  1. Yep, there's a few undercover cars like that. Gotta watch out :| The next slightly more obvious ones are those with the lights set in the dash (at least it looks like that to me). I guess we were also lucky that the only other popo we/I saw was going the wrong way and that was near the end of our drive.
  2. lol. iseekool: Faulty sensors or not - knock is knock = tuning problem! Cara and her mechanic probably weren't even able to hear any knocking because the sensors were giving false positives. Good stuff cara, glad you're rolling well again!
  3. I'm a rattle NAZI. Find an audio installer (not a workshop, they most likely won't want this fiddly work) who is confident with Skyline interiors, or at least rattles in general but before giving him the car, go find a section of road where you can make the noise happen. Then take the guy out on the road and show him and ask him to fix it. Unless you have shown someone the sound/problem, you can't be certain they fixed it. By the way, those air vents DO start to rattle, it's a foible of skylines (and other cars I've owned). My audio guy reduced it a lot, can't remember how tho
  4. Awesome. This is just the kind of attention I was focussed on the Belco area! :|
  5. Maybe some of the local Defence sub-contracting/imaging/hardware related companies would be interested in contributing: ATI Ltd, Mediaware, Raytheon, BAE Systems, Compucat. They are all either local or have local offices. Dunno how tight they are with their purse-strings though. Maybe Bunnings and hardware stores?
  6. Haha ok... I'd look into how many times a failed turbo = f'cked engine though man... my turbo died with no ill consequence to the engine at all. Same with a mates just recently. Mind you, both those cars have done well over 100,000kms (clocks read a little over 100ks). I'm just looking at it from cheap shortcuts now vs nicer gear later. I hate doing things half assed. BTW, HKS GT-RS FTW, I've got one and it's great
  7. I know people who have accelerated to narrowly avoid being rear ended by a *^%&tard. But you do what you want - you're in Bris, I'm in ACT - doesn't bother me
  8. Yehaa maybe what nizmokid said. I had this happen to me after the car was sitting in a panel beaters for 3 weeks. Failing that, it's called an auto-electrician
  9. Errrr is your current turbo making strange noises like it's going to die, or you're just replacing it out of paranoia? have you boosted it? If not, why not just wait until it starts playing up before boosting and doing those other mods. That way the wedding will have passed and you'll have time to save up and buy whatever high quality parts you want instead of scrounging for whatever you can get in the meantime. It's not a sure thing that a turbo will find it's way into the cylinders anyway. The fans in my stock one completely disintegrated but no parts were found at all haha. I'd say if it isn't broke right now, don't fix it. Oh, and don't bounce it off the limiter etc in the meantime... until you can afford to replace parts.
  10. Haha - the press machine has gone into censorship mode to protect the (not so) innocent, good call
  11. lol even the shoes are wiped out. Whatever it was Baconer, CJ was enthralled too
  12. BUMPAROO. Still for sale, priced to go: - Stock turbo elbow (needed to put a RB25 turbo on an RB20): $30 + shipping (I know I said it was gone before, but buyer pulled out). - R33 GTST stock intercooler - $50 + shipping - Sparkies - make an offer See the parts here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/ga...-album2818.html
  13. Whose Mr Noface?
  14. Great ride, thanks for organising Tarmac! Saw a few things you don't see every day
  15. Spotted Baconer doin his lanudry like me at the car wash in Belco hehe
  16. My bro is an absolute gun with photoshop etc (did it as a profession for a while). I'll see if he has time to come up with something. It would probably be a little more errr arty/conceptualthan the stuff I see here (think Barney's tv ad in the Simpsons), but I'll tell him to keep it simple.
  17. So the crooks can have a field day? lol No way I won't be out... thar be metal in Belco to attend!
  18. I'm NOT a violent person, but if I ever caught a thief having a go at mine, I'm pretty sure I would end up in gaol for a longer time (for the assault) than what THEY would have for actually stealing the car.
  19. Or you could just try replacing the gearbox oil if it's old, or you aren't sure how old it is. Try that first.
  20. I've got a friend who does this stupid trick in his manual, and yes it does save SOME fuel, BUT you are sacrificing a degree of control over the car. What if you suddenly need to speed up to avoid someone whose about to rear end you, or dive into the next lane to avoid a someone literally trying to 'merge' with you? In both situations, if you can't plant it and get yourself out of trouble, your a sitting duck. In my opinion, diminished ability to accelerate (or NO ability in this case) is equally as bad as diminished braking capability. Oh and whatever you do, don't turn the engine off altogether while rolling, like a mate's mate did - the steering wheel locked up and he was killed in a head-on (no 5h1t). Go buy a econobox if you can't afford the petrol.
