  1. Female driven, mightn't have been owned by her Seems only 5 minutes ago I was posting "waiting for 5o'c and the weekend to roll around"
  2. Just make sure you realise that Just Car's "choice of repairer" policy is completely full of it (as some others' version of choice are too). Like so: They tell you to get a quote from a repairer YOU choose. They also tell you to get a quote from someone on their 'approved repairer' list They award the job to whoever does the 'most comprehensive' quote. Guess who wins 99% of the time. NOT YOUR CHOICE.
  3. Ppl told me to make sure I got one with a thermostat. I got the greddy cooler + reloc kit for 970. If you wanna know where from, PM me.
  4. Hmm something dodge with that torque readout. Maybe some others more knowledge than I can explain how it could read that. Maybe the one above is also subject to discrepancy via how its measured... but stock doing 800Nm is a 'off' looking lol Also... you're power looks insanely high for a stock GTT/GTST type engine. Aren't dyno runs usually done in 4th or 3rd? Don't recall seeing one in 2nd before. Maybe this is why my mechanic said he doesn't usually bother measuring torque cos it depends on the dyno setup too heavily? or how its used... or something
  5. Far out. Why so long delay?
  6. Well, it's been mainly the dosh side of things - waiting to have money to fix stuff. I'm trying not to think about possible fun and games with the panel beaters.
  7. Holy Poo. 700-800Nm! So I'm guessing 100 to 200 less without all the internals and cams like you've got... which is still 500-600Nm. faaaark lol I can't wait for mine
  8. Too impatient to just wait until you've got your RWC, then install it after? In ACT, once you've got RWC, I don't think you ever need to get it checked again (I've never needed to after buying a car), so noone's going to go looking unless you get pulled over and sent back to the pits.
  9. Damn. You win lol
  10. Hah. OR be crashed into around that period....
  11. I've been without the car since end of November and I'm going ceeerrrraazzzy waiting. Most parts are at the mechanics, just waiting on oil cooler from Japan and a few other local bits and bobs (see sig). I know this is a useless post, but FAR OUT I'm bored without it. Missed all the good summer weeks for late cruising, and every time I want to duck off somewhere during the working day, I go " ! Dammit..." when I realise I can't. Have noticed that being without your own car makes you notice others a lot more though, I see 3-4 lines every day. Brother cracked a joke yesterday when I saw one: "didn't you used to have one of those?" The fact I've only driven gf's 07 Swift a handful of times will make getting back into mine is going to be a little nuts. Also sucks that the rear end has to be sorted shortly after the car rolls of it's own volition. What's the longest others have gone without their cars? What did you do to pass the time?
  12. lol If he's paying out mine, he's paying out his own same car
  13. Wrong forum, and learn to spell.
  14. Road speed dependant? Engine speed dependant? Gear dependant? Can a passenger hear it? Constant, or changes with angle of wheels? Can it be heard by a friend when you drive past them? Does the car have to be cold (ie mornings) when it does it? Or all the time? I find that 50% of the time my audio guy finds rattles/sounds that my mechanic can't, he knows I hate rattles etc. If you can repeat it reliably, take your mechanic for a drive to show him. If the sound happens when the car is just coasting out of gear, that's the easiest to hear, because less noise in the car. I sometimes get my brother to get in the back and hold his hands against things until rattles stop, then I at least know where to direct my audio guy. Hopefully it's not a mechanical problem, and just something cheap like noisy trim.
  15. Fair enough. Was just worried that my coupla hundred dollar battery was a dodo. I've charged it up now though, and leaving it disconnected til they come to get the car. I got a few chugs from the starter motor when it was half charged (got nothing before), so I think it'll be fine. Thanks
  16. Also, the Aussie distributor of Blitz has recently changed hands, so they are hard to get hold of (not much in stock in the country ATM, one place saying 4 weeks before they could even ORDER it, never mind shipping time). And I guess as a result, all the local prices seem to have magically 'reset' themselves back up to very near original RRP cos there's no haggling power for the customer I just bought one and because I'm in a rush, I paid a fair bit :| I like new stuff, and there was only $150 to save in buying from one of the SAU traders that imports from Japan. If you can find one in good nick and with all parts from Japan for cheap, GRAB it.

  18. Waffles are better
  19. Saw two black R34s in Civic going home from work. I like that shape in black
  20. That's insane. Let me guess - he works out of his garage right? If so, hope you aren't planning on having the car a few weeks!
  21. It's low mount, so it shouldn't draw big attention like a high mount would. Anyway, you can get a new turbo engineered to it's 'legal' (but any police officer can still serve you a defect notice so that you have to get it OK'ed again at the pits - may just require you showing the engineering report). You know who you COULD ring? the RTA. And get a defnite answer. You don't need to give names or rego numbers while asking this kind of question, and they will give you the URLs of the appropriate doco (if you can't find it on their site).
  22. Memories!!! @ Bowning! Argh. I lived there for 16 years (age 3 to ~21). Moved back into Canberra a few years ago. You're not wrong calling it "middle of nowhere!" I used to live on the second highest hill in Bowning, overlooking the highway that goes off to Harden (the side facing away from Bowning Hill). It was a mongrel of a hill to walk up/down on the way to school! Very steep. Dad moved the house there in 7 pieces from Binalong... DUMB idea). I think the block was actually divided up some years ago and that my old house is now owned by a dog breeder, cos they had a dog sign on the front and lots of little high-fenced pens last time I drove by. The really dumb thing is: we used to live in the house next to the Bowning servo (the one that is still standing!). That's right - we moved WITHIN Bowning... *forehead smack* However, we did get the house from Binalong for FREE (using the loose definition of the word 'house', it would have been the equivalent of a rolling car shell) and get this: the 2.5 acre block with sprawling views for miles and miles cost us just $17 grand! Mind you, my olds had to take out a personal loan just to pay the deposit on the land, and this was when interest rates were at their highest! Fun times and lots of cheap pancakes for all I'm glad I grew up there as a kid thrashing around with sticks in the grass and plenty of space to ride a BMX, but I don't think I could handle living out there these days! Also feel for Baconer, halfway to bvggery and can see why bad drivers would p1ss him off, given that there's so few ppl on the road, it's not hard to drive politely and clear of everyone else! </NOSTALGIA> PS, yeah BP Jamo has always been expensive. I try to fill up at BP Braddon, but I have NFI what Ultimate costs these days with the car off the road the past 3 months!
  23. Go get it tuned with the box and YOU can tell US!
  24. Holy 5h1t. I wish your postie was delivering my mail then!
  25. lol this is just winding me up for when I get mine running! Argh can't stand the wait.
