  1. Sounds like you know a fair bit about carputers, so you've probably already heard of RoadRunner. if not, hit the mp3car forums. Its not a bad front end, it uses WinAmp in the background.
  2. This is the Trust/GTR bar i'm looking at getting from PSI Parts:
  3. I havent done mine yet, but i did my brake calipers with masking tape and a sharp knife. The garnish should be the same, because the letters are raised. mask the letters, and use a sharp stanley/surgical knife to trim masking tape.
  4. At the moment i'm only using it as a "media centre" to listen to music, not playing dvds, using GPS occasionally. so 512MB will be enough for me, and is fairly quick to resume from hibernation. 1 gig seems to take forever. if you've got 4 speakers + a sub, you might be able to use a 4CH sound card, and piggy-back your sub off your rear speakers. use some Y-Cable splitters to send the same signal from your sound card to the rear+sub channels. That way you've still got front-rear balance, and can fine tune your sub amplification on the amp itself. Most sound cards these days seem to be a minimum of 5.1 tho.
  5. I'm using the SoundBlaster Audigy NX2, which is an external USB one. I think its 7.1 channels. I'm using 4 channels, two for front splits, two are for the sub. There is a bit of control with the SoundBlaster drivers, for equiliser, front/rear split, sub boost, etc.
  6. I bought a Xenarc for my carputer setup, i didnt want a motorised screen. Its ok, sometimes it does dodgy things and the touch screen wont work, and you need to reboot it. not sure if this is because im running it through a USB hub which might have a fit every now and again. Keep in mind the more RAM you have, the longer it takes to resume from hibernation. I noticed going from 512 to 1gig a lot longer start-up time, and considered going back to 512mb - just havent got around to pulling my setup apart to swap it out
  7. Madaz, Can you confirm you've received my $66? Your first post says payment pending, and the posts above dont include my name on the paid list?!
  8. I'd stick with Meguiars stuff, and if you go to your local autoparts shop, you'll notice they have about half a dozen different polishes. From memory, there is a diamond cut, medium cut, light cut and swirl remover. I'd try the swirl remover by hand, if that works maybe go over it with a polish, and then wax it afterwards. Sometimes when i touch up friends cars where they have key marks under the handle, i use a bit of diamond cut, and it wont be too agressive until you keep rubbing for extended periods.
  9. They are the same size. Personally i like the colour-coded Series 2 garnishes. I want my SKYLINE letters to glow, so i've bought a S1 one, and going to mask letters, etc and paint it white.
  10. Out of interest, where did you buy it and how many $$$'s? I'm lookin to get a CF bonnet for my white 33 too.
  11. Just EFT'd $66 to you. Thanks Steve.
  12. I'd like: 1 x R33 RB25det O2 Sensor $66inc. Do you want cash EFT'd, or cash-on-pickup (I'm in Ad).
  13. I had an Eclipse AVN6000 for a while, awesome unit but the price is probably up there with the Pioneer you got quoted.
  14. Guys it can be fixed - if ya read my post not difficult at all!
  15. This guy posted in the SA forum too. If only he searched before he posted, could have answered half his Q's himself.
  16. Yeah my boot sat down too low. What i did to fix it, was to remove the boot and you'll notice the gear stick shaft is tapered (starts off thin and gets thicker). I made some of the thin bit thicker using electrical tape. That way the rubber grommet in the boot wont go down as far, and no more gap. Easy 60second fix!
  17. This is happening in my friends 32, might be a common problem now that they are getting on in age...
  18. PSI Guys - u got pics of that bonnet on a 33 yet??!!!!
  19. Off topic, but if your glass gets scratched, is there a way it can be wet-polished? I reckon a glass maker could "polish" scratches out, given enough time with the right tools. Still need to replace the felt pads to prevent more scratches of course.
  20. If its diag, what is plugged into it on jonzie26's pic?
  21. I've got Kumho KU31's, not sure what the SPT means? I'm happy with my rubbers, grip well.
  22. PSI Boys : Picture would be great for me as well!
  23. I understood that the sticker was put on at the time-of-manufacture, and was a reminder that the belt needs to be changed at 100k.
  24. Ah so it is! There are some Series 2 bonnets on that site.
  25. I dont know what Brembo calipers look like, but when i painted my nissan ones, i put masking tape over the letters and cut around them with a sharp stanley knife. Are the Brembo letters raised, or just painted on? Easier if they are raised. Alternatively, any sign writer can computer cut white vinyl - do your design in photoshop and take it into them on a USB thumb drive.
