  1. Good to see it being cleaned up and used. Opposite to what it has been doing for the last couple of years!
  2. 340kw wrecker engine!!!! Solid effort that's for sure.
  3. When we do a sump & catch can for the same vehicle I always suggest a breather hose from a high point of the sump above oil level to the base of the catch can. It just provides a better vent for the crankcase not a drain for the catch can.
  4. Fatz is mobile again. For now....... Sort of........ Photos tomorrow of a lotus exige roll cage and some other things we've been working away on recently.
  5. Good to see the alloy came out well Neat job of the manifolds Would you agree with approximately 25hours start to finish in manifold time? I did a set similar a month ago for an RB26 in a Gemini sports sedan. When you factor in the $550-700 cost price on materials. Plus 20hrs @ say$90/hr minimum You've got a set of $2,500 manifolds without even putting a mark up on the raw materials, charging $$ for any design time, or charging any excessive labour rate. It's easy to see why manifolds can run into the 1000's once you've actually designed and built a good set.
  6. Lambo is back with SCR now. Was in for regular maintance and an oil leak that has been a nightmare to chase down. Was leaking from a locating pin on the dry sump tank and was filling the rear chassis rails. It's doing a lease day at Wakefield park Saturday week, so will be back for a once over before that day. The body is actually all aluminum, it's got some corrosion coming through in a few areas which is apparently common for them.
  7. Send me some more photos around the catch can area. Take a photo and mark it with ms paint where you want the intercooler pipe to go. From that photo I'm pretty sure I can do something with it. Might loose a big of washer bottle volume but nothing that will be too bad [email protected]
  8. Got a lazy 100k laying around to finish building this car....
  9. Rb26 complete bottom end for sale. Engine was running in the car when removed but was smokey so I'm assuming it's broken a ring land. Comes with 05U block from 94 r32 GTR Crank shaft, should be a long nose drive. Oem rods Oem pistons ( one possible broken) Bottom end is still assembled and hasn't been pulled apart. 86mm virgin bore Asking $600.00 Pick up from Sydney. Also have some rebuild parts for it. 2nd hand good condition I beam rods $1000 for the whole lot. 2nd hand good condition CP pistons 87mm no rings
  10. I have several GTR's to make fast...... How's the road trip?
  11. In the next couple of months combined with John Boston and track school we are organizing a track school theory session at the workshop. Will have my currently running VE chassis, ex championship VY chassis and a borrowed COFT chassis. On display for people to see up close what's actually gone into them to build Race cars. Coming along to answer questions as well is a couple of current and ex supercar fabricators / engineers from top teams who I regularly deal with. As well as for the import nuts insights s2000, the kallis EVO and a couple of high end GTR's Keep eyes out in the NSW event section, all the details are going to be posted there soon.
  12. Some people have no idea...... Do any of you guys actually know where these brake shops predominately get their rotor rings from..... China. The billets they use for rotor hats China. Can you bring them down to the workshop early next week? I have a perfectly good use for them and not even going to bother asking if they are Chinese.
  13. We can custom fabricate something to your requirements. Something with a surge tank and pump on one neat polished plate that can be bolted into the boot?
  14. I'm not closing, there is far too much work to close. Just moving stuff around and limiting the usable area for a while. Hence trying to wind down orders so I can focus on the 4 complete car builds while everything happens.
  15. Petes only going to call me about it so I'll just answer. Can do a rwd converted GTR sump with dIff and axle flange plated up for additional $110.00 basically just covers the cost of labour to cut the diff off
  16. Job done then! Your one did hold a touch more due to the old pick up being longer and resued
  17. I was actually looking at a photo of the "big bannana" in coffs harbor just before. The nanna is ever so slightly larger than the Vw kombi, That friggin trailer is way larger than the kombi. there is a new bigger banana, we just need merchandise now!!
  18. Problem they will have with type 6 is unreg vehicles in NSW obtaining logbooks. For cams to add a "time attack" category to there needs to be a time attack association that apply for it to be added. The majority of time attack vehicles are not rego'ed and alot of the aero does not fall into the general requirements in the manual of Motorsport. The manuals general requirements are written with collaborations from cams staff and liability solicitors/insurance carriers. So there is no way that monstrous aero will be "log bookable" just because it's time attack So considerable amounts of cars would need the aero cut down to fall within the general requirements which type 6 would need to adhere too. Then you still need a "time attack" category to log book the cars under so that they can run in NSW. Rego vehicles no problem obviously. I've had a couple of cars knocked back at inspection time due to aero that's outside the sports sedan regulations which is what we've been trying to register the cars as. One GTR this week was rejected due to the rear wing being too high, wide and far back. Front and rear undertrays being too long and spliter too long. It can't run at the NSW states without a log book. It can't be logbooked as anything currently. There can't be a time attack category to log book without a time attack assosiation to apply for a category......... Visious circle
  19. It could be a heated finish if cast alluminium actually went blue and yellow....... It's coated.
  20. What diameter pipe are you needing? I keep a couple of meters of 3 3.5 and 4 inch, or can have sheet rolled to specific diameter and seam it (normally the way ti fab work is done) If you do get stuck I have a purge chamber that fits front pipes etc in to weld ti properly.
  21. Big pete (fatz) is running a group buy on our very well known sump pans. See the group buy section for details and an awesome price
  22. Anodizing works out far more expensive. The anodizied finish will only be as good as the polished surface underneath. To get a pair of covers, valley and timing case for an rb26 polished up perfectly costs a small fortune. I had a customer not long ago get a set done only to have a second set powdercoated for his 2nd car.
  23. Sports car rentals. I have the orange gallardo in my driveway at the moment, and do alot of work for them. They had a near new porka crashed a couple of weeks back in the national park and a brand new Aston in a ditch along old pac months ago, that's why the minis try and keep a tightish reign on the drivers. People don't understand or even consider the cost to repair one if you do happen to damage it.
  24. Forgot to mention to pete. We will also do the slightly larger 9L capacity sump in this group buy as well for the same cost. They do sight 30mm lower than a standard sump and level with the subframe.
  25. The 888 built teckno chassis is already back with 888 for a pair of rear rails and floor pan to rear fire wall section. Shame to see the last of the 888 VE's take such a massive shunt so soon in it's life.
