  1. No I won't be around on Monday. I'm doing the rounds and quoting up a heap of fabrication for other workshops. I'll be back in tuesday as normal
  2. Thanks nick. I will chase it up tomorrow (is on my list of things to do) and let you know how it's progressed.
  3. Roy I got your email. Battery relocation sorted.
  4. It was a rather good night pete! Neil and yourself got a bit messy. Old mate Brian wasnt making much sence latter on in the night either. Did Duncan snavel the kombi or couldn't you see to the other side of the table...... I'm back now and straight back into the pile of work that is literally lining up at the gate.
  5. I have a lot of pm's about dry sump kits. My setups are very close to now being available to people other than my immediate customers. I'm going to be including 3/4/5 stage morosso pumps Oil tank and mounts Oil tank breather tank Pro fabrication dry sump pan (seen in this thread) A/C location pump bracket ATi balancer (1000hp) ATi drive mandrel HTD belt and drive gears Earls oil cooler Earls oil block and remote mount Rocker cover blacking plugs. Adjustable oil pressure hob switch Enough earls fittings to plumb the entire system and hose included as well. No sway bar modification needed. No external head drain needed. Tried and proven in several of my customers race GTR's Finalizing details with earls regarding the plumbing at the moment so pricing will be out late this week early next week. Price will be a shake up compared to what's currently available and it will include hose and fittings!!!
  6. 38x6mm tube for a rollcage!!! Obviously it's not a regular automotive cage?? CDS 38x2.6 350mpa is a minimum requirement for everything other than hoops. CAMS are about to release a minimum requirement for 4130 and T6 materials for certified cage manufacturers (CDS / CDW anyone can fabricate rules will remain apparently) I can tell you it's not 38x6mm as a min requirement though. Sure it's not 38x3mm?? (6mm total wall)?? I know alot of suppliers, performance metals, race tech and myself were nil stock of anything under 3mm wall 4130 late last year. The only available sensible size was 44 & 38x3mm.
  7. It's a step in the right direction for sure. Obviously a high powered RWD is going to benefit from more pro squat to gain traction. But it's a fine line to get traction without losing forward drive. The more the rear end squats the less forward drive you have despite the added traction. One way is to use the r33 subframe. Or alternatively modify the R33 pick up points subtly by cutting the mounts off at the subframe and doing a cut and shut. They look 100% factory when done properly
  8. Offset bushes are one way of doing the job. I don't use them though The last one I did ( as well as 90% of the other ones) Was to press out the old bushes which can be a nightmare and cut the actual subframe. The ends are re shaped and then re welded back on. I do it this way for a few reasons. By cutting the mounts off I can sit the subframe in the jig and adjust the pro/anti squat depending on the vehicle. It makes machining subframe shims so much easier. If you really get stuck and need them interstate etc you can so just use a normal washer. In some categories it's possible to tell that the subframe is modified or not factory fitted. I machine centered alloy bushes or just refit aftermarket ones. The bushes I machine also have some minor geometry changes. R33 has some minor improvements at the lower control arm prodimimatly to do with squat angles.
  9. Also comes with a spare tranmission, and loads of cabin spares.
  10. This is probably most relevant to guys in here so thought I'd put up a bit of an add for it. If the mods want to move it feel free. The truck itself is a 1981 ford cargo. The engine is a rebuilt 6.5L turbo diesel with a 6 speed transmission (syncro box not dog engagement) Engine has just had a new head gasket, injector pipes, injectors tested and an aftermarket intercooler setup done. Runs great, blows a touch of white smoke on start up when it's been siting around for a few weeks but otherwise no issues. Sits on 90-100km/h all day long, fully loaded it does slow to 80-85 going up decent hills. The rear section is a fully enclosed and totally lockable pan. It's 2.5m wide and I think 6.8m long (will measure latter) 2.5tonne tailgate loader that's been modified recently to be more reliable. Lifts a full weight r33 GTR no problem. 2tonne winch mounted inside the truck. 3x batteries with 240v inverter. 12v lighting internally. Front bench internally and storage areas for tools and straps etc. Requires an MR license to drive. Selling as I'll be needing to upgrade to a twin car truck soon and I don't have the space to keep two trucks at the workshop. Has 3 months NSW rego (heavy vehicles can have 3months Regis done) I'll put up photos of people want to see it. Inspections welcome. Intercooler setup will be complete this coming week. Asking $12,000 Ono.
  11. RCI fuel cell I believe to be sold pending payment when I return. I'll be back in Sydney this coming week and would REALLY like to move the R34 out of the workshop. If someone is even remotely considering it send me an offer. I do want it and all the parts I have for it gone......
  12. I'll let you know matt. Pat my welder will be in and out while I'm away if you need it in more of a hurry mate
  13. Some final work that was completed before heading off for a week. Integra full cage with floor reinforcments and jacking points Fire wall and shock tower support. Engine bay alloy fabrication The custom made front mounted forced air box First job back will be a 4130 cage for the insight motorsports S2000 and an enduro setup for a GTR. Large fuel tank, oil coolers for everything brake ducting and more
  14. Did you all in sick for Monday yet, ive got a week off. I no longer have a HR31 in my driveway either!
  15. His already begun subtle but neat mods to it. Very nice car. Pain in the arse to get onto the hoist!
  16. And the other wave of super mupets that actually think the GTR is the best race car ever to grace the earth when in reality they are a terrible platform to start with compared to other vehicles available! Faster in corners comments are just made by people with blind folds on. Over weight, front heavy, dated technology, terrible geometry, expensive to run blah blah. We are all enthusiasts but the fan boys who have never actually owned a real race spec GTR shit me to tears. The deal with Kelly racing was not put together overnight. It was well known that there was discussions taking place. One team ive had some dealings with recently buying parts from will also be following KR's lead and taking on a new manufacturer come the COFT too.
  17. By 9pm pete will be too drunk to remember if he even owns pants let alone is wearing any.
  18. Thanks roy. I'll return your call tomorrow too. Had myself burried in last min welding jobs today. I don't think the venue's bar will know what hit it with pete drinking there.......
  19. ^^^^^^ you got my vote Dan......
  20. Dave is right that's not been assembled properly. It appears to have had the braided sheath peeled right back and not protruding into the locking nut at all. The braid should go through the locking nut and then be peeled back to insert an olive that locks onto the Teflon inner when the interference fit of the braid and lock nut sandwich everything together.
  21. To be honest I've never even taken the lid off to check...... If it really matters I can check tomorrow and let you know. I'll take $180 for it if you organize courier etc. Brad
  22. Thanks for the support weapon. I've had an absolute gun fabricator working with me for the last fortnight, his done everything and wanted something new to try his hand at. So cage work was on the agenda, we've knocked out a couple of really nice chromolly cages this week and last.
  23. Sorted Novak. Sorry if some guys are waiting on replies. I'm getting married this weekend and have been flat out trying to finalize work and wedding things, so unfortunately some quotes and replies are taking time.
  24. Now I understand. Yeah I've done plenty of r&d with various upright setups for the GTR. They are not the type of thing that I sell to anyone who I dont permanantly prepare the car for though. They are not a miracle cure for the GTR's issues. It still requires alot of setup work to become beneficial. From experience with selling them to people, if they are installed and setup properly they work, if not the car goes backwards. It's not worth selling them to people to have them complain they don't work, which is how it was heading.
