Good Afm's For Highly Modified R33

Glad to hear it was found!! Although that wrecker sounds like an idiot for stripping it BEFORE ringing the police.

I only heard of it this Friday. Someone told its basically a meetup of car ppl who cruise in the Tharwa direction, and that I should come along.... And then they proceeded to tell me how last time the cops blocked them in and slapped a bunch of ppl with canaries. Sounds AWESOME!! I'M THERE lol NOT.

Wow back from the dead... basically... what turbo brian said... and if the battery is THAT dead, you won't get it started from a jump start (btw, my mechanic has told me that jumpstars can kill turbo controllers and such, so I don't recommend it). If it's really dead, you need to disconnect it from the car and charge it using a trickle charger as said before, for most likely a few days. Usually they have a read-out of power levels. I waitied until it was at about 80-90%.

lol I'm trying line that next time I'm at a club... what's the punchline Alex?

Both of those cars are lookers lol @ RTA SUK. I assume those aren't real plates... Err Kat, might wanna get Nismo or HKS injectors, they have a finer spray pattern (ie better mixing with the air) than Sard (don't know about other brands). Look forward to seeing the white beast on the cruise.
-
No offense to Tebie (because he is obviously one of the more receptive guys asking this kind of question, good on him)... but far out - I don't know how Nismoi, discopotatoe, paulr33 and the rest have any hair left, or a macro which says 'search' Well done guys.

Yep. It's often a case of "works" VS "is interesting" ... they often don't coincide. My car is like thousands of others out there. As for "280 is pretty good tho right?", go ride in a mate's car that has that kinda power (as passenger) and see what it feels like - how he can't put his foot down too much around most streets, how the lag (or lack of) feels, etc. I was all "ohhh ahhh 300rwkw" when I got my line. Now I've got 256rwkw running safe as houses (the way I like it), and knowing what I'd have to do to get 280-290 or more with the same reliability (ie a preemptive rebuild) and with my other goals in life, it's not worth it for me. If I was rich, then sure I'd go stroke a RB26. On that note, I suggest you ride in a GTR (even a stock 32) around some twisty roads before doling out too much on your GTST Makes you think twice hehe

Intersection of Constitution Avenue and Corranderrk (spelling?). Turning towards Reid CIT. I don't know if it was THE car. Just the right shape and colour
-
Saw a blue R33 with what looked like a Kamniri (is that how it's spelt?) kit... the kind with all the 'sharkfin' looking bits up the corners of the front bar and sideskirts, heading down Northbourne across Barry drive
-
Any time after COB is good for me.
-
Saw a couple in a wingless, badgeless 4DR R34 heading down Corranderrk in front of me this morning.
-
Topic done to death, but anyway: R33 GTST with the stock airbox here = 256rwkw. And the GTR airbox is supposd to perform even better (on GTRs of course).

Good Place To Get A Safcii Installed And Tuned?
sl33py replied to fandango's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Trojan Motorsport, without a doubt. 62426277. They've always done top notch work for me. -
Just so others can keep an eye out: In the car I saw, there were two males. The driver had black hair about 6-7cm long which was either straight or slightly wavy, and stood up off his head (nearly like a fro, but they didn't look african american, looked more lebanese/similar - something with a fairer/olive complexion). They both had a fairly dark tan or natural complexion, the passenger looked very similar but with shorter hair, or shaven head. Not all that much info ... hopefully helps though. Please note I hold no particular thoughts as to skin colour etc, I'm just doing a 5h1tty job at describing what I saw... I hope these ppl are caught if it WAS indeed the stolen car. I didn't catch any other details as I was turning across the intersection and couldn't gawk while turning (plus, the car looked pretty 'plain-jain', ie no kit, no flared guards or really wide tyres, front bar or ANYTHING unusual, so maybe I didn't pay too much attention, other than wondering if they'd seen me wave (twice)).

Well... from Mick's post in the spotted thread, I realised I MAY have seen this car yesterday morning. There were two males in the car. Hm to be honest I didn't notice any stickers on it. It either had stock (or very boring) wheels. It had two guys in it, both wearing sunnies and I think both had at least one parent with non-caucasian acenstry. This was about 9am in the morning... they were turning from the large round-about near the Convention Centre, RIGHT onto the road which heads towards CIT. What time of day is Nige's show on? I also PMed this response to you.
-
Uninsured.... Hope it shows up. Stickers would most likely be removed by now.
-
Nah dont think so - the "bum" looked like an unpainted rear bumper... This morning: Black R32 waiting to cross over at the same set of lights as me in Reid - no wave back. Also a red 33 right next to me heading into Civic - also no wave... ?? *sniffs his underarms*
-
Farout. I'd be taking it to a mechanic and let them do it. If you get it wrong, blowing up a GTR will be expensive!
-
Not parts as such, but: budget for all the parts we can think of, and then x1.5 of the cost Everyone seems to find that...
-
Black R33 with an unpainted "bum" and flat rear spoiler turning out of ANU onto Barry Drive this arvo around 5.15

Low Speed Noise - From Wheels
sl33py replied to thrtytwo's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Can you recreate the sound if you put the car up on jacks and spin the wheels? Maybe you can find the source that way. -
It's all on here, for such a common upgrade path - just search! I'd try to get a Power FC if you can, less fuss for closer to stock 'niceness' eg coldstart etc. You could probably figure out your options from all the 'what do upgrade next' threads on the first 3 plages of this section alone.
