negative trigger.

if you do a search for viper in this car audio thread only, you'll find many many topics of ppl asking this exact same Q...

Oi! Whats the price for this unit?!

My thoughts on the report, is that it was simplified too much. They didnt have a scoring system for each parameter - such as power, cost, economy, etc, and a weighting system to get an overall score. They made some comments, and then came up with an order. I feel like i wasted my time watching the article.

It sucks that pillar gauges are defectable, even though taxi's have a massive electronic unit on top of their dash, and most have a Sat-Nav stuck to the windscreen too.

Chris flys to Adelaide to do installs...

I'd recommend buying a 7" and dismantling it. I think this would be more reliable than an overlay.

Dohmar, The guys i'm talking about are: Prestige Detailers Unit 1/ 6 Armiger Crt Holden Hill SA 5088 - map In Yellow pages, is a second detailer, maybe you used this one: Prestige Car Care Greenacres SA 5086

Good luck with these guys at Holden Hill, i wouldnt trust them with my car. My dad was getting his new Ford Focus detailed, i picked him up and dropped him off that day. When we picked up the car, they hadnt finished it, and the bits they had done were piss poor. They had the car mats on top of the bin, had been raining and they were soaked. They put them in the car, and they tried to say they were wet because of the steam cleaning, and it was normal. I was wringing the water out of them, but they still wouldnt admit it, and continued to lie. The manager kept blaming the poor job on his new employees who didnt know what they were doing yet, more pathetic excuses. I know its not good to judge people by appearances, but by the looks of the guys working there, i'd be using the powerfc controller to limit the revs to 3k and then remove hand controller, and write down the odometer in front of them, so they dont joyride your car.

I've got them on my 33, got offered cash for them but said no thanks. I think they blend in well, and are handy for leaving your window down 1cm on warm days when there is a chance it might rain.

I Want To Install A Camera In The Front Bumper
Trav33 replied to naomy's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
That first video link is shot using a MiniDV video camera, so it will be good quality. I didnt think the ebay camera was too bad - you wont have the resolution to zoom in on a number plate, but considering that you've probably got a 7" screen and only hooking up a camera to view not record, i'd go with an ebay bullet cam. -
Wow, good story. You should have had it wired into your alarm (if you had one?) so you would have known as soon as your window was smashed. Just a Q,... when you got the sms with the coordinates, how did you then locate your car? Did you duck back to work and use googlemaps, or grabbed a street directory from someone? Or were the cops able to use the coordinate themselves?

Is that a Car Audio, or a Security related question?!

Speedometer Calibration
Trav33 replied to SHANE666's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Rim size has nothing to do with it. It the overall wheel diameter (rolling diameter). You'll notice that 18" wheels have a lower-profile tire, compared with 17/16/15" rims? Any half decent tyre+wheel stockist will look at your tyre plakard to work out the stock rolling diameter, and then find a suitable tyre profile to maintain the diameter as close-as-possible. You wont need to touch your speedo. -
Watching thread, waiting for GB #39!....
