  1. Just had news from Sapol, my car was recovered from prospect - they took it to Holden Hill station for finger printing... im off now to reunite and inspect the damage
  2. Thanks for the positive thought! The red stolen skyline - do you know how it was stolen? ie, broken window, knocked out lock, etc?
  3. No stereo - just a double-din hole, no amp, no subs, no speakers - the car was still a work in progress... The waiting game is painful, not knowing where it is, and if i'll get it back...
  4. What do you call fast booting? Restore from hibernation is quick enough for my carputer.
  5. Yeah i learnt the hard way guys, no need to say any more about the alarm thing to me - maybe just to warn others who dont have an alarm, its not too late for them to get one. I was aware that my car could be targetted, i never took it to elizabeth shops, or ttp, always took my girlfriends car.And thought it was ok in my driveway half a metre from the house, in burton - a new estate. No probs whoring the thread, the SAU friendly chit chat is cool. Why are skylines stolen generally - is it joy riders? or do they get stolen + rebirthed and sold?
  6. I went to see Salisbury police face-to-face, they told me there was a breakin in Paralowie about 1.5 hrs earlier. So chances are the prick's done a few breakins before coming to my car, and driving it home (probably via cash converters), hopefully it shows up being dumped in a street somewhere. I dont know if its just me, but Skylines seem to attract the wankers. I never feel safe leaving it anywhere, always having my valve caps stolen. If i dont get this one back, i dont think ill buy another skyline, attract too much bad attention! The irony is that i was made to take a week of holidays this week, i didnt want to, but thought i could spend the time working on my car and getting a few things finished off. If i had of gone to work, i would have left about 15minutes before it got stolen. Thanks for keeping ur eyes out guys.
  7. Guys, My baby was taken from me at 7am this morning, from my driveway in Burton, i heard it start and by the time i got to it, it was gone. They smashed the whole front drivers window, so it'll be missing. Rego xxxxx[edit]. Please keep a look out, and phone police 131444 or 000 if you see it. I'd pay a big reward if someone caught the guy, and let me get to him before the cops.
  8. Sorry to steal the thread, But is there any special sensor (inertia?) inside the hicas box under the parcel shelf, which means you cant relocate the control box? I want to move mine so its not in the way of my audio gear - but someone said there might be a sensor inside which needs to be level, in the center of the car.
  9. Walbro=heard too many negative comments, including the need to direct wire them. Bosch=bit more stuffing around to install Nismo/Tomei=direct bolt in, and meant to be a bit quieter from what ive heard
  10. Cubes, you can buy me a Tomei fuel pump... Greenline quoted me 39233 yen, including freight, so thats almost $400 AUD.
  11. I thought this would be legal too... lots of cars have clear indicator lenses
  12. Can't you just unbolt it, and move it if its in the way?
  13. So 8 puk is a good daily driver, 3 puk would grip more, maybe a bit more shudder on take-off? 5 puk being somewhere in the middle?
  14. Xe.com has the currency exchange of : 1.00 JPY = 0.0100254 AUD at the moment.
  15. I'm looking at Exedy button clutches, and i've read mentions of 3, 5 or 8 puks. What is a puk? And how does the number of them, affect the feel of the clutch?
  16. I'm starting to look at subs for my work-in-progress project, and wondering how well 10" subs work? I've currently got a 12" in my other car, and worried a 10" might be significantly quieter? What is better for sound quality, 10" because it can respond quicker? The driver will probably be two channels bridged, from a tru technology 4ch amp. I want to keep as much of my boot as possible, so if a 10" can give me loud enough bass, i'd like to look for one which needs a small enclosure, and build this in under the parcel shelf. Is this the Hicas unit, which i believe is ok to relocate? :
  17. meguiars plastic-x +1 ! The stuff is awesome, cleaning the inside is a bitch though, have to warm the light in the oven and i'm not game to try it.
  18. Is the bilstein setup that SydneyKid sells good/stiff enough to prevent this? Do good grippy tires help prevent it too?
  19. Sent an email to them, will see what they say. There website shows 27k yen, which works out to be about $270 + freight on top i guess... seems too cheap.
  20. I thought nengun were meant to be efficient with their orders? I've just ordered some small bits and pieces from them...
  21. At least your honest about ya need for bling!
  22. Hey Guys, I think i've decided to upgrade to a Tomei fuel pump, because its a 30 minute bolt in job, and because its meant to be one of the quieter pumps. Nengun have the, for approx $360, but i cant find anyone else who sells them. None for sale on ebay either! Any suggestions on what other suppliers sell them? Anyone got comments on the Tomei fuel pump?
  23. For those of us still learning... whats axle tramp?!
  24. Can i ask a newbie Q.... how does anti-lag work? is it changing timing, or stopping spark, or what?!!!
  25. What sort of systems are good enough to win Amateur Street Class? eg, what systems have won in the past. I'm new to the world of SQ.
