Just a quick mention for a heap of people who have pm'er and emailed. I'm closing off orders this coming Friday the 16th. Orders placed and paid for before Friday will be completed on time. For a week or two after the 16th I wot be taking orders. We are planning a renovation of the workshop to further increase the fabrication equipment we can fit on the ground level. New mezzanine floor is being put up to store the supercars on which will double floor space for fab work. Expected down time will be 7-10 days but for guys who are needing sumps and other components urgently get in this week.
-
In that order. Sump is $1150.00 They hold 9L They have a swinging gate type baffle and extended pick up if you provide an exchange pick up.
-
Well you on the way to the standard 2 slab engine change then!
-
On average a basic half starts at $660 and can go up to $1300. A full cage starts at $2400 and can go a high as you like. Most full cages people opt for a few extra bars over a basic cage and they end up spending around $3000. The majority of half cages end up around the $990 mark once you add things like harness bar, double diagonals etc.

Is it on and engine in yet.....

So Will Sau Folk Still Refuse To Watch V8 Supercars
Risking replied to Roy's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I never said they won't be at the front. I only said they won't be as dominant. 888 built chassis and components are very high quality, I have a few friends who work directly for the business or sub contract work from them, one of my casual fabricators at the moment is an ex888 fabricator his work is exceptional. Next year having 888 components won't mean squat though. A controlled chassis is exactly that. A controlled chassis. Gaining the most from the said chassis is where guys like dutton and nillsson will shine but the others won't be far behind. -
The guys were leading up till that lap. It actually snapped the lower control arm mounts off the factory rear subframe, race ended. We are now doing a revised rear subframe for the car with strengthened mounts. The guys were really happy and comfortable in the car untill the arse end fell out.......

So Will Sau Folk Still Refuse To Watch V8 Supercars

I wouldn't be expecting 888 dominance next year. COTF is going to level the grid. Any single team or driver could shine. There is a dew guys who have driven specific tube chassis touring cars who could be well up the front next year. Look at the french dude cutting his teeth at the moment. Driven DTM and done very well, could be a real threat..... Doesn't seem like such a stupid idea giving him a drive when the cars of next year are right up his ally. -

It was a boring race today Good to see FPR knock over a 1&2 finish. -
The 300 is to be run again today. There is a skyline team entered in Craig and son Adam burgess. Craig took a race win in the super TT category earlier today. Their car has undertaken some serious enduro additions recently in preparation for this years enduro events. Best of luck to the guys today in the 300.

I'll tell you right now that your cars do not want 5deg of negative camber. Your assuming that the scalloping on the outer edges is from a lack of camber.... What type of tire? Have you actually measured carcas temps? Scrub radius, toe, shock dampening, wheel bearings etc is where you should be starting, The fact you've messed around with the geometry by fitting other control arms etc won't be helping the issue. Lack of neg camber will increase outside wear but not directly cause scalloping (lack of neg camber, poor scrub radius or stuffed shocks obviously will) Some of the fastest GTR's and S chassis cars I build and maintain run as little as 2.75 deg on occasions. 3-3.5 is typical. 4.0 is the most we usually run if it's using slicks and carry enough corner speed to warrant the camber.

You'd be mad to assume that COTF is to be slower than current cars. Better suspension, transaxles, broader engines, specifically designed chassis instead of a monocoque. It may take some time for engineers and drivers to grasp the chassis but they will be far from slower.

Nothing pressurized. I weld all alloy myself or a good mate of mine does some when I'm too busy. This is more general fabrication work. I have some floor pans and exhaust tunnels to be done, a large trailer to be enclosed, some alloy sheet work and cage work on a couple of supercars, There could also be some alloy prep work ( cutting up sheet alloy from drawings for various components) and some cage preparation as well
-
I have a couple of rather large jobs in the pipeline which I'd like to get in and out. Some if anyone is interested in a couple of weeks or possibly a month or twos work then send me a pm. Welding experience is prefered. Alloy welding won't be nessisary but working with all types of steel will be.

Details for fuel cell payment are on the way to you. Yes I'm located in Sydney. No none of the calipers come with any type of adaptor. They double in value when they come with brackets to suit. -
Don't scavenge from the rear of the cylinder head. The entire idea of a dry sump is to create as much vacuum in the crankcase as possible By scavenging at the cylinder head your drawing air back up from the crankcase through the head returns. You want all the negative pressure to be traveling towards the sump. When you do a setup properly the rocker covers will be plugged up and the entire engine sealed. Anything over a 4 stage will need external vacuum regulation. I'll send you a quote when I get a chance.

R34 ball joints are different, as your found out. You can change the balljoint. -
Back into it this week and a GTR recevied some enduro preparation. Front and rear diff coolers Transfer case cooler and a cooler for the seq hollinger. The coolers all have air guides to prevent damage and to force air towards the core. Weve used top shelf tilton pumps and they are being controller by independant temp switches in each diff etc. The car also got a rather large fuel cell and fuel system revamp with a dry break filler and tank venting for fast fills and 0 fuel spilling. Photos of the tank latter once the boot is finished off. Next week have the insight motorsports S2000 to re cage and an EVO 7 in for a mild steel cage.
