  1. Would love to but just way way too much work on leading up to Christmas... Struggling to get the car anywhere at the moment. Bring on the new track!
  2. Get a buddy to press the brake pedal in your car while you look under the bonnet. If he pressed hard you'll see the brake booster moves. It's flexing on the mounts. A stopper essentially braces this and can give you a slightly better feel.. Not a lot of difference in my opinion though.
  3. mmm... not sure I am allowed to say... "..what happens in Vegas......." I can tell you I drove a Lambo Murcielago for 5 laps at a track though! Hoping to get to the McRae Twilight Sprint (or, as we like to call it - the rim killer track) on Dec 6th.
  4. +2 for Stilo. Best, cleanest I've heard. So real, I can even feel Snowy's hot breath in my ear... <disturbing> Seriously though - it even seems to 'compress' audio so that when you have to shout to someone outside the car (or sneeze) your driver doesn't cop it really loud.. great intercom.
  5. Well read your signature... 135mph?? Sheesh! You get NO head starts..!
  6. haha! I was only having a dig about not holding it flat on the esses mate.. with street tyres and circa 600hp (I'm guessing on 1.4bar) I doubt I'd be holding it flat through there! Sorry I didn't make it up for a look and to say g'day. Brakes still all good though obviously??
  7. Yep, I run DMS 9kg front, and 5.5kg rears. Interestingly for the 32 GTR this is their (DMS) "targa spec" rates with valving to suit. So more of an all-rounder than a straight circuit setup. You certainly can't afford it to be drifting or spinning wheels in a Targa event I assure you. And it feels very sure-footed - still with some good compliance. As Roy points out, a good deal has to do with valving too. I think a lot of people try to 'over dampen' - using the shock to 'stiffen' the ride.
  8. Good work Simon! With all that new found grip out of corners I definitely will not be giving you ~any~ head start onto the front main straight at next years Powercruise... Grip ftw!
  9. Glad you posted this up Jimmy. My aircon hasn't been regassed and made working yet since we put the motor back in 6 months ago. A couple of years back I took it to a A/C place and they got it going but it was only cool, not cold. Would be great if you could have a look at it some time.
  10. Nice footage and good time on street tyres there Richard. What camera are you running and also what street tyres exactly. Did well to keep so close to Franz also on street tyres.. well done. Hey - didn't keep it flat through the esses though??
  11. Still working on busting mine.... Can't be too long now...
  12. Yep. I Don't disagree with that. Just making the point that the Tomei extra flow is not likely the 'problem' since flow is all to do with restriction as you pointed out. Hence i dont think theTomei is pumping more oil to the head if all variables including pressure relief valve are the same. I One advantage to extra flow is getting oil pressure quicker at startup.
  13. Thats because you've reduced the restriction by having a larger exhaust housing... But in the oil pumps case nothing forward of the pump has changed.
  14. Well as he said above there are of course lots of threads on it. The problem I find with all of them is that exhausts and how they sound/look is a very personal thing. Everyone has a different opinion etc. Bottom line is you can't go too far wrong with any of the jap brand cat backs. What I would do personally is go to a track day and have a look/listen to some of the cars there and make my decision on what you see there. FWIW I have an HKS 'Silent' HiPower and like it. But it aint that silent when you get up it.
  15. That makes no sense to me. The overall volume of oil pumped is going to be set by the pressure relief valve is it not? e.g. if an N1 pump has a relief valve set to 80psi, and so does the Tomei, then on the same motor the volume pumped through the bearings/restrictors and what not will be the same.. Since the Tomei's pressure is externally adjustable - simply set it to be a realistic pressure, anything 'flow' beyond that is returned to the sump. Or have I missed something?
  16. Be Interested to hear your results once you upgrade your exhaust system. Think you'll find boost comes on a lot sooner..
  17. Half the problem is knowing what to look for.. when you look into the oil feed on the turbo you don't easily see the 'restrictor' part. But actually you are looking right at it. I took a photo of mine out of the turbo. You see the tiny hole on the side (this one is 0.8mm, the -5's came with 1.2mm originally) hope these photos might help.. but to summarize, yes, -5 do come with a 1.2mm restrictor. (oh and yes this turbo pictured is a -7.. but -5 is same)
  18. If you call Ross, they gave a seperate idler setup.. You also won't have to tighten the belt up so much. http://blog.rossperformanceparts.com/alloy-power-steering-idler-kit/
  19. Right back at you Oz, good to meet you and some of the other guys. Good atmosphere there - relaxed and just plain good fun. Also whored myself out jumping into other cars - saves fuel! Great fun being a passenger. Gavs car was as usual unreal.. we had 4 guys in the car, all 90kg+ and were still toasting people. How good is that.. Kev's Torana (Mumbo) was also just flat out fun with a shot of NOS. Awesome sound, smooooth power and deceptively quick. Threw the arm out the window to give some 'Torana Arm' and then he flicks open the glovebox and gives me a mullet-wig to put on.. haha! it was great. Noted also a timeslip in there with a 10.9 on it.. mumbo indeed..! I'm booking my next years entry tomorrow. Great weekend.
  20. ...hope the weather is going to be good for it... Forecast is looking wet at the moment, which will be disappointing.. need some of that blue sky spring weather!
  21. Thumbs up on this one. Clean, tidy, purposeful.
  22. Big fellaa! Must catch up on your trip - but in the meantime I could use some RS29's for the mono6 Alcon's if I am not too late??
  23. I see you're using an interesting replacment for a cat there... Adds a bit of bark to it does it?
  24. ok, but at the moment the TPS is shared between the standard ECU and Motec..? So could you not delete the connection to the std ECU and instead run it directly to ETS? ie let ETS and Motec share this one sensor? Otherwise I assume what I have now 'should' not be working..? But how else do you get you TPS signal to both Motec and the std ECU? (I hope I haven't just asked a really dumb question.... there is something about it which makes me think I have..)
  25. Constant work in progress mate, coming along though and having fun.
