What about from a plastics supplier? They do cash sales to the public normally. Do you cut it with a jigsaw and clean up the edges with a bit of filing?

What material do you use? Some form of plastic? What thickness...?

Well i've found one fundamental design flaw which means i WONT be buying the Viper 791... Something Chris and other may have touched on, but not clearly explained. If i was to buy the viper, i would be buying it as a remote start and turbo timer TOY, not an alarm or immobiliser, not for security. Immobilisers normally have circuits which are Normally Open (NO). This means the immobilisation circuit is open, and car will not start, until the alarm module disarms, and applies power to the circuit. Cut power to the alarm, and the car will not start, because the immobilier needs to power up the relay to close the immobilised circuit. The viper is a Normally Closed (NC) system, the circuit is normally closed, and the alarm must apply power to break the circuit. ie, cut the one power wire to the alarm, and the immobiliser will not keep the circuit open, meaning the circuit is not immobilised and the car can be started. Not a good immobiliser!

What if the call went out for payment by the due date or your out. Then see how many people there are, you should be able to negotiate with the supplier to see if they will honour the offer with slightly less orders. The alternative is that we sit here doing nothing for another month, and then even after the order is put through I believe it is not a short process to have the covers made.

Might be better to pick your splits first - there are so many different sounding ones you can get, warm sounding ones (for vocals), harser sounding ones which might be better for loud dance, etc etc etc. Go and listen to some, find a pair that suits the music you normally listen to, then get the right amp to drive them.

The group-buy administrator should set a firm deadline for payment, and a closing date for this group buy, and that way all 20 people will know when payment MUST be transferred, or they miss out. This will get things moving fast...

Sounds like you need to keep pulling fuses until you work out exactly where the current 'leak' is, and then work out exactly what components take power from it. Is the main fuse under the bonnet? Have you tried pulling every fuse under the dash to see if it is a smaller one down the line which is causing the fault?

You could run a carputer to take the signals from your ECU and output them via RCA/Video cables into the head unit, not sure what the screen quality would be like though. Computer screens have much better resolution and use VGA cables, as opposed to tv displays which dont have the same resolution and use RCA/SVideo standards...

Still going cause im indecisive, and can't make my mind up between security (autowatch/mongoose) and viper (fancy features).

I had problems with my car stalling in heat, and idle hunting after it warmed up. It was fine when it was cold. I increased the idle speed a smidgen and it fixed it.

I've been told it will make a MASSIVE difference, and am about to sound-deaden my doors and install new splits. Have also seen some sort of sound-deadening sheeting, looks like a foam, which i think is meant to go behind the speaker.

I found a thead here where someone had scanned in half their manual and converted it, and you asked for a copy, did you ever get this?
