  1. Honestly not worth the effort for a temporary solution. (or even a permanent one!) As much as I love teh RB20 i imagine it would be really sluggish hauling a whale around.
  2. I have HKS cast low mount manifold on mine. One thing to keep in mind if you get one of these is size of compressor housing. I had to massage the engine mount slightly to fit the turbo. Very snug.
  3. Are you selling the sunroof glass? What about all the boot trimming? Shoot me a PM if you are!
  4. My manifold is drilled for both T3 and T4.
  5. I have a pair that i'll part with for cheap but offset is +28.
  6. I thought the Trust TD06 used a different flange? I might be wrong, just something i remember reading once.
  7. Thanks for the replies guys. I've owned this car for close to 6 years now and have developed a bit of a soft spot for the RB20. From the reading i've done it seems the 3071 and TD06 seem to be the turbos of choice. Obviously if i want to keep the HKS manifold a Trust TD06 will be out of the question. Does anyone know how the copy TD06 with T3 flange compares to the genuine item? Interesting point you raise about the cams Roy. It's definitely tricky finding definitive results regarding cams in the RB20. I'm quite sure the 270s are far too large for what i want (although they do give it a mean sounding idle). Would a set of baby cam, say 256 degree poncans offer any advantage over the stockers? Or not worth the money?
  8. Yes i understand everyones opinions in the RB20 vs RB25 debate. But all I want to do is put a turbo suited to the application on it and enjoy driving it, which at this point will be cheaper than changing the engine.
  9. I'm not really chasing a certain power number, but i'm chasing more power than I can get with a highflow or turbos along those lines. 240-250ish would be nice and i figure should be plenty for a mainly street driven car. Yes i'm aware the 25 is a better option, but i have these parts lying around so at this point i'd rather just put the parts on and enjoy driving it for a while. The car currently has the hks manifold and gate fitted with a HKS T300s turbo, but that turbo is just too old/laggy/big for the RB20 so i'm looking for something a bit more suitable. So from where it is now it won't be a great deal of work to change turbo. Maybe some slight piping changes and a re-tune.
  10. Hi all, I've been tossing up whether to put an RB25 in my R32 GTST or just to try and squeeze some power out of the RB20. I've decided to stick with the RB20 for the simple reason that I don't want to be pouring too much money into my car right now. So anyway i'd like a bit of help with turbo choice for the RB20. I already have a HKS cast manifold with T3 flange and external gate. I have 2 heads, one completely standard and another with some work done but not sure what. It's obviously had a bit of port work done, it definitely has larger cams which are supposedly HKS 270 degree items. It also has upgraded valve springs and HKS adjustable cam gears. From what i've read in various threads, the RB20 isn't really on song until 4000rpm or more, but i'd still like something fairly responsive. So using the parts I have lying around, what would you guys be suggesting to squeeze some life out of the old RB20?
  11. Built date is March 1997 (not sure when S3 started in R33), its white and i think K is a grey interior. Looks like there's some options on it (15th 16th and 18th letters in option code). I posted a PDF a page or so back that you can use to check the options but you'll need to translate from Japanese.
  12. Anyone heading along to spectate?
  13. I think its the expert series there's a race series for the older (pre 79) le mans type race cars. Can't remember what it's called right now. What cars have people used to finish these races? I've been trying with a Countach with every mod i can buy but the best it can do is 2nd with absolutely no chance of a 1st.
  14. +1 for pics and location please!
  15. Bump. Make an offer guys!
  16. Here you go. No options fitted to this one. You can tell by the five dashes at the end of the model code.
  17. Characters 14 - 18 (in your case HCDBA). I got really bored so i did yours. 16 Inch Aluminium Wheels Sports Rear something (kept translating as interface or boiler... maybe spoiler??) Sports Seats (i think) + GTS25T(more jibberish) something about Stereo Components Passenger Airbag Here is the original 5 descriptions if anyone wants a crack at translating better. Not sure if the forums will display japanese characters though. 16インチアルミホイール リヤワイパー+リヤスポイラー ポーツシート+GTS25タイプS/S(4ドア) コンビステレオ 助手席エアバッグ
  18. Probably better off finding the ones that correspond to your VIN and just translating those few lines rather than having a crack at 8 pages. There should only be 4 lines that apply for each model code.
  19. None of those numbers worked for me. Had a quick look and there's 3 numbers for drivers airbag module to suit a type x 180sx. If you can grab me a VIN from it I can narrow it down.
  20. Have fun! R33.pdf
  21. Here you go.
  22. Options screens for R33's tend to come up as jibberish, i'm assuming because I don't have a Japanese character pack installed on my computer. If I did, i couldn't read it anyway!
