  1. I found someone else who had problems with TS2000's squeeling. They took them back to Repco, got them swapped for another set and still had the problem. I thought because of all the effort i'd gone to stop the squeeling with no success + because my last pads didnt squeel + because TS2000's arnt popular and i couldnt find many threads on here about them, they were just a noisy pad. Interesting to read you didnt have problems with them. The supplier has recommended i try one more time, to take them out, use a linishing belt to roughen up, etc - I just want to stop stuffing around and have quieten the noise a bit.
  2. So not Mean/Aggressive enough for ya?
  3. Here's my installation, the installer put a black cloth over the panel, so the tweeters are not noticable. Would be interested to hear what Chris' views are...
  4. What in these pics changed your opinion Dezz? I'm still undecided, its the rear look i dont like, looking into the vents, and also concerned re water issues.
  5. My suggestion (which is based on a Professional installation) is dont point the tweeters at your face. I did this in my old VN Calais. My installer pointed them accross the car, he described that this sets up front staging, and it does sound a lot better.
  6. I've got Kumho KU31's very happy with them. Kumho classify them as an Ultra-high performance tyre. They contain Silica (or high dispersable silica to be exact), which most high performance tyres do. You'll find lots of recommendations for them on this forum, i dont know anyone who is unhappy with their performance. I dont expect them to be a long-lasting tyre, there is always a trade-off between performance and economy.
  7. Thanks Duncan, i think it was your thread that i read, about the track day that stuffed your GreenStuff's.
  8. Youl fly down to do installs, dont you Chris? Next time you're down, pop that manual in your suitcase for me so I can give you some $$'s
  9. With the questions your asking, you might be better off buying a 12V LED/Neon kit, which you can wire straight in.
  10. I've read as many threads as I could find in the last hour on pads, and am leaning towards Ferodo DS2500 or EBC Green or Red Stuff. My current pads (Formula TS2000's) are squealers, and i've never been able to silence them. Thats the only reason for the pad change. Want a high performance pad, for street use and a fair bit of hills driving, with the ability to do a track day. DS2500 - Seem to be the most commonly used pad, but quite expensive - When doing a search, didnt find a lot of noise issues with them, seem to be a quiet pad Green Stuff - Seem ok, but not recommended for track use Red Stuff - Worried that these will be noiser than Green Stuff, i dont want another noisy pad. - Most of the Red Stuff threads i found, were relating to noise - Less dust than Green Stuff I'm looking for some feedback on these 3 pads, to help decide which way to go, at the moment they all have Pro's + Con's and i'm undecided. Thanks Guys.
  11. You'll want to use the smallest fuse for the job. Dont use the power cable going to your amp, unless you install a small inline fuse - the fuse at the battery-terminal will be massively overrated and wont offer sufficient protection. I'd use cigarette lighter - its already fused, easily accessible, and will only supply power when you have your keys in the igntion.
  12. Did 9.5" rims fit ok on the front? How much did your tyre+mag package set you back? TRAV33
  13. I hosed down the top of the engine on my Calais once, (because i had a rat which kept dragging dog poo onto the top of my engine, and stashing it there) - and musta got a bit of water on the alternator because it died a few days later. I'd suggest keeping water away from the alternator+pod.
  14. Is it a wired-remote/handcontroller?
  15. Good question, i thought about doing this myself, removing spoiler, getting a rubber grommet and spraying white to plug the hole. If its a temporary fix, you could use some really good quality, sticky cloth tape which would do a good job sealing the hole from the inside. Are you thinking of leaving your car without a spoiler/stealth lip?
  16. There's lots of results in google if you search for 3M Double Sided Tape. Even some ebay results, not sure if this is the stuff: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3M-Double-Sided-Tap...1QQcmdZViewItem (If link doesnt work, try searching for item 230294174763)
  17. What's this remote you're after Brett? I thought all of those screens were run off the epson ej1 system. is that your signature, or do you type that at the end of every post?!
  18. I find techwax doesnt last that long either, i'm about to try a tough-seal product which i've heard some very good things about.
  19. What's your association with Meguiar's? Judging by your signature, you have something to do with the company, or just a devoted fan? By the way... it's Meguiar's not Meguair's! (i before a)
  20. You get what you pay for... I imagine if there are more cars and less track time, it becomes cheaper. And the better instructors will be able to demand a slightly higher price too. I'm happy paying with $400, it'll be a Christmas pressie for myself!
  21. Helso, You still planning to organise this day?
  22. Did they verbally say that, or put it in writing? Verbal dont mean jack, even if you were to write it down, date+time stamp it, and have a witness with you. Any easy way to get something in writing, is to email it to them. Make sure their email has their full name+position on it too.
  23. Bump! Surely someone must have bought this bonnet...!
  24. How much did you pay for them?
  25. You can still get automotive paint in acrylic, which is safer to use than 2-pak.
