Bnr32 Track Build
Risking replied to Kaido_RR's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
5k for replacement arms that do stuff all different to the factory shit other than a few average rose joints and some left and right hand thread for basic adjustment. Oh and a crappy roll center "correction" for the lower arm. 5k can get you a complete set of custom 4130 molly arms with top shelf joints, new rear uprights, modded front uprights and superior geometry to boot. -

I don't mean to be rude but seriously you are jerking yourself with brand name shit that you don't need and you'll still be slow as hell unless you learn to drive. You don't need half the shit your catalouge shopping for just for the sake of people drooling over your parts. Have a look at any serious "track car" that has points on the board so to speak, instead of the track queen cars that are being built left right and center. The ex BSM ipra car is the perfect example. There is no fancy arc exhaust, or other crap just a solid base that works. My old car had a duel mild steel set of side pipes, nothing fancy but it worked and was quick enough to win races. The only guys who seem to have thr right mentality are the quick s13 silvias doing the rounds simple and effective as opposed to parts whores which never cut the laps they should! that's my rant. -
HKS turbo kit back up for sale. Please if you don't have the funds don't enquire. Looks like the s13 and coilovers are sold.

On the whole shock topic at your experiane level I rekon I could throw a set of bc coilivers in your car then use the same springs in a set of 18grand penske's and honestly I'd be very suprised if you could determine which shock was which. We've done it with a few guys who have campained state level sedans for a while. I have a set of Bc's a set of proflex and a set of penske's that will fit a gtr easily if you wanna see what I mean. Don't waste your money on stupidly expensive shocks just because they are a Jap brand name and expensive. I'm not recommending you buy bc's either I'm recommending you don't buy something overkill. I'm sure the serious qld guys would agree if I said have a chat with Murray coote about getting a set of shocks made up to suit your application and budget. Springs your kidding youself if you rekon 10plus! Been there Tested that. I'd garantee you'll take a second atleast out of the car with the right springs, even more so if you do get the weight down. Good to see another gtr being built. -
Also have a pair of BRAND new z32 air flow meters, purchased from AFI they are genuine bosch and have plugs. There were bolted to a car wired up with a power fc. Driven to the tuner and removed due to a vipec being fitted instead. Perfect condition genuine Bosch $500

I do tend to agree. Unless you have the budget to dry sump, atleast get a dog box, spend some good money on suspension and keep on spending then a GTR is not the best choice. That said they can be a fun weekend warrior if your happy to leave things basic and just drive. I raced my old car door to door for a few years and it cost me a massive amount over that time period. Spent more time fixing it than racing it actually. It finished and won several meetings but the expense of keeping an engine fresh and turbos healthy etc etc was daunting. Mine was dry sumped with the best of everything as well. -

Stripping R33 Gtst And Other Parts
Risking replied to zebra's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Price for the shell minus everything your pulling out of it?? You can probably guess what I want it for so nothing unnessisary needed... -
Long story but I bent this kit cage up for a mate of mine who wanted a cage for his r32 GTR. However the car has been written off and his not in the position to have it fitted etc anymore. So I'm selling it to recoupe some of the money on his bahalf. The cage currently includes - 44od CDS mandrel bent main hoop, single diagonal one horozontal - 44od CDS front legs, follow the a pillar will require some tweaking to sit perfectly on the pillar - 44od CDS rear legs, long enough to reach shock towers or wheel arches - 38od CDS single roof diagonal Windscreen support Rear cross for rear legs Full X style intrusions Rear harness bar with machined eyelet bosses Front leg to main hoop supports Rear leg to main hoop supports - pre cut floor plates and mounts - extras like dash bar and full hoop cross an easily be added during assembly this is all raw material precut to length. To fit it into the car you will need to have everything knotched and welded in etc.this is not a bolt in or DIY cage. All material is from racetech steel, I can supply an MDS and documentation for the steel. Any bends are mandrel and within cams rules. If welded and assembled properly it is a cams approved design. Asking $1350 pick up from Sydney. This is a top quality cage not some cheap shitty exhaust shop knock up cage. Material is 2nd to none. If it doesn't sell I'll pay him myself and keep the cage for a rainy day. I may be able to offer fitting if the car is local and time permiting.

Selling a full set of BC external resiviour coilovers. I bought them for an s13 I have which has now sat around for 12months an not turned a wheel. So some of the parts I aquired for it can fund other projects I currently have. When I got them they went on a shock dyno and the front rebound valving was altered to suit the spring rate I wanted to try them with. Since then they were fitted to a mates 180sx and and did a hand full of Oran park GP laps and a couple of laps around Wakefield park. That's all the work they have done. Few scratches from the bolts and washers but otherwise perfect condition. Can supply with eibach springs for a little extra or the original BC springs for the asking price. Located in western Sydney asking $1200.

It would be nice If everythibng was parallel. it does look very much that way in those photos but it's not. It does have a little bump steer which is easily tunable, it has some camber gain which is built into the chassis design.

Attesa 4wd System
Risking replied to dynafit's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
The expense is massive. More than your r34 gtt is worth. You need to cut the floor out to fit the gtr transmission tunnel and prop shaft area. The entire front subframe and an awd sump to the rb25. Entire gtr uprights and drive shafts. The rear will need the matching diff ratio. You need the boot resiviours and lines the actuator and pump under the rear quarter. Then you need the box, transfer and tail shafts. Haven't even begun to wire it up and trouble shoot any other problems yet either. I'm pretty acustom to stupid conversions people undertake, but the awd into a gtt is one I'd recommend against. You'd be looking down the throat of 15 grand plus as you'd need to buy a wrecked r34 to ensure you have all the parts to begin with -
Here are a few photos from the early mock up stage of the rear suspension and one of the front early mock up. You can see the fabricated rear upright which has now been modified, jigged and built from 4130. Same sort of principal though. I have built Jigs for every final part from the protypes. Alot of this has now changed and been finished off with the right materials and fully welded. Ride height in those photos is a bit higher as well. The rims are just dumby fits, it has 18*13 rears and 12.5 fronts. The GTR rear diff is also mounted properly now and driveshafts are being made. I have tried to stick with as much usable R32-R34 parts as possible on this car to try and keep it simple when spares are needed, alot of things can be used on either of the GTR's which is handy.
-
The body shell for that chassis is 100% r34. Yes I cut up an r34. It's being moulded and prepared now The blue shell sitting on it is now for another car.
-
All control arms are or will be 4130 once I'm happy with them. I've been making 3 or more arms till I'm 100% happy with it so instead of wasting Molly tube and money I prototype everything in mild steel tube first. Same as the uprights they are now 4130 but the ones in that photo are just old cage material offcuts to get it right. The hubs are original GTR mounted to a custom tube upright. The front are original r32gtr uprights and bearings with custom pins and mounting locations. All the pick ups on te chassis rails are now done in proper laser cut 4130 folded plates.
-
Not for long though mate;) suspension points are done properly now. those were just mock ups made from flat bar to get the geometry right. The front is also complete.

R32/r33 Rear Cradle/assembly Dimensions
Risking replied to Craved's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have a jig for skyline subframes front and rear. It's fairly specific for the chromolly tube subframes I do but your welcome to take basic measurements of it. Mounting locations etc are all factory. I won't send it anywhere and i don't want the geometry/pick up locations measured though as it has taken me alot of time, experiance and money to get right. -
That's actually a really interesting rule.like Duncan said it certainly would wake up the competition. You need a light car that looks after it's tires well. I'd try and get it into the 1250kg 8 inch rim category. The extra inch or rim width is only going to help with corner speed something that can be had with well sorted suspension as opposed to slower acceleration and straight line speed which requires more power and possibly less reliability. Do you know what the car weighs?
