  1. Errr I guess it would sound like every other little four cylinder car with a farty exhaust on it. I couldn't tell... just heard if hoon off, then it going up and down the streets in Scullin in a very 'wandering' fashion. Excess is gonna be $1600 (noone to point the finger at, and bro is under 25, with just cars). A friend of his said his Prelude's window was 600 itself to fix, and there's panel damage on my bro's, so we figure easiest to just make the claim and be assured the repairs will be good (or sorted out if the insurance repairer stuffs it up, as we know they can). </DRAMA-QUEENING>
  2. I'm in the Belco area. My brother's car (Honda 4 banger, nice looks but nothing overly special) just had a massive brick thrown through his passenger window. We heard a smash and a loud car like another honda/hyundai/something with a big canon exhaust on it hoon away. I rushed out and stood quietly on the street corner and could actually hear the same car going around Page/Scullin area, revving up high in second gear, then slowing down, very frequently, and repeatedly up and down the streets, like someone looking for something (more ppl to vandalise or attempt to steal I guess). I WISH my car wasn't in the shop atm, or I would have been after them like a shot, and I reckon I coulda tracked them down just by pulling over and listening for their srupidly loud engine noise telegraphing their position half a suburb away... especially in the cold morning air! I'm so annoyed right now. One of my brothers front tyres blew out on him only 3 days ago, he's been patiently putting up with giving me lifts around to get my car sorted, and now this ****. I'm not a vigilante, but I would have found em, got their rego/make/model and maybe followed from a VERY long distance while having a passenger call the police to catch them. There aren't words to describe how frustrating it is, and that's ME, not him - he'd be more p1ssed off! And MAN does it suck having slow-witted parents who are too scared to even go outside when they think a vandal is 'on the loose'. Did anyone else in that area get vandalism, or notice any stupidly loud-exhausted cars going up and down streets??? It happened at about 2.50pm and they were cruising around the suburbs for at least the next 15 minutes, EASILY heard from several streets away. If so, PM me! WE'RE FUMING!!!!!
  3. Interesting... yes, please do weigh a stockie if u get a chance
  4. I was at Texi, I'll just be happy if I can pick it up on the Ignition DVD, or possibly something more specific (ie an SAU production) if it will have more footage than Ignition. I wanna see my car driven in anger "on TV" haha
  5. And Autobarn have two means to help you find the right one: 1) A computer that guides you to what you need via year/make/model 2) Nathan hahah
  6. The AFM is GAWN. Prices on the other stuff are somewhat negotiable, as some happy punters have discovered so far.
  7. Surgery eh??? This James bloke sounds disgusting lol
  8. That's really surprising... I also bought Energizer rechargables and a charger specifically for it, they were the 1.2V ones, since rechargables don't come in 1.5V (which is what the camera is designed for). When I ran the rechargables in it, I couldn't get more than a minute or so before it would show low battery and simply shut down. A friend explained about how some things need 1.5 no matter what, and sure enough the lithiums I got have been going strong.. that's weird!!
  9. In total right? The aftermarket rims I'm reading about are 5-7kgs each by themselves... something doesn't sound right
  10. For the price, I think zoom's a bit of a dream hehe God, I think the battery would last 10 seconds with an LCD haha. As NISMO told me, he exhausted a set of normal batteries just setting up the camera and playing around with it for the first time!! They are pretty much a track-only useful tool (and there they function fine... as marketed I suppose). But I really think they should mention the whole can't-see-in-the-dark thing though, that was a big shock. Lame.
  11. You'd be surprised @ prices... ask Mick. Michele, I WANT to go but panel beaters found previous rust damage while fixing something else (UGH), so might be a close call!
  12. @ testing stuffed coils.... I think you'd be lucky if just one was stuffed. I had 2-3 that were stuffed. If you want to find out if it's the coils, remove the coilpack cover, go for a hard drive at night, pull over and pop the hood, stick ur head in and see if u can spot the arc'ing. It's dead obvious Welcome!
  13. lol made an "area" of myself.. damn, nice price VZSS! They CAN be used as a hand held camera, however they are so small that you might find you aren't really pointing in the direct you think they are. I wouldn't rely on them for that kind of use. CeJay I can show you mine if you like. I'll bring it the next Friday I'm out. One really important thing is that this camera will NOT pickup any footage whatsoever (ie nada, zip, zero) at night time. I went for a drive at night and I could only JUST make out the halo from streetlights, and nothing else. And it BARELY picks up any footage indoors during the day, or at night with the room's lights on (ie the footage is so dark you can't make anything out). Even when I faced this thing towards a desk lamp, it is VERY poor quality. It really needs UV/daylight to work properly.. go figure. I was hoping to use it for night time cruise footage, but it is useless for that. I was really disappointed about this part, but I mostly bought it for analysing laps and stuff during the day, so it's alright for me. The other thing is, Wakefield Park (and probably many other tracks in AU) will not let you use this camera with the including suction cup mount. If you want to use it on the track, you'll need to get a proper bolt on fixture, like the "Cruise Cam" i mentioned in an earlier post. Other than that, it's great - you can see what footage is captures in it's ideal conditions. Oh, and the other thing: it chews batteries like a mofo. Lithium or BUST!
  14. evil weevil, Chris' camera is a GoPro, same as mine. www.goprocamera.com then go to the Motorsports Hero. I got mine from http://www.soloperformance.com/ in the USA as well as a CruiseCam headrest mount for about 310AUD all told. User NISMO also has one which he got locally. Here is some video I took from Wakefield. I had the sound on the wrong setting for in-car though. And the footage is much smoother when you use the included suction cup. And yes, I damn near **** myself at the end of the video hahaha Me making an area of myself
  15. Apparently not that easy? hahaha Someone got stock wheels and a set of scales?
  16. I also have 1 stock airbox (complete unit, top and bottom halves with snorkel) = $100 shipped. And one separate snorkel that feeds the airbox = $45 shipped. Both for R33 GTST. Good for getting past defects, or simply to use on the car all the time (I'vegot 256rwkw with stock airbox!). PM if interested. Cheers.
  17. How heavy are those wheels compared to stock?
  18. Spotted a VERY schmick looking R32 in deep deep blue/purple of some kind on my street this morning. Never seen the car before, someone must be visiting, or maybe a new purchase?? (hope not, wasn't even parked off the street!) Anyway, some nice scenery to start the day
  19. Those who fry tyres with a GTRS must have some crazy (poor) suspension setup or stepping sideways off the clutch on every gear change, mines fine.
  20. Won't be out - in it's at the panel beaters! ...and there's a decent gig at the Basement belco
  21. Nah, I don't wanna drive my daily in an competitive multi-car event, the hillclimb's ok tho Might get out there to watch
  22. Oh what?! I didn't read the link and thought this was an open day where most of the attendies would be from that club... I don't wanna 'compete' ... yet. Might come watch though.
  23. The main shops layout there strikes me as a little strange though.
