Thanks Howie, I've been dealing with Tonkins Salisbury, the guy hasn't been heaps helpful. He said he's tried to get Reps to order parts, but only some are available,... etc etc... getting the run around. I'll try the adelaide office later today.... maybe they are on the ball. cheers mate

My 6000 looks like this... i'm not even 100% sure what plug is the 4ch RCA output!

Thats my last option... but would much rather have RCA leads going directly into the amp... thanks for your time searching anyway

I've brought an Eclipse AVN6000 from a Toyota Dealer, and have just learnt why it was cheaper than through an Eclipse dealer. It comes prepared for a factory installation into a Toyota, and does not include the cable in the box to enable RCA output. The cable has a square plug at one end, and two or three sets of RCA leads at the other end. I haven't been able to source this cable from Toyota, Tonkins, Eclipse/Fujitsu Australia, no-one wants to help. I'm told there are no spare parts in Australia, and i'd need to buy one from someone who is not using theirs... Can any one help? Willing to pay good cash for one, as its driving me crazy!

It'd still be cool and convenient to have that "Red Button", to change boost profiles from low (city driving) to high (say goodbye to that V8) in half a second.

Thanks Paul, I had read your tutorial a couple weeks ago, but re-read the points you just noted. From the sounds of it, the PowerFC with Boost Controller allows you to: -setup 4 profiles to "quickly" select from (how quick? how many menu options do you have to go thru to change profiles, not as quick as a dedicated boost controller which is easier to navigate?) -set maximum boost -set duty cycle I've heard of boost controllers being more powerful than this, and being able to adjust your max boost and duty cycle for different rev's, etc. I'm new to the world of turbo's, but surely a boost controller with more 'tuneability' would give better results?

I'm about to buy a Power FC engine management for my 33, and I also need a boost controller. My two options : (1) Buy the Apexi Boost Control Kit for Power FC (2) Buy a stand alone Boost Controller Wondering what is the best way to go... -Apexi Boost Control Kit = integrated system, only one controller -Other Boost Controllers may have more features and easier to change boost profiles? -Does having the boost control built into the ecu allow for better tuning? Your opinions?.....

How can you check the pre-load on the wastegate? It's a Sliding Performance hi-flow, journal bearing, but not that $890 special, its something Aaron has put together with much bigger compressor and exhaust wheels. I think i should install an ECU, say the PowerFC, and install a boost controller, than take it for a tune! That should solve all my problems!

Haven't driven it much, but it feels like it doesnt reach max boost til about 5k rpm. Once the turbo kicks in, its insane, full power to redline.

I've just put a hi-flow turbo on my 33, and am experiencing a lot of lag. I haven't had time to get a dyno-tune yet, not sure if this will reduce the lag at all? I'm looking to install a Power FC with the Boost Controller built in, will this upgrade help to reduce turbo lag? Thanks for any advice...

Hi, I've brought an Eclipse AVN6000 from a mate who works at a Toyota dealer, except because it is the Toyota factory unit, it does not have the RCA breakout leads. Can anyone sell me these leads? I need to get the RCA signals out from the Eclipse deck to my amps. Appreciate any help! Apparently you're meant to get a spare cable when buying the full unit, maybe someone wants to sell me their spare?

Is there an eclipse expert here?.... Is there a difference between an AVN6000, and a "Toyota AVN6000" ? I'm wondering if i've been sold a Toyota unit, because the harness came with plugs at both ends, and the unit does not appear to have RCA outputs.

My next dilemma... does anyone know how much the "converter cables" costs for the AVN6000 to allow you to get RCA output?

Looking at the way the unit is mounted in a Skyline, i guess this plastic surround would pretty much hold itself in place, maybe just a few dabs of silicon behind the surround to hold it there? Then the dash will push down on top and keep it there?

I've just brought an Eclipse AVN6000 for my R33, looks like it'll be a nice unit, but a little tricky to install. The brackets from the stock double din tape/cd/radio look like they will screw into the side of the Eclipse unit. However the Eclipse looks like its slightly smaller in height. I believe if i put the dash on, there will be a 4mm gap above, and 7mm gap below. Any ideas on how to make a cover to hide this gap? Has anyone had similar experiences when installing a double-din unit into an R33?
