VR38 from R35 is the go if you want to do a transplant, just need to find a gearbox that will cope with it. I love 2J's but it would be too difficult putting one where a V6 used to be.

Thanks Toshi, very helpful. I take it you are not going to buy the reader/writer yourself? I think at around $500 for a remap the reader will pay for itself very quickly as I think there is at least 10 people wanting this done.

I don't know how many are interested Toshi but I would think there would be at LEAST 10 would like an ecu re-write.

So the suction pipe doesn't max the injectors just the AFM? If that's the case wouldn't a fuel cut defender fix that by clamping at say 4.6V? If the injectors are maxed then obviously needs bigger injectors. -

My name is actually Rich. Lol! I don't think it matters if you don't have the exhaust right now lets get the tuning done for an exhaust i/c and whatever else and then you can just drop the ecu straight in and be ready to go. Three inch is 75mm so I don't know why he is on about about 80mm or 90mm, who has that?!!! I am definitely in on this. So who wants what? I want: Boost raise to 1.1bar Throttle restriction removal Speed limit renoval (not fussed on this but it seems standard) Leaning off of the mixtures foir better economy

Me? If my turbo blows then a standard rebuild will suffice. I'm not doing injectors and supporting mods etc it's just not worth the effort in this car as far as I'm concerned. That's my choice and I would honestly be happy if I had 180kw atw. If I want a mental car it will be a track only car because the temptation to get up a registered car is too great and it would be bye bye licence. Anyway, who else is going to go for the G Zone? Ryan? You in?

Nah I have been there many times and have learnt my lesson! This car's mds will end with the ecu and MAYBE a boost controller. I'm not rebuilding gearboxes etc. This car is never going to be stupid fast witout a LOT of money spent on it and if I wanted to do that I would start with a VQ35 and do what Scott has done.

Well I'm still up for the re-map. For the price we are going to get an ecu that is somewhat custom written for the mods we have so I think it's worthwhile over a generic Mines or Impul one. For Craig and Scott with heavily modded cars it is probably a different story but I'm never goin that far with my car and the only other mod I can think of doing is maybe a boost controller. I've pretty much convinced myself this is what I'm going to do unless someone sneds me an Impul or Mines or Nismo ecu for $100. Craig? Andy??? Anyone?

It's not that I value economy above all else but I do want it better because I'm paying $1.50+ for 92 ron down here! If I'm driving it hard then the economy is what it is but if I'm not then I'd like it better than what it is for such a modern engine. E Manage works out pretty expensive for me as the car and I have to go on the boat from here to Cihan and back so it makes the G Zone more economical for me. I just hope they can give us what we want in a re-map.

I'm not going to get an e manage ever so I just want one decent tune with everything I want and I'm done. This is my family car so it's going to stay nice and easy to drive and with a bit more power and I'm happy.

No idea why they think exhaust size difference btw 80 and 90 mm would matter. Sounds weird. Anyway I'm in. I have plenum spacer, dump pipe and full exhaust and upgraded intercooler. I would like throttle restriction removal, boost to 1.1 bar, speed cut doesn't bother me I'm not taking the car to a track and would like much improved fuel economy.

This will go nowhere. I'm sure he "thinks" he can do the re-flash but as we have discovered time and again our cars and ecu's are very different to what they have encountered before and I'm sure they won't want to lay out too much time and money to get it to work for such a small market. Would be nice if they could though! I'm still putting my money on G Zone being the company we use. Or , OR SAS will finally come through! haha NOT!

I'm not sure! What other options do they have? I would probably only go the standard stuff with the throttle restriction removal. My wife LOVES this car and I'm not allowed to do much else! Still I told her all the other stuff was for longevity (dump, exhaust, plenum spacer) but she definietley wants better economy so I can get the ecu no problem I think (read hope haha).

Hopefully we can get from G Zone exactly what they are willing to do so there's no confusion. I just want the performance I'm missing better fuel economy when I'm toodling around taking it easy. I don't think that's too much to ask as we know we aren't getting full throttle and we also know that the japs love to tune cars super rich from the factory.

What I was getting at was G Zone will actually do the re-map unlike evryone else we have approached and we know they can do it.

Well I'm guessing that part of the tuning may well be a leaning off of the A/F ratios which will most certainly give better economy. Not everyone drives like a wanker and has to fang it non stop. Better off boost and low boost around town economy should be easily achieved by this. I can accept poor economy if I cane it but when I drive on the highway or around town with the kids in the car I would like better economy than I'm getting now.

Good stuff. I would definitely be interested in a remap especially if we can get better economy as well as the removal of the throttle restrictions down low.
