  1. Just ran diagnostics. Only code 55 which i'm pretty sure is because it used to be auto and i did a manual conversion so the computer thinks the auto isn't responding. So this would pretty much rule out all sensors wouldn't it?
  2. It would only rev to 1k rpm tops. I didn't think intake cam being only 1 tooth out would make that much diference? Checked all plugs on CAS, AFM and TPS. I was thinking along the lines of a bodgy TPS as there doesn't seem to be any reaction to throttle movements at all. I might run diagnostics when i get home from work and see if there's any codes.
  3. Tries to and can't. The belt was put on with all the markings and everything lined up properly.
  4. Also interested in answers to the above questions. Height and damper adjustable, brand and type? PM me!
  5. Just finished changing my timing belt and pulleys. Started up the car and came across a weird problem. The car wont rev. It starts and idles fine, but when you give it any throttle, even WOT it doesn't rev at all. Everything else seems to be fine. CAS was put back in exactly the same place it was when i pulled it off, also double checked its plugged in. Any ideas what's happened?
  6. The only skyline on CC i can think of that comes close to this discription is Slither and it definately wasn't him! Also I spotted R3SP3CT (i think... the white 33 with no front bar and big front mount) some time in the last couple of days. All i remember was it was morning and it was in belco.
  7. I know exactly what you mean! Its even funnier when you give it some so they can't sneak in front and they ride your ass like angry little scooter men! Proper motor bikes i don't mind and I let in every time but these gay faggio scooters just aren't motorbikes!
  8. Well they were both replaced not that long ago so i was thinking the idler pulley that was put on may have been faulty?
  9. On my R32 GTST either the tensioner or the idler pulley has siezed up. It is the pulley on the passenger side. I'm not sure which one it is because I haven't pulled the bottom half of the timing cover off yet because i need to bring home a harmonic balancer puller from work. Can anyone help me out? I'd like to get the new pulley ordered so i can have the car back on the road tomorrow. Catching a bus to work just isn't fun!
  10. Hey Nick, if you still have these in a week PM me and i'll gladly take them off your hands. I'd take them now but i just had to buy a new timing belt and pulleys!
  11. I'm not sure of exactly where it was as there's a lot of confusing tracks up there. Rangers patrol regularly on the tracks though. Should i let them know somehow?
  12. With mine it was near impossible to distinguish where the noise was coming from exactly. And the burning rubber smell would more than likely be the back of the timing belt sliding over the siezed pulley.
  13. Yeah it was hard to tell cos it was dark and i only had my phone torch but it was completely burnt. Couldn't even tell what colour it used to be. The cat-back was already gone. Other than that everything seemed to be there.
  14. Had a quick look and i think you have to pull the CAS to get the timing cover off. So you'll probably have to mark the position its in so you get it in the right spot when you put it back.
  15. I got this exact same weird burning rubbery/plasticy smell yesterday and a screeching relative to engine noise. Pulled over and checked straight away expecting a PS or Alt belt to be slipping. Found smoke coming from my timing case. So i've ordered a new belt and just gotta pull the timing cover off and check whether it was the tensioner or the idler. I'm expecting it to be the idler. I will let you know. Also both pulleys were replaced about 50 000 ago.
  16. Just thought i'd let people know i was cruising around on the random dirt tracks out near where the rally is held out past the cotter and we came across an R32 on its roof burnt out. It was a non turbo model coupe and i think it had a sunroof. So if anyone from here knows of anyone who's 2 door non turbo R32 was stolen then thats where it is.
  17. Interesting!
  18. My RB20DET does this, i used to think it was the auto but i've since done a manual conversion and it still behaves exactly the same. It feels like there's heaps of load on the engine even though there's not, then all of a sudden its fine!
  19. Let me know how it goes as i'm just about to pick up an RB30 block for mine. The old RB20 is on its way out so hopefully i'll have the new engine built by then.
  20. I'm guessing the entire subframe has to be removed to replace these bushes?
  21. I doubt it. I have seen a 32 with 20's but it was a very, very snug fit. The tyres had a tiny profile as well.
  22. I had a similar problem not long ago. Heard a weird noise from the rear end and pulled over to have a look, two nuts were missing, one stud was snapped and the other three nuts were loose. Seems weird this would happen to only one wheel when i tightened them all exactly the same way.
  23. I might have to bail early or something cos i have friends coming into Canberra around that time and they have no idea how to find their way around! Also i just noticed you haven't got me on the final list~!
  24. I can confirm hobzta is a top bloke and he's not about to take off with anyone's car!
  25. If you haven't sold by Friday i'll PM you depending on how my finances are this week!
