  1. I just get in my GTR and drive the arse off it. Brakes can go spongy, tires get way to hot but meh. I dont even remember checking tire pressures at the track day. But yeah 12 months max for decent fluid
  2. There is a reserve list!
  3. I got a passenger now! Or =( im undecided at this stage
  4. hmm yeah okay you can come too. Good entertainment value =)
  5. I have one on perfect condition, rather sell as a pair but make an offer
  6. haha that car park was the shit!!! well it was shit actually. Sweet, me n smokey next weekend its on! Got to make sure Andrew is there to "aquire" a heater but
  7. Goin back for more smoke???
  8. I think me an smokey should be separated at such venues, generally it ends up in stupidity. Hmm next weekend!!!
  9. was a good night thats for sure. Thiunk I drank a little but meh Service at the pub was rather nice though (looks at smokey)
  10. Guys if your really hooked on the circuit then join a club that runs supersprints and get in on it.!! southernsportingcarclub.org and NSCC all compete in monthly events at various circuits and the cost is pretty reasonable. Fair ammount of track time all properly timed and its great fun. Typically the events fill up fast but if you get the entry in early your bound to get spot.
  11. im still planning to go down early, so ill also be in for Winton, basicly to run the new engine in since the car is unregisteered and there is basicly ill get no free track time before august up here. Ill be towing down with the ute if anyone still needs stuff carted.
  12. grey GTR The Grey GTR is actually mine =)
  13. will be there Jess
  14. was a top day guys. weather was nicer on saturday when the bikes were out but never mind. Andrew's S13 certainly was impressive. Would have been good to get the two silvia's and the GTR out there head to head but next time. When Greg and I were going at it the Cornering speed of the GTR was so noticable but come to the straight with the same sort of power the S15/RB26 combination is so much quicker.
  15. Like has been mentioned we're going down way early but im taking the XR6 and trailer, if anyone has spare stuff like wheels etc they want carted down let myself or corinne know and we can organise to take them. Jess I was talking to andrew about tires last week. Im going to be using a new set of R888's at winton and Corinne will also have a new set on too. Brad
  16. Really need room for 2 cars plus a trailer with another car on it.
  17. Typically pink orangy coloured plugs indicate coolant burning.
  18. Okay im looking for somewhere around sydney that can fabricate from a drawing an approved foam filled fuel cell or two. Ill be plating the boot and installing the set-up myself however I need the cell to be foam filled and baffled etc which is easier to outsource than fabricate myself, since the place I usually get to do this sort of work is moving workshop Im in need of somewhere else. Id buy a prefabed cell but I want a few extras built into it. Must be competant with alluminium welding and fabrication and familiar with motorsport fuel systems. Thanks Brad
  19. they are simple to remove but unless you have a press and suitalbe tools dont expect to change the bearings yourself.
  20. oh shit, f**k, wall, BANG! Funny funny his still at work now putting the thing back together ready for wakefield on sunday.
  21. there isn't any timing anyway... and hand timing doesn't count (according to me.. unless i set a pb, then it counts) Im aware of that but when your trying to push a car around there well into the 1:07 bracket slower cars can be pretty dangerous when they dont move off the racing line. My question was more of a general question to see what sort of vehicles and experiance levels we have attending. Im asuming we will be divided into sessions by claimed lap tips and experiance though. If everything still works I should be doing sub 10s. Will be really good to get on a circuit with you Andrew. been a very long time!

same if its dry in planning to take the GTR out tommorow night as well.
  23. Are there many out there attending who can lap it in sub 1:10's??? I had a disapointing last weekend with 1:12's in the wet but the car should be back to its usual self by this day. They are usually pretty leaniant on track noise. We ran with side pipes and no mufflers last weekend without any dramas.
  24. Tunning for midrange and top end etc is all crap!!! If you tunning any aftermarket ECU then there is a completely different section of the map you will be using for top end vrs midrange etc. IF you optimise all the load points and tune the thing properly It will make the same top end peak power and full potential midrange. Tunning with cam gears etc yes there can be a few trade offs. Time spent can also lead to trade offs. If you want a full tune done where its going to make peak grunt and have awesome midrange then your going to pay alot more than if you want the top end sweet and dont worry to much about the rest. A tune is a tune weither it be drift or circuit etc. Yes the tunner may elect to retard the timing sligtly in the top end on a circuit car but thats really not nessisary. If a tunner wants to pull timing back just because your going to the track then his not 100% confident in the tune his done. Im ny oppinion its that simple. Any tune ive done id happily jump in and flog the arse out of around any given circuit. I know its safe and not going to do any damage. Often times people will see knock on the track that doesn't occur on the street. Thats becuse on the track your pushing the ECU into sections of the map that havent been tuned or not tunned properly. Something tunned properly will not be fased by how hard you cane it on the circuit. Various oppinions on knock. I tune my customers cars to around 20 cause anymore they freak out. My own GTR peaks at 50 or so and has done so for the last 18 months. Its happy and makes more power then the average RB26. Tunning any other ECU you have put your faith in the tunner who uses his knowledge to tune the ignition maps. With the power FC the knock function is evil. People rely on it rather than the tunner. Again in my oppinion if you feel the need to monitor knock levels you should be finding another tunner who you fully trust.
  25. 45mins to an hour on the ground by myself. I do GTR boxes in the same time same conditions. Occasionally need help getting the GTR box back in but 8/10 its a solo effort. By the time corinne was driven from her place to mine the job was done. Have a go its not hard to do if you have patience and be sure to line the clutch up properly.
