I have noticed stalling only a couple of times in about 9 months of use and yeh it is like you say dependant on how you drive.. its not an issue whatsoever.. still haven't seen any failure related to it tho..

... I run no BOV on my daily driver/track car and have had no problems.. the same goes for a lot of my friends who run higher horsepower track only cars and they have never had one single problem related to running no BOV... It may have been posted before but do you have a documented case of turbo failure due to no BOV?

Could be your ignitor module also.... I know what you mean by it not sounding like a fuel backfire - the car actually sounds like a WRX... and will drive like a peice of shit..

Another thing we were possibly thinking about was getting an RB25 rear housing machined to fit the disco.. that way its a straight bolt to manifold jobby not to mention retaining the same dump.. all in by 4000 doesn't seem too bad either..

Maybe, I guess the only way I will find out for sure is to actually do it myself.. or if someone who has done can come forward..

true, plus boost is just a clutch kick away

because of the stroke of the SR it has the torque already there before boost comes in.. helping a lot, the RB just doesnt have the stroke..

Mmm, not gunna worry about a highflow.. I do realise I will need the flange adapter, oil + water lines, but just considering something different.. However talking to a fella I know, he reckons it should go alright, but will be fairly laggy. Won't go as well as it does on an SR due to RB not having the dynamic torque that the SR's have..

Hey bloke, I had a similar prob a little while ago.. car would start firing on 5, ran and sounded like shit.. drove around with my coil cover off, when it started messing up again i'd pull over and disconnect the coilpacks 1 by 1 until the idle didn't change.. took No.6 off and nothing happened, changed it out, haven't had the problem since and the car has received a huge thrashing after just competing in two consecutive days of drift comp... didn't miss a beat... coil was cheap too - $25..

While I was competing at the comp I heard about this, thought it was completely shit... punishing people who took the time, money and effort to compete legally in a sport they love... f**ked.. at least by the time we left the track at 8 there weren't any still around..

on SR's the disco is not too laggy, doesn't have huge top end power, but is pretty grunty down lower... what would make it work differently on an RB20? Im no expert but would it have something to do with the different exhaust pulses(and volume of gas in each pulse) of the SR and RB's?(Considering they are the same displacement, just 2 more cylinders..)

Or just mount your external pump - internally... mine works fine and has done for a long time...

I just did a quick search, but didn't see anything relevant - How do you guys reckon a Discopotato(GT2860R i think) would go on an RB20? too laggy? Just considering some new turbo options for the 20 and a few mates suggested this.. EDIT* This is for a heavily drift orientated setup by the way..

Ah there you go! you can use the R30 one Spewin about that tho as I had an R30 sitting in my yard that a wrecker picked up off me before I realised I could have used the resistor pack from it...

Dunno about making one, have you tried searching for it? You could call an import wrecker to find a GTR one.. I also remember reading somewhere that you can use the resistor pack out of an R30.. doing a search would be your best bet on finding the instructions tho, if there are any..
