The guys are right, a tunner who does power FC's and relys on the knock sensors should not be tunning an engine full stop. Give them a real ecu like a haltech, autronic motec etc and see em freak trying to figure out what real detonation is. On aside not the cross sectional area of an ACL ring (actualy made by mahle) is that exact shape from new. If the rings are cleanly broken its more than possible they have been like this since installation and its the builder fault not the tunner. "most" engine issues wont smash rings before they do damage to the lands. You issue sounds very much like an assemble problem.

or fill it with 98 and get a few hot power runs before making the trip down there. I think you will find if its tunned smart then you wont have any problems with 98 in the tank.

Typically I have seen them start to float at around 8200Rpm with 1.5 bar. Which isn't bad for OEM springs.

ever seen actual test results to back that up??? Agreed some of them are crap but there actually some VERY good products available and alot of them come from servos too. Nulon is a proven performer. I actually have a few test results somewhere that bobby did not long ago when choosing a fuel for his GTR. Those adatives are also a very good idea when filling the tank somewhere that gets well below 0 degrees. the wax content in their fuel is very high which is not exactly good for injectors.

Proengines is correct, check the endfloat on the crank properly with a dial indicator and that will more than likely be your issue. DONT assemble it as, because there is a clearance issue there.

agreed but when building one I still like to cover ALL bases and fit a baffle kit. I ran my old RB26 for 2 years with no baffle and it never suffered oil issues (besides the leaks) it seem more circuit time than most as well.
