  1. Is there anything illegal or defectable about these? Price is good! There is a lot of weight in the doors, not sure if its a mod i'd do myself.
  2. Does anyone know of a link for installation instructions? How easy is it to replace the cam gears? r33kid - pls add me to your list, #29 - payment sent today! Edit : Found this awesome thread which explains what is involved in installation : http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=25899
  3. So you going to buy a solenoid?!!! Not too sure how they work, but when i was getting my dyno done, the guy was telling me thats what they normally use instead of a bleeder value - some sort of electro-mechanical component which allows low or high boost setting at the flick of a switch.

  5. I notice you used 6mm MDF, r32woohoo used 9mm. Now that you have almost finished, do you think its better to use 6mm - would 9mm be harder to fit? I'm about to do my parcel shelf on the 33, and would prefer to use thicker MDF to seal the boot off and keep noise out. Not sure if 9mm is getting too thick, compared with the stock cardboard shelf!
  6. A bit more information... Don't need CAMS license for this day, not sure why, maybe because its not a "racing" event? "We have done a day for the WRX Club and I would think that program would be ideal for you, it had fast laps, lecture, racing lines, motokhana etc." "We do have a very experienced drifter on our team but as you stated that’s a different day all together" Any more thoughts / feedback guys?....
  7. By 'idle', do you mean with the keys removed from ignition, head unit in 'standby' mode? 0.005A = 5mA (not 50mA), heaps less than 100mA. Is it possible the installer wired the accessories + battery wires around the other way? Would that cause excessive standby current draw?
  8. Sounds like he's removed the parcel shelf guys!
  9. To answer your Q... I had an ultrasonic sensor in my VN Calais, and it was hidden under the plastic near the gear shifter. From my experience, they will work through plastic and can be hidden, but will not work through metal.
  10. Are they made by Ultimate Auto Trim in Dandenong, Vic? The reason i ask, is if they are made overseas i am reluctant to buy them in case something goes wrong - but if they are Aust made, i will get a set.
  11. Pls add to the list... 1 pair blue for RB25. I've sent an email to your address, Please PM/email me bank details, and i will transfer $140+$10 tonight.
  12. Having problems with a JVC head unit, keeps causing the battery to go flat. I've worked out the head unit draws 100mA in standby mode - is this excessive?
  13. I'd like to see any info re performance gains pls????
  14. I've come across this website : trackskill.com.au, because i want my dad to do a V8 drive (hes not into turbos!) They do Club Drive Days at Mallala... "Typically we include a short lecture on vehicle dynamics and racing techniques, including: cornering, braking, steering, oversteer, understeer and much more." "Our range of programs caters for all groups, from the more conservative through to those looking for high speed performance training." "Current competitive race drivers are available to provide race-tested advice on car set-up." Cost looks like about $150 per car - which i presume would be a day of driving your skyline at racing speeds, and professional coaching and advice. Is there anyone that would be interested in this, before i make more enquiries?
  15. It could make sense... +12V from wires at head unit -> switch otherside of switch -> engine bay solenoid other side of solenoid -> earthing on chassis.
  16. From the sound of things,... u originally had the speakers wired to the head unit - then disconnected them, and hooked them up to an amp. So if you hook them back up to the head unit, nothing has changed, no reason why it shouldnt work again! Wouldnt it be better to try and get your speakers + sub running from the amp, like you had originally planned? A couple things to check... -do you have two sets of RCA leads (2 black + 2 red) going into your amp. -if you have a 4ch amp, and are running a sub on 2ch, and speakers on the other 2, the only channel to be bridged should be the sub channels. were you bridging the speakers across 2 channels each before???
  17. I've always had 6 cyl cars, with 15 or 16" wheels, and was told stock pressure is 32psi, but a couple more psi (34) helps with fuel economy and tire wear.
  18. My 33 doesnt have rear speakers, only holes where they once were! Are you trying to remove just the speakers, or the whole parcel shelf? Can't the window tinting guys work around the rear speakers anyway???
  19. If you get a AA 1.5v battery, and put a bit of speaker wire from the battery to the rear speaker (doesnt matter which is positive or negative), and tap the wire on the battery a few times, it should make a bit of noise, and you'll see the speaker cone move. If it does this, your speakers are fine. Try this, and it will isolate if the problem is the speakers, or the signal source.
  20. I buy a 5L Shell container, and have approx half a litre left over...
  21. I'm about to place my order, but would like to know: (1) Where are the seat covers made? (2) How long should I realistically allow before I receive the order? 4 weeks? 6 weeks? Ta
  22. I had my car on the dyno the other day, and knew previously it had run 185kw. The dyno showed 140kw, and the dyno operator was saying 'wow, thats a good result'. He was clueless and thought it was an RB20, not RB25. Anyway, my timing ended up being WAY out, and that was causing power problems. was -4 deg (retarded), and we moved this to -12 deg to run 195kw. I wonder if timing could be your problem?
  23. Sounds like you have a 4channel amp, which normally has 2 fuses. I'm guessing one of these has blown... have a look for them on your amp.
  24. Why would you want to do that? Seems stupid to me... One of the important things about journal-bearing turbos is that oil flow must be maintained. Why would you want to risk farking the turbo by shutting the engine off when the turbo is red hot, just to see if it fails or not? Maybe it won't fail, but you may have caused minor damage which later compounds and causes a bearing to let go???
  25. I get a fair bit of flutter, under boost, its like 5 or 6 flutters - hard to count! i'll try and record the sound next drive. When i replaced the turbo, i didnt notice any blockage in the recirc pipe from the bov to the turbo inlet.
