It looks like he'll be doing some fairly basic upgrades as far as power is concerned, I think you'll find the stock brakes are more than adequate. It is a good idea to fit some quality pads and change the fluid but apart from that the stock 33 gtst brakes a very good. For street driving there is really no point, now if you were going to be going to the track then yes, you might start to experience brake fade but for every day driving and the occasional emergency braking situation, there is no point in upgrading.

Looking To Turbo My Rb25de 4 Door Auto
insu replied to punisher6942's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=69998 This has been covered numerous times. IMO either sell the car and buy a turbo, or buy a half cut. -

Yeah well, last I heard the 8800gts and 8800gtx were still running beta drivers so hopefully when the drivers get released properly there won't be any issues. Normally I wouldn't buy a video card that is the first of its kind (first direct x 10 card) and wait for them to iron out any kinks, but atomic and a few other mag's gave the cards good reviews so I was willing to give it a go. In any case I won't know until the computer gets back next week now!

Hey guys, I've talked to the guys and they are taking it back and given me a new case and testing all the components etc, they didn't say it was their fault, but they didn't blame the courier either. The thing is, I would say it was the courier's fault except for the fact that: 1) The box wasn't damaged, and 2) I couldn't find the broken clips anywhere, and there should have been like 10 of them (6 but they break into two pieces) Anyway, its all being looked after, no cost to me, I'm just annoyed cause its like another 7 days without my computer (due to the fact that its a 4 day weekend this weekend!) As for building it myself, well it wasn't a prebuilt system, I picked all the parts myself but the cost of shipping all the individual boxes was actually going to cost more than if I got them to assemble all the parts and just send the tower box. The graphics card is actually a pre overclocked 8800gts 640mb, it was actually more like 620 or so. I wanted to get something which was direct x 10 compat.

Thanks. Don't worry though, I will get it fixed Or there will be hell to pay

So here I was eagerly awaiting my brand new PC which I have order from a very reputable place in Sydney (I won't name the company on the forum until I've heard back from them, and exactly what they are going to do about this situation). Sure enough three boxes came today. Box number 1) Ah that would be my shiny new 22" LCD wide screen monitor.... nice. Box number 2) Well that's my 5.1 surround speakers, very nice.... can't wait to set you up! Box number 3) Ah yes, the piece de resistance! Here it is! Yes....... Oh shit.... the front fascia just f**king fell off.... Hmmmm, maybe it wasn't attached properly.... nope that's not the case, all the 6 clips that hold it on are broken. Great. Ohhhh and that's not all, what do I find down the back right next to my brand new $700 video card? Why is that a big f**king ding? Yes it is! I'm sure I didn't order that.... So at about this time I'm thinking: f**king courier company threw my computer around, so I checked the box: Its fine, no damage anywhere, not least where the ding would match up. Its perfect. Then I go looking for all the broken clips that should be floating around from the front fascia.... Ahhhh, not in the computer tower.... that's odd, maybe in the plastic..... nope not in the plastic... In the box perhaps? Nope.... So where does this lead me to logically? Either a) The courier company found my box, unpacked it. Pulled the front off, broke off all the clips, put them in the bin, hit the side of the case with a hammer then packaged it all back up, taped it up and sent it on to me. or option b) The company who built my computer either used a f**ked case or much worse, installed all my components then dropped it. I've attached some photo's for your viewing pleasure!

The statistics do show a disproportionately high number of young males involved in road crashes and deaths..... What they don't want to tell you is how many of those crashes were with the young male driving, not as a passenger. The number of young males in crashes/road deaths who are DRIVING are actually pretty inline with the rest of Australia's road using groups (slightly above it must be said). This is how the do the statistics (just listen to the wording they use next time on TT or ACA): In the year XXXX there were 1,234 males under the age of 22 who were involved in crashes on Australian roads, while at the same time the number of females aged 22-38 only had 584 crashes while driving their cars..... See what I mean? You can make it sound bad without actually 'lying'.

Have you adjusted your idle screw?
-
No, I never said the AAC valve doesn't work when its cold. What I said was there is a valve under the AAC which is the cold start valve. It allows more air in at cold idle rather than hot idle, this is why cars rev higher when cold. The AAC is like a stepper motor, and is controlled by the ECU. It can most definitely affect the car when cold, however it is not the only fix there are numerous reasons why a skyline idle hunts. If it only affects the car when cold I would start looking at the water temp sender, cold start valve and work my way from there.

If anyone can let me know how to change those full size photo's back to the thumbnails please let me know. I think it makes the DIY alot easier to read when they were small. Cheers -Insu

Ok I've modified the post to put the pictures back in the body of text, just two issues with this 1) The attachments are all still attached down the bottom, I don't know how to get rid of them? 2) The photo's are displaying in full size rather than the click-able thumb's they were before. Can someone please verify that the post is working? Ie photos are coming up in order etc. Oh and if anyone is reading the post and thinks one of the photo's doesnt match the text, let me know. I might have got it wrong when I put them back up. Cheers -Insu

Hmmm something is still going on funky with the post as I can see it too. Like I said I'm guessing it has something to do with the forum update. Can anyone else please view the first page and let me know exactly how it is layed out to them? Thanks, -Insu

You're all damned hoons! Every single one of you! What with your music turned up loud: hipping and your hopping and your Mick Jaggers and what nots. Not to mention you're all disrespectful to your elders, you don't appreciate what you've got (we didn't have playstations, mobile phones or the wheel in my day). Oh and you're all on drugs. Damned hoons. But they're all right guys. Instead of doing things like: 1) Spending money on our cars 2) Meeting up with other car enthusiasts at certain locations 3) Going on cruises 4) Talking about cars/modifications/performance etc We should be doing what our socially responsible parents did when they were our age like: 1) Spending money on their cars 2) Meeting up with other car enthusiasts at locations 3) Going on cruises 4) Talking about cars/modifications/performance etc. Hmmmmm.

Hmmmmm, all the pics are there. For some reason they've all just been compiled together at the bottom of the post rather than in their correct places. I'm guessing this has something to do with the board update. If it doesn't fix itself, i'll reformat the post.

Ok here's the set-up: I have cable internet. The cable internet modem is ethernet based. I bought a D-link wireless router which is plugged in between the modem and the main computer. The main computer continues to run fine. I've run the disc that came with the wireless router and follow all the steps which setup the wireless network which is all sweet. Now here's the tricky part. My laptop has wireless built in, I can find the wireless network and I can connect to it. In my network connections it says: Connected, signal strength good etc, 54mps. But I can't access the internet. I've already tried troubleshooting, I've tried: Entering the MAC address into the config settings when connecting to the wireless network. Doesn't work. Tried turning on the 128bit WEP key and entering that into the laptop conecting to the network. Doesn't work. I had a dial-up account on the laptop which I thought might have been interfering with the browser conecting to the net, so it's deleted but it still doesn't work. I've also tried pinging a few sites through msdos but that doesn't work. I've also tried turning off my firewall, and that doesn't work. Does anyone know what i'm missing here? I'm about ready to chuck the router out the window, any help would be greatly appreciated! -Insu

Sorry, I know that we've moved on but: This thread is in Queensland/Australia. Hence Aussie spelling, nuff said. (P.s. I get the irony of the fact I wrote nuff etc.) Mr Toy, what's happening on the private front of going after this police officer you were talking about? Also, are you getting all your expenses/legal bills etc paid for?
